Taliban Mujahideen raided a puppet government office in Zabul yesterday, killing three Afghan soldiers dead and wounding several others. Some sixty Taliban fighters came down from nearby mountains and stormed the chief administratorﾕs office in Naubahar in the late night attack. The fighting went on for over two hours with both sides raining ak-47 fire and mortars at each other before the Taliban made good on their escape.

In other news, Taliban Mujahideen attacked American and Afghan forces on patrol in the Sori district. There are no reports in yet on casualties.

Manwhile, Taliban spokesman Abdul Latif Hakimi said Mujahideen shot down a US helicopter with a missile in Char Cheno district of Uruzgan province late yesterday. The US government of course denied the report and said the chopper made an ﾒaccidental "hard landing."

"We are 100 percent sure that our mujahideen managed to shoot down the chopper and that all 18 coalition soldiers on board were either killed or wounded," Hakimi said by satellite phone from an undisclosed location.

The U.S. military in Kabul said the Taliban claim was not true, but added that one of its UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters carrying an unspecified number of U.S.-led soldiers "made a hard landing" in Deh Rawud district of Uruzgan.

Witnesses said they saw smoke coming from the field where the chopper clashes but were turned back by US forces who has sealed the area by the time they arrived at the scene.
