Al-Fallujah - ar-Ramadi Province.

Six Iraqi civilians killed in US air attacks on al-Fallujah Sunday.

The al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US fighterbombers fired rockets at three houses in the city of al-Fallujah, and then used their machine gun cannon to strafe cars on the highway. In all, the American fire claimed the lives of six local civilian residents.

Four persons were killed and three others injured when US aircraft destroyed three local houses. One of the dead was a local policeman named Ra’id Isma‘il. Another was a man aged over 50 years.

Local residents discovered the metal disks that emit a homing signal to US aircraft scattered on the ground around the site, indicating that local agents working for the invaders had been active in the area.

After bombing the homes, the US aircraft turned their attention to cars on the highway. The American attacks there killed two men, wounded four children, and left one woman critically injured wounded.

Consultative Council of Mujahideen Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah secures release of French journalist hostage.

Al-‘Arabiyah satellite TV reported Sunday that the consultative council of the Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah secured the release of a French journalist less than 24 hours after he had been kidnapped.

The station did not name the journalist but showed a video tape of a bearded man identified as the French hostage. The journalist and his Iraqi driver had been captured by an unnamed group as they headed west towards al-Fallujah from Baghdad.

When news that the French journalist had been kidnapped reached the council of the Mujahideen Resistance fighters in al-Fallujah, the council determined the location where the man was being held and sent a group of seven persons to go to the place and release the journalist and his driver. After his release, the French journalist decided to remain in al-Fallujah.

Baghdad.

Three CIA agents killed in Baghdad attack Sunday morning.

Three US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officers were killed on Sunday when Iraqi Resistance forces detonated a bomb on the road leading to the ‘Arafat al-Hindiyah area in the al-Karradah district of the city. One civilian style vehicle belonging to the CIA was destroyed. The local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the blast occurred at about 8am Sunday and left three intelligence agents dead. Eye witnesses reported that four persons in the vehicle were killed but the correspondent was able to confirm only the deaths of three.

Resistance captures suspected CIA officer, driver in al-Karradah district of Baghdad.

Masked Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a civilian car in which suspected agents of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) were traveling near the Hyatt Tower hotel in the al-Karradah district of Baghdad. The Resistance fighters stopped the Caprice Dolphin and captured its driver and one other person, a suspected officer in the CIA.

Seven Marines killed in afternoon Resistance attack west of al-Karmah.

Seven US Marines were killed when the Iraqi Resistance detonated tow bombs under a US convoy consisting of three Humvees at 4pm Sunday afternoon by the Jadwal at-Tamimi west of al-Karmah. Two Humvees were totally destroyed and a third disabled in the attack.

Resistance kills two Badr Brigade gunmen, captures three more on Hayfa Street.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked two vehicles belonging to the Badr Brigades on Hayfa Street in the Karakh district of Baghdad at 3:45pm Sunday afternoon. One Land Cruiser was destroyed killing two Badr Brigade gunmen aboard it. The second Land Cruiser was captured along with the three Badr Brigade gunmen aboard it.

The Badr Brigades are the armed wing of the Shi‘i chauvinist so-called “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) that invaded Iraq together with US troops in spring 2003.

Four US troops killed in ambush in al-Karakh, Baghdad.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US patrol at 10am Sunday in the area between the Bara’atuh Mosque and the Mosque of Shaykh al-Junayd al-Baghdadi in the al-Karakh district of downtown Baghdad. Resistance fighters threw grenades and used various weapons in the ambush, killing four US troops and wounding seven others, three of them seriously. Three Resistance fighters died as martyrs in the combat.

Seven US troops killed in al-Mushahada, north of Baghdad Sunday afternoon.

Fighting broke out at about 3pm Sunday afternoon between US forces and the Iraqi Resistance in the al-Mushahadah area some 40km north of Baghdad. Resistance forces fired C5K and RPG7 rockets, destroying one Humvee and an armored vehicle. Seven US troops were killed.

Resistance attack kills five US troops, Americans kill two passersby in revenge.

At 3pm Sunday afternoon an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US Bradley armored vehicle between the neighborhoods of at-Turath and al-I‘lam southwest of Baghdad. The blast destroyed the Bradley that continued to burn until US reinforcements appeared on the scene. They pulled the corpses of five American troops out of the vehicle.

After the attack, US troops on a Humvee opened fire indiscriminately at Iraqi civilians in the area, taking quick revenge for the Resistance attack victims. Two Iraqi passers by were killed and four others wounded in the wild American gunfire. One of the wounded was an elderly Iraqi woman whose injuries were critical.

Two US troops killed in al-Ghazaliyah ambush.

Two US troops were killed at 4pm Sunday afternoon when Iraqi Resistance forces fired two RPG7 rockets at a US provisions convoy in the al-Ghazaliyah area southwest of Baghdad. One supply truck loaded with military gear and Humvee tires was set ablaze and destroyed in the attack.

