Al-Qa’im.

Sunday morning Resistance attack on US forces.

Iraqi Resistance forces detonated a bomb in the path of a US Humvee at the northern entrance to the city of al-Qa’im on the border with Syria at 9am Sunday, local time, destroying the Humvee and killing three US troops and wounding another.

Iraqi puppet troops resign en masse.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Qa’im reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb was hidden under the body of a dog thrown in the middle of the road and it exploded as soon as the Humvee passed over it.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Qa’im also reported that members of the new American-raised Iraqi puppet army in the city announced Sunday that they were resigning en masse from military service and were determined absolutely not to return to the ranks of the puppet army. The mass resignation followed crises that erupted between US troops and the puppet army in al-Qa’im.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent asked Lieutenant ‘Umar Muhammad about the reasons for the mass resignation. Lieutenant Muhammad said that the Americans had issued “orders” to them, as they called them, demanding that they accompany US forces on patrols in various neighborhoods of al-Qa’im. He said, “that meant that they wanted us to be turned into a sacrificial sheep. But we prefer to die at our own hands than at the hands of the Resistance. If we were to patrol the streets with them, as they demanded, that would mean that we would lose every day 10 to 15 soldiers, because that’s what’s happening to the Americans right now. Therefore we resolved to resign.”

Resistance attack leaves three puppet guard officers dead on Saturday.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Qa’im also reported that three officers in the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” were killed on the al-Jurayjib Bridge at midday Saturday by Resistance fighters armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles.

Hit.

Resistance shoots down helicopter over Hit.

Iraqi Resistance forces in Hit shot down a US Cobra helicopter at 6pm Sunday, local time. The helicopter had entered the city’s airspace together with three other helicopters, which proceeded to rocket the al-Baghdadi area of Hit, but without inflicting any losses, since the houses they attacked were empty.

Other US helicopters rocketed a farm near Hit after the Resistance there had fired several mortar rounds at the US base in the city, setting fires burning inside the facility.

The Hit correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that when the helicopters were returning to heir base, called ‘Ayn al-Asad, the Resistance opened fire with Strela rockets and it was then that one of the rockets scored a direct hit on a helicopter, setting it afire in the sky and killing its two-man crew. The Resistance fighter who fired the Strela was then martyred when a US helicopter that was following the downed craft fired a rocket at his position.

Baghdad.

Iraqi Resistance rejects Usamah bin Ladin call to unite under his man, Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi.

The General Command of the Iraqi Resistance issued a Statement that was distributed around mosques in Baghdad on Sunday morning, responding to a letter from Usamah bin Ladin that had called on Iraqis to put themselves under the command of Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi in their resistance struggle against the US occupation.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam obtained a copy of the Iraqi Resistance statement and said that it summarized the Resistance’s view of the situation in Iraq, saying, “All the detachments of the Iraqi Islamic Resistance have unanimously agreed and have chosen as the leader of the Islamic Resistance in Iraq the Prophet Muhammad, Messenger of God, may God’s peace and blessings be upon him.”

The statement said, “The Prophet Muhammad is our model in our current and future military operations, and we take our orders in the jihad and armed struggle against the infidels and crusaders from his noble sunnah practice. So whoever wishes, let him hasten to join us under the banner of the Master of the Prophets, Muhammad, may God’s peace and blessings be upon him.

The Iraqi Resistance statement concluded with the verse from the Qur’an: “What the Messenger the Prophet Muhammad has brought you, take it; and what he has forbidden you put an end to it.”

The correspondents for Mafkarat al-Islam in Iraq have noted that the letter from Usamah bin Ladin calling on the Iraqi Resistance to unite under Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi met with great opposition among the various Iraqi Resistance organizations, and the letter almost led to a division of opinion in al-Fallujah, Mosul, and other Iraqi cities.

Eight Zionist agents killed.

