Twelve US troops killed in al-Qa’im.
Twelve US troops were killed when an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded on a public street in the al-Karabilah area near al-Qa’im on the border with Syria at midnight Friday-Saturday. One Humveee and a personnel carrier - both of them loaded with US troops - were destroyed in the attack.
US kills civilians in revenge for bombardment of their camp in al-Qa’im.
The US camp in the Customs area of al-Qa’im was attacked at 3pm Saturday with six mortar rounds. The US forces responded by shelling a residential neighborhood, killing three civilians - two women and a youth - and wounding 10 others.
US mortar fire destroys home in al-Qa’im Saturday night.
The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Qa’im reported that US forces shelled a house in the al-Jam‘iyah neighborhood of the city, destroying the building at 10:30pm Saturday night. The correspondent wrote that the house was believed to be vacant at the time of the US attack, since civilian residents have already fled the area to safer regions. Five mortar rounds struck the home. Afterwards local residents combed the ruins to be sure that there had been no casualties.
Large-scale Resistance attack hits US-Iraqi puppet convoy in ar-Ramadi province.
The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at 4pm Saturday, a series of four high-explosive Iraqi Resistance bombs blew up under a joint convoy of US and Iraqi puppet forces on the Hit - ar-Ramadi Highway. After the bomb blasts, a forces of some 50 Resistance fighters swooped in on the survivors from all directions. Fierce fighting raged for about 30 minutes.
Two US Bradley armored vehicles, four Humvees, three tankers and three transports carrying six armored vehicles were destroyed by the bombs. Two troop carriers and two Nissan pickup trucks belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces were also destroyed. Local residents counted 25 Americans and 34 Iraqi puppet soldiers dead. Between six and eight Resistance fighters were also killed.
US forces mounted a fierce bombardment of the northern part of al-Fallujah on Saturday, one that was still going on when the local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent filed his report at 11:55pm local time Saturday night (10:55pm Mecca time). The neighborhoods of al-Jawlan, al-Jurayfi, and al-‘Askari were targeted by the Americans who used tank cannon, mortars and C130 aircraft to pound the city with bombs, shells, and machineguns. One C130 escorted by three other aircraft dropped anti-personnel container bombs.
Earlier, the correspondent reported that at least three Iraqis were killed by machine gun strafing from C130 aircraft, tearing their bodies to shreds.

US reportedly shells hospital in Baghdad.
At about 11am Saturday, US occupation forces fired artillery and mortars at a hospital in the center of Baghdad, up the street from a church. The US attack killed an assistant doctor and wounded 19 other persons in the medical facility, according to a dispatch on the al-Akhbar al-‘Alamiyah network.
US arrests Imam of mosque in Samarra’ for urging resistance to occupation.
Iraqi puppet police sources reported that the US occupation forces and members of the puppet so-called national guard arrested Shaykh Mahir ‘Ali ash-Sharaji, the Imam of the al-Bashir Mosque in the al-Ishaqi section of Samarra’ on charges of “inciting terrorism.” Worshippers at the mosque said a large troop of US forces accompanied by “national guardsmen” surrounded the mosque after weekly congregational prayers on Friday and used loudspeakers to announce the arrest order of Shaykh ash-Sharaji and two other individuals. The worshippers said that during his sermon, the Shaykh had called for resistance to the occupation.
Six US soldiers killed in Abu Ghurayb.
Six US troops were killed when Iraqi Resistance forces attacked an American column in Abu Ghurayb at 11:30am. A Resistance car bomb with no one inside was detonated by remote control by a US column, destroying one Humvee and a small personnel carrier carrying supplies. Another such vehicle was disabled.

Three US troops were killed in a Resistance bombing in the al-A‘zamiyah area of Baghdad that destroyed a Humvee at 6pm. A Bradley armored vehicle was also slightly damaged.
US intelligence officers killed in ambush in Baghdad Saturday afternoon.
At 3pm Saturday in al-‘Amil in Baghdad Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US motorcade made up of GMC vehicles believed to belong to US intelligence. The US column consisted of five GMC vehicles - four white and one black in the middle with other escort vehicles. The Resistance fired four anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades at the motorcade, destroying the black car and killing the three Americans aboard. At least one was believed to be a high-ranking CIA officer in the area.