Five US troops killed in ar-Ridwaniyah bombing.

Iraqi Resistance forces planted a bomb in the path of a US Bradley armored vehicle in the ar-Ridwaniyah area. The explosion at 11am Sunday morning destroyed one Bradley and killed five US troops who were aboard it.

Two US troops killed in bombing near Sadr al-Qanat.

Two US troops were killed when an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US provisions truck on the highway near Sadr al-Qanat at 2:15am Sunday afternoon.

Five American troops killed in rocket attack near al-Furat neighborhood.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired two C5K rockets, totally destroying a US Bradley armored vehicle on the road to Saddam International Airport near the al-Furat neighborhood at 3:30pm Sunday afternoon. Five US troops aboard the Bradley were killed.

Four US troops killed in bombing of Bradley in at-Taji.

An Iraqi Resistance anti-tank land mine exploded in at-Taji north of Baghdad under a US Bradley armored vehicle at about 11am Sunday morning. The Bradley was destroyed and four American soldiers killed .

Two US troops killed, four wounded in Baghdad bombing.

Iraqi Resistance forces detonated a bomb under a US Humvee in Baghdad. The explosion, at 4pm Sunday afternoon, killed two American troops and injured four others. The Humvee was destroyed.

Two US troops killed in bombing in Abu Ghurayb Sunday morning.

Two US troops were killed when an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US Bradley armored vehicle in the Kharnabat area of Abu Ghurayb at about 9am Sunday, disabling the vehicle. Local residents said they saw American troops pull two bodies out of the wreckage of the vehicle and put them in black body bags.

Resistance car bomb kills six US troops in Abu Ghuryab.

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb blew up as a US column was passing along the Old Street in Abu Ghurayb west of Baghdad at about 8:15am Sunday. The blast destroyed one Bradley armored vehicle and disabled a Humvee. Six American soldiers were killed in the explosion.

Two US troops killed in Resistance attack on supply truck in Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance fighters detonated a bomb under a civilian truck bringing provisions to the US occupation forces on the highway in Abu Ghurayb. After the explosion, Resistance forces attacked firing RPG7 rockets. The truck was destroyed and two US troops aboard it were killed.

Security officer for American State Department admitted killed in mortar attack.

The US State Department admitted on Sunday that Ed Seitz, an American security officer working for the State Department had been killed in a mortar attack at 5am near Saddam International Airport in Baghdad.

Resistance sharp shooter picks off US machine gunner on Bradley armored vehicle.

An Iraqi Resistance sharp shooter shot a US machine gunner atop his Bradley armored vehicle in the ‘Arab Jabbur area of ad-Durah on the southern outskirts of Baghdad at about 3pm Sunday. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in ad-Durah said Resistance fighters observed a US column going through the area.

Three US troops killed in Sunday night bombing on Airport Road.

Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded under a US Humvee as the vehicle was passing along the Airport Road in the area between al-Bayya‘ and as-Sayyidiya at 7:55pm Sunday night, destroying the Humvee and killing three US soldiers. Two other US troops were wounded in the bombing.

Four American soldiers killed in ambush in as-Sayyidiyah.

Four US troops were killed when Iraqi Resistance fighters in the as-Sayyidiyah area of Baghdad fired two SPG9 rockets at a US Bradley armored vehicle on the public road leading to Saddam International Airport. The vehicle was totally destroyed.

Two blasts kill four US troops between ad-Durah and as-Sayyidiyah.

Two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded under two US Humvees at about 6pm Sunday evening on the road passing between ad-Durah and as-Sayyidiyah to the south of Baghdad. The blasts destroyed one Humvee and disabled the other. Four US troops were killed in the explosions.

Resistance downs unmanned US spy plane in ad-Durah.

At about 3:30am Sunday morning Iraqi Resistance fighters opened fire with BKC automatic weapons on an unmanned US spy plane, shooting it down over the ‘Arab Jabbur area in the ad-Durah southern suburb of Baghdad.

Al-Latifiyah - al-Yusufiyah.

Six Marines, seven puppet troops killed in fighting in al-Latifiyah.

Iraqi Resistance forces clashed violently with a joint US Marine-Iraqi puppet force patrol in the al-Latifiyah area, 25km south of Baghdad. In a dispatch posted at 12:30am Monday morning local time (11:30pm Mecca time Sunday night) the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the fighting erupted when the Resistance fired GC and BKC automatic weapons and five SPG9 rockets at the aggressor patrol.

Two US Humvees, one Nissan pickup, and one Nissan Patrol Safari belonging to the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” were destroyed. Six US Marines and seven “Iraqi national guardsmen’ were killed. Three Resistance fighters died as martyrs in the battle which was still raging when the correspondent filed his report. There were unconfirmed reports of two American soldiers having been captured by the Resistance and led away to an unknown area.

Ba‘qubah.

Bodies of puppet troops killed by Resistance found near Ba‘qubah.

