［サンフランシスコ　２６日　ロイター］　２６日発表された世論調査によると、カリフォルニア州では、民主党のケリー大統領候補が２ケタ台の大差をつけて、ブッシュ大統領をリードしている。

　それによると、全米最大の大票田である同州での支持率はケリー候補が５５％、ブッシュ大統領は４０％。

　ケリー候補支持は、ブッシュ大統領を再選させたくないことが大きな要因となっていると同調査では見ている。

　２月時点の同州でのケリー候補の支持率は５３％だった。

Poll: Kerry Maintains Big Lead Over Bush in Calif.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Democratic Sen. John Kerry continues to hold a double-digit lead over President Bush in California, which boasts the nation's biggest electoral prize, according to a poll released on Wednesday.

The Field Poll said presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Kerry leads Bush 55 percent to 40 percent in the nation's most populous state.

Support for Kerry, which the poll said stemmed largely from a desire to unseat Bush, rose from 53 percent in February among Californians likely to vote in the November presidential election, the poll said. Five percent of voters were undecided.

With Ralph Nader in the race, Kerry's lead shrinks slightly to a 51 percent to 39 percent margin, with the consumer advocate picking up 4 percent of the vote in Democrat-leaning California, the poll said.

The survey of 647 registered California voters likely to cast a ballot in the presidential election has a sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