Eight Zionist Mossad agents were killed when Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked them near the al-Hamra’ Hotel in the al-Jadiriyah area of south Baghdad on Sunday.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked the Babil Agency Company for international exchages at about 12 noon Sunday. In recent days the Resistance had been informing the people of Baghdad that the Babil Company was a cover for agents of the Zionist Mossad secret police, as could be seen from the unprecedented security protection provided to the Company by US and puppet police security ﾐ a level of security not enjoyed by any other foreign presence.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Resistance had been informed about the true nature of the Zionist front company by a foreign hostage, who told them that the Jewish agents of the company were using false names to buy land and houses in Baghdad.

At noon on Sunday, therefore, Resistance fighters armed with rocket-propelled grenades, hand grenades, and medium weapons attacked two carloads of the Mossad agents as they left the company building. Eight Zionist agents were killed instantly. Four Iraqi puppet policemen were also killed when they clashed with the Resistance fighters during the attack. Two of the Resistance fighters were martyred and four others wounded.

The Brigades of Martyr Ahmad Yasin declared that it was responsible for the attack, which they called “revenge for the martyr shaykh” in a communiqu that was distributed Sunday evening in a mosque in the south Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

Resistance ambush targets CIA personnel.

Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with rocket launchers and BKC machine guns attacked a US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) column on Airport Road opposite the al-Furat neighborhood at about 10:30am Sunday, destroying a GMC command car and a Humvee and disabling a second GMC. Eight US troops were killed and five more wounded. Among the dead Americans was a US official. Two Resistance fighters were also martyred in the engagement. US forces sealed the roads leading to the area after the attack and then hauled away the wreckage.

Bomb attack in al-‘Adl.

A heavy Iraqi Resistance bomb planted in the middle of American barbed wire near the central markets in Baghdad’s al-‘Adl neighborhood exploded at about 9am Sunday, destroying an armored vehicle and killing three US troops and wounding three more.

Resistance attacks in Abu Ghurayb.

A heavy Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded on the Old Street in Abu Ghurayb at about 7am Sunday, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle and killing two US troops and wounding two more.

Turkish drivers killed as they tried to supply fuel to US occupation troops.

Iraqi Resistance roadside bombs exploded and destroyed two Turkish fuel trucks in the Hur al-Basha area on a branch of the Tigris River at 3:40pm Sunday, killing four persons, believed to be Turkish truck drivers, aboard the vehicles.

Resistance attacks in ar-Ridwaniyah.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in the middle of a dirt road in the Duwaylibah area of ar-Ridwaniyah, west of Baghdad at about 8:15am Sunday, destroying a Humvee and killing four US troops.

Two Iraqi Resistance bombs planted in the middle of a dirt road in the al-Qatta‘ area of ar-Ridwaniyah exploded at about 11:40am Sunday, blasting a Bradley armored vehicle in two and sending parts of the vehicle flying through the air, according to eye witnesses. Three US troops were killed in the attack.

Resistance attack in as-Suwayrah.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded on the al-Mudakhkhat Street in as-Suwayrah, south of Baghdad at 11am Sunday, destroying a Humvee and killing three US troops aboard it.

Resistance bombing in al-Mushahadah.

Two Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded in the al-Mushahadah area near the river at about 9:30am Sunday, destroying an Abrams tank and killing three US troops and seriously wounding two more. US forces encircled the area and hauled away the wreckage.

Resistance amgush in al-Ghazaliyah.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded under a US column in al-Ghazaliyah at about 8:15am Sunday, destroying a US Humvee. Resistnace fighters then fired a rocket destroying a civilian truck loaded with supplies for the US occupation troops. Four US troops were killed in the attack and two more were seriously wounded. American forces sealed off the area for two hours in order to haul away the wreckage.

Resistance attacks in ad-Durah.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded on the highway in the south Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at about 10:30am Sunday, destroying a Humvee and killing four US troops.

Two gas containers exploded in a fuel station in Sukkaniya, the US base in ad-Durah, at 12:15pm Sunday, destroying two pickup trucks belonging to the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guards” and killing four puppet troops and severely wounding 21 more. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that a person driving a Nissan pickup put the two gas containers by the street and then fled to an unknown destination. After a large number of puppet guards gathered to inspect the gas containers, they exploded.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded in the middle of a dirt road in the al-Bu Hishmah area on the road to the al-Bakr US base in Balad, north of Baghdad at 12:30pm Sunday, destroying a Bradley armored vehicle and killing at least three US troops.