The bodies of 49 Iraqi officers were discovered near Ba‘qubah, north of Baghdad on Sunday. They are believed to be the remains of members of the US-run puppet Iraqi “army” shot by the Resistance after being intercepted on their way to their homes in the southern areas of al-‘Amarah and al-Kut. The puppet troops had previously undergone 20 days of training at the hands of their American masters in camps near the Iranian border

The puppet police chief in Diyala Province told Reuters the bodies were found when an excavation project was undertaken in the Ba‘qubah area.

Karbala’.

One Bulgarian aggressor soldier killed three others wounded near Karbala’.

The Bulgarian Minister of Defense announced on Sunday that a Bulgarian soldier had been killed and three others injured when a truck loaded with munitions exploded near a Bulgarian convoy headed for the city of Karbala’ on Sunday. The Minister stated that the three wounded men had been taken to hospital.

Bulgaria, a satellite of the United States since the collapse of the Warsaw Treaty Organization around 1990, has a contingent of 480 aggressor troops serving the imperial interests of the United States in occupied Iraq.

Shi‘i cleric assassinated in Karbala’.

Shi‘i cleric Muslim at-Ta’i, the Director of the Husayn as-Sadr Office and a member of the puppet Iraqi “governing council” was assassinated in a hail of gunfire in Karbala’ on Sunday. At-Ta’i was attacked while riding in his car. Seriously wounded he was taken to al-Husyan Hospital where he later died. The local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reports that at-Ta’i was a socially prominent figure in the city and that he had played an important role in bringing about the cease fire between US forces and the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the city in May.

Tikrit - Salah ad-Din Province.

Resistance attacks both northern and southern US facilities set up in occupied presidential palaces.

As US military columns were entering the American base in the northern presidential palace in Tikrit, Iraqi Resistance forces began shelling the Americans with a barrage of fifteen 82mm mortar rounds.

Afterwards, the Resistance struck the base itself with a powerful Tariq rocket. Then, on the heels of the first two attacks, the Resistance struck the base a third time, this time with three Katyusha rockets.

Apparently the rockets and shells hit their targets, because clouds of thick black smoke rose into the sky over the base, a sign that vehicles had been hit. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an American Black Hawk helicopter was observed carrying dead and wounded US troops out of the stricken compound.

Simultaneously with those attacks, the Resistance also struck the southern presidential palace in Tikrit with eight 82mm mortar rounds.

When the US sent forces out of their base, the Resistance detonated two bombs under a US Humvee, destroying the vehicle and killing four American troops who were aboard it.

Al-Basrah and south.

Tribes clash with puppet troops near al-Basrah.

Fierce fighting broke out at about 4pm Sunday afternoon between Bedouin tribes of the al-Basrah area and the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” after the puppet troops arrested one of the tribal leaders. In a dispatch posted at 12:40am Monday morning local time (11:40pm Sunday Mecca time) the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam said that the fighting was still under way as he wrote.

The correspondent said that the fighting was very intense, and that all sorts of weapons from light, to medium were being used, including 60mm, 82mm, and 120mm mortars. The fighting is concentrated around the areas of Umm Shuwayh, ash-Shakhatah and as-Saddah.

Four puppet troops killed on road to al-Faw.

Four puppet “Iraqi national guard” troops were killed when an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on the road to al-Faw at 9pm Sunday night. The went off as a puppet force pickup truck passed by. The vehicle was destroyed.

Elsewhere in Iraq. . .

The US newspaper The Washington Post reported on Sunday that at the request of the CIA, the American Justice Department has drafted a confidential memo that authorizes the agency to transfer detainees out of Iraq for interrogation - a practice that international legal specialists say contravenes the Geneva Conventions.

Washington Post staff writer Dana Priest wrote that “one intelligence official familiar with the operation said the CIA has used the March draft memo as legal support for secretly transporting as many as a dozen detainees out of Iraq in the last six months. The agency has concealed the detainees from the International Committee of the Red Cross and other authorities, the official said.”

Bombardments throughout Iraq on Sunday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired nine 82mm mortar rounds at the US base at as-Suqur south of Baghdad at 4:30am Sunday morning.

At 5:30am Sunday morning four rockets crashed into the US as-Suqur base.

At 8am Sunday morning Iraqi Resistance forces fired three Katyusha rockets at the US occupation headquarters in the Republican Palace compound in Baghdad - known to the American invaders as “the green zone.”

At 4pm Sunday afternoon Iraqi Resistance forces fired two 82mm mortar rounds into the so-called “green zone.”

At 6:30pm Sunday evening, Iraqi Resistance forces fired three 82mm mortar rounds into the former headquarters of the Iraqi chief of staff, now a US military camp in the al-‘Amiriyah area of Baghdad.

At 7pm Sunday evening six 82mm mortar rounds slammed into the US as-Suqur base setting off large explosions.

At 7:45pm several Grad rockets were fired into the as-Suqur base, once again producing large explosions.
