Al-Fallujah front.

US seals off al-Fallujah as battle threatens. Puppet “national guard” battalion deserts, unwilling to fight the Iraqi Resistance for the US invaders.

More and more signs appeared on Friday that the American invaders were preparing to launch an all-out offensive on al-Fallujah. A day after negotiations with city representatives collapses, the Americans arrested the chief negotiator for al-Fallujah Friday morning (see story below). Meanwhile American troops closed all the roads leading to and from al-Fallujah, other than one leading to the ash-Shukr area north of the city.

The al-Fallujah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American forces had massed in large numbers opposite the southern outskirts of al-Fallujah, in particular, outside the city’s industrial zone where tanks and armored vehicles were drawn up and more than seven US aircraft crisscross the skies over head.

Concern over an impending attack kept many residents of the city home from Friday congregational prayers. There were fears, that in the event did not materialize, among the people that the Americans might target the mosques during services.

US forces called in a battalion of puppet “Iraqi national guardsmen,” who arrived on Wednesday in the agricultural area outside of town. But so many members of the battalion threw off their uniforms and took off for home through the fields. In the end only 25 men remained ready to fight alongside the Americans against their fellow Iraqis.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the mass desertions of the “national guardsmen” came after the Iraqi Resistance used their supporters within the ranks of the “national guard” to spread the threat that there would be “no mercy” for any of them who fell into the hands of the Resistance, that they would have their throats slit as happens with traitors and lackeys. They puppet troops were reminded that the Americans would never come to their rescue, as they always only collect American dead and leave the others, and that the area would be their graveyard if they remained. Sources within the puppet “national guard” reported that the US command in the al-Fallujah area had sent to the headquarters of the “national guard” in Baghdad to send another battalion, to replace the one that melted away.

US bombards al-Fallujah killing ten, wounding nine civilians.

US C130 aircraft and American 57 artillery bombed and bombarded the city of al-Fallujah on Friday morning, leaving 10 local civilians martyred and nine injured. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bombing and shelling also totally destroyed five homes in the an-Nazal neighborhood. In a report he posted at 4:30pm Friday, local time (3:30pm Mecca time) the correspondent wrote that survivors and bodies were still being dug out of the rubble at that time, so the casualty figures were likely to rise.

In addition, US forces shelled the al-Ma‘adid Mosque with tank cannon, destroying the front of the building that faced the street. The mosque was empty at the time of the American desecrating attack Friday afternoon.

US invader troops arrest chief negotiator for al-Fallujah.

US aggressor forces arrested the chief negotiator for the city of al-Fallujah, Shaykh Khalid Hammud al-Jumayli along with Shaykh Ahmad al-Jannabi, a member of the negotiating team representing the city.

Negotiations had been under way between a deputation representing al-Fallujah and the US forces in an effort to head off a planned US offensive on the city. The talks reportedly collapsed on Thursday night.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Fallujah reported that the arrests took place on the highway in the al-Hasy area, 10km from the city as the two men were on their way to Baghdad. Afterwards, US invader troops released Shaykh Ahmad al-Jannabi, but retained Shayk Khalid al-Jumayli in captivity.

People in al-Fallujah vow to fight on, despite puppet ‘Allawi’s threats.

People in al-Fallujah are still talking about what happened on Wednesday, 13 October, when the US-installed puppet “primeminister” Iyyad ‘Allawi threatened to have US and stooge forces storm al-Fallujah if the city fails to surrender to his “authority.”

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported that ten minutes after ‘Allawi’s speech a powerful duststorm swept through the country, turning daytime into night and reducing visibility to a mere 15 meters. Local citizens took heart from the storm, and one wrote on a wall “This is aid from God, ‘Allawi, and God can do much greater things!”

On Friday a number of citizens of al-Fallujah met in the al-Hadrah mosque and swore an oath that they would continue resisting the invader until the last drop of their blood.