At about 1:45pm Saturday Iraqi Resistance forces destroyed a US vehicle in the Sukkaniyah area of ad-Durah in southern Baghdad killing a US officer and two Iraqi puppet troops.

US military admits “crash” of two US helicopters and death of two US soldiers Saturday evening.
US military sources admitted that two American helicopters had crashed south west of Baghdad on Saturday evening, killing two soldiers and wounding two others, according to their public announcements. The American military spokesman claimed that the reason for the crashes at about 8:30pm Saturday in a zone known for intense Resistance activity was “unknown.”
US loses 13 troops killed when Resistance wipes out American unit in Baghdad attack.
Thirteen US troops were killed when Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US command post in the Suwayd area in the ash-Shurtah al-Khamis neighborhood of Baghdad at 7pm Saturday evening. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance pounded the Americans with RPG7 and C5K rockets and with BKC automatic weapons fire, completely wiping out the American unit. Two US officers were among the dead. One Humvee was destroyed in the attack and one Bradley armored vehicle disabled.

Seven members of the puppet “Iraqi national guard” were killed when Iraqi Resistance forces defied their attempt to arrest “suspected” Resistance members in the al-Karakh district of Baghdad. At 10am the Iraqi puppet forces entered the al-Ju‘ayfar area of al-Karakh. When they started to leave the area, Resistance forces counter attacked with RPG7 rockets, BKC automatic weapons, and hand grenades.

Fierce fighting erupted in the al-Latifiyah area south of Baghdad on Saturday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that one Nissan pickup truck belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces was destroyed as was a small personnel carrier. Two US soldiers were killed in the battle. Two Iraqi puppet troops were killed in the fighting and one other wounded. On the other side, one Resistance fighter died a martyr and another was wounded in the engagement.
Kurdish collaborator official assassinated in Kirkuk.
Iraqi Resistance fighters assassinated a Kurdish chauvinist collaborator official in the puppet “educational directorate” in Kirkuk. The Qatari news agency reported that ‘Abd al-Ghafur Abu Bakr was leaving home for work when the Resistance fighters killed him. Abu Bakr belonged to the so-called “Kurdistan National Union” led by Jalal Talibani, an agent of the US invaders.

Three US troops were killed and one other wounded in the area of Balad north of Baghdad at 7:30am Saturday. A Bradley armored vehicle and a fuel tanker were also destroyed in the attack.

Resistance forces destroyed a US Humvee in the Hur al-Basha area of at-Taji, killing three US troops.
Six American soldiers killed in fighting in Madinat as-Sadr in Baghdad.
Fierce clashes broke out Saturday afternoon between 2pm and 3pm between US occupation forces and the Iraqi Resistance in the Madinat as-Sadr area of Baghdad. Six US troops were killed and one Humvee and one Bradley armored vehicle destroyed. Three Resistance fighters were killed as well.
Resistance bombards US headquarters in al-Basrah.
Powerful blasts shook the headquarters of the US command in al-Basrah when four Katyusha rockets slammed into the building at 10:30pm Saturday night. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the rockets produced loud secondary explosions, probably the result of US munitions blowing up. After the rocket attack, ten 82mm mortar rounds also crashed into the US facility.

At 5am Resistance forces fired three Tariq rockets at the Presidential Palace in Tikrit, now occupied by US forces.
The US base in as-Suqur south of Baghdad was struck by four Resistance Katyusha rockets at about 5am Saturday.
At 8am the as-Suqur base was again struck, this time by two Grad rockets, sending smoke rising into the sky.

The US airbase in al-Muthanna in Baghdad was struck at sunset (about 6pm) with twelve 82mm mortar rounds. A violent blast followed that barrage, probably from a Tariq rocket.
At about 8pm the Resistance again bombarded al-Muthanna with four Katyusha rockets.
