At least 50 Iraqis, 7 US soldiers killed, 100 Iraqis injured, in Al-Sadr City, in Baghdad

The Arab TV Channel, Al-Manar reported live from Al-Sadr City in Baghdad that at least 50 Iraqis were Killed and about 100 others were wounded by US forces. The predominantly Shi'a neighborhood of Baghdad responded to the Shi'a Cleric Muqtada Al-Sadr to protest against the US occupation of Iraq by "terrorizing" the occupiers. People went to the streets in demonstrations. The US forces opened fires and tens of them were killed.
Al-Manar TV also reported that three US soldiers were killed.
In the south, the Shi'a also went out in protests in all southern cities of Iraq. The bloodiest confrontation was in An Najaf, where about 24 Iraqis were killed and about 200 were injured. Four El-Salvadoran soldiers were killed several others were injured. Spanish and Italian facilities and vehicles were also attacked there.
Al-Manar TV reporters said that two developments triggered these confrontation. The first was the arrest of an Iraqi cleric assistant to Muqtada Al-Sadr, Mustapha Al-Yacoubi, by US forces. The second was the ban on Al-Hawza newspaper that represents him.
In Fallouja, the US forces are building up around the city in preparation for entering it to punish those who participated in the mutilation of the corpses of the four US personnel who were killed earlier. A big battle is expected between the US forces and the Fallouja defenders, Al-Manar TV reported.