Resistance bomb destroys US supply truck in ash-Sha‘b.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb explode don the highway in the ash-Sha‘b area of Baghdad at 2:15pm Sunday, destroying a civilian truck loaded with supplies for the US occupation forces and killing one US soldier and wounding a second.

Puppet “national guards” get into fight, leaving three of them dead.

A fight broke out among members of the puppet “national guards” in the fuel station area of as-Sayyidiyah at 4pm Sunday. Three puppet guards were killed and four others severely injured.

Battle in al-Karakh District.

Fighting broke out between the Iraqi Resistance on the one side and US occupation forces and the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guards” on the other side, on Hayfa Street and in al-Mushahadah in Baghdad’s al-Karakh District at about 1:40pm Sunday. Three US troops and nine puppet guards were shot dead by Resistance BKC machinegun fire. Eleven more were wounded.

Resistance assassinates collaborator lackeys.

Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with Kalashnikov assault rifles attacked a lackey working for the US occupation troops as he left his home in the al-Jihad neighborhood of Baghdad at about 9:30am Sunday, killing him instantly.

Badr Brigade death squad kills three Sunnis in Baghdad.

Collaborator Shi‘ chauvinist Badr Brigade death squad gunmen in the al-Hurriyah ath-Thalithah area of Baghdad at about 11:15am Sunday, opened fire with Kalashnikov assault rifles on three Sunni Iraqis, killing them. It is believed that the names of the three Sunni individuals were on one of the hit lists that the Badr Brigade gunmen use for assassination of the enemies of the US occupation regime. According to eyewitnesses, nine other individuals were murdered in the last week by Badr Brigade death squads.

UN oversight body criticizes US management of Iraqi oil.

Diplomats in New York said on Saturday that an Observer Committee told the United Nations Security Council that the way the US administered Iraqi oil funds after the occupation of the country was “weak” and was plagued with problems in its supervision over the production of oil and the profits derived therefrom.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that to the Egyptian newspaper al-Ahram, said that Jean Pierre Halbutch, the head of the international observer body told the Security Council in a closed session about the results of supervision of the amounts of Iraqi oil production. The meeting discussed how the resultant income was being spent and the granting of non-competitive contracts to Halliburton, a US company formerly run by American Vice-President Dick Cheney.

A diplomat in the Security Council said that the problems involved in the US administration of Iraqi oil must be taken into consideration when deciding how to rule regarding the administration of the earlier Oil for Food Program, about which the US has recently raised a loud propaganda campaign.

Al-Latifiyah ﾐ al-Yusufiyah ﾐ al-Mahmudiyah.

Deadly Resistance ambush near al-Mahmudiyah.

Three Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded under a US military column in the as-Sayyid ‘Abdallah area west of al-Mahmudiyah and then Resistance fighters armed with BKC machine guns and C5K rockets at 1:30pm Sunday, local time. Two Bradley armored vehicles, two Humvees, and three trucks (two of them civilian and one military) were destroyed in the attack and 14 US troops killed. Anotehr eight more American troops were severely wounded. After the attack US troops encircled the area, killed six civilians and arrested 56 local area residents.

Resistance bombing in al-Iskandariyah.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded amidst US troops on foot in the al-Iskandariyah area south of al-Latifyah at about 3pm Sunday, killing six US soldiers and seriously wounding 10 more.

Bombing in al-Latifiyah.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded in the Amilihah area of al-Latifiyah at about 11:30am Sunday, destroying two Humvees and killing seven US troops.

Thirteen puppet guards found dead.

The bodies of 13 puppet so-called “Iraqi national guards” were discovered in al-Latifiyah at 7:30am Sunday. All had been shot to death.

Samarra’.

Exploding barrel kills US troops in Samarra’.

