Fallujah
U.S. warplanes attacked the rebel-held city of Fallujah overnight, killing two people, a witness said.
The owner of a house that was flattened in the strike said two of his brothers were killed.
The U.S. military has been pounding suspected rebel targets in Fallujah almost daily in a bid to kill al Qaeda ally Abu Musaab Al Zarkawi and his militant followers.
The attacks have stepped up pressure on militants and insurgents ahead of a widely expected U.S.-led offensive on the western city.
Iraq's U.S-backed interim government has vowed to retake Fallujah as part of a drive to pacify the country before national assembly elections planned for January.
Fallujah residents deny any knowledge of Zarkawi and his network and complain that U.S. warplanes are killing civilians.