Iraqi Resistance forces detonated a garbage barrel in which explosives had been hidden at the moment that a US Humvee entered the industrial zone of Samarra’ at about 10:15am Sunday morning, witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam. The Humvee came in along with four other cars, intent on distributing leaflets to the local population and issuing what they called a “warning” over loudspeakers mounted on the vehicles against joining the Iraqi Resistance. Just as the lead US Humvee entered the area the barrel exploded right in front of it, killing all four US troops aboard.

Tikrit ﾐ Salah ad-Din Province.

Resistance attack targets US VIPs in Bayji.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded under a US column in Bayji, near Tikrit, 30km north of Baghdad and then Iraqi Resistance fighters opened fire on the Americans with rocket-propelled grenades at 3pm Sunday, local time.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb, planted under a platform for selling vegetables on the sidewalk near the street blew up and destroyed a US civilian car that was carrying what must have been important American personages. The US cars in the column were surrounded in front and back by an unusually heavy guard. Three of the Americans died in the blast, all those aboard the car.

The witnesses described how the charred bodies of the Americans were thrown into the street by the blast and then Resistance fighters fired four rockets at two Humvees, killing seven US troops and seriously wounding one more.

The witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam’s correspondent that they were the only ones to witness the attack. The US troops tried to arrest four civilians who happened to be in the area when the attack took place, but they were able to flee before the Americans got to them. Two Resistance fighters were martyred in the fighting that followed the bomb blast, the witnesses reported.

Resistance double bombing reportedly kills 10 US troops.

Iraqi Resistance fighters detonated two roadside bombs on a street leading to the al-Mawsil Middle School for Boys in the al-Islah az-Zira‘i section of downtown Mosul at 7:30am Sunday, totally destroying a US ZiL troop carrier and killing about nine American soldiers who were aboard it. A US armored vehicle that was following the ZiL, was disabled in the blast, killing another American soldier.

A source in the local puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam confirmed the casualties and said that the transport had been loaded with 12 US troops, all of whom belonged to a new force that arrived just recently in the city. The troops who escaped death were all wounded, the puppet police spokesman said.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance forces had earlier knocked on doors on the street where the attack occurred and asked residents not to go to work today (Sunday), nor to send their children to school, until after they were done with their attack. The Resistance was trying to prevent civilian casualties as often result when US troops respond to attacks by opening fire indiscriminately.

Resistance bombardments throughout Iraq on Sunday.

At 7:30am Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 82mm mortar rounds into the Palace of Congresses Convention Center opposite the ar-Rashid Hotel inside the Republican Palace area known to the American invaders as the “green zone” in Baghdad. The attack sent smoke rising into the sky and damaged the building.

At 7:30am Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired five 120mm mortar rounds into the headquarters of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” in at-Taji, north of Baghdad, sending clouds of smoke rising into the sky.

At about 10:30am Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired six mortar rounds into the US base in Saddam International Airport, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky.

At 12:30pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired five 82mm mortar rounds into the puppet so-called “Iraqi interior ministry” on Palestine Street in Baghdad, sending clouds of smoke rising into the sky.

At 1:55pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired three Katyusha rockets into the US Sukkaniya headquarters in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah, sending smoke rising into the air. Rescue helicopters were seen landing and taking off after the attack.

At 2:30pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired two Katyusha rockets into the US al-Bakr base in Balad north of Baghdad.

At 3:30pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired three 82mm mortar rounds into the British base at al-Mahawil in southern Iraq, sending smoke rising into the sky.

At 3:30pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired five Katyusha rockets into the US headquarters in ar-Rustamiyah in Baghdad, sending smoke rising into the sky.

At 4pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired two Katyusha rockets into the US military facility set up in the former headquarters of the military intelligence service of the Republic of Iraq in Baghdad’s al-A‘zamiyah neighborhood. The attack sent clouds of smoke rising into the sky and damaged the building.

At 4:30pm Sunday, Iraqi Resistance forces fired two Grad rockets into the US base in Saddam International Airport west of Baghdad, sending clouds of smoke rising into the sky.
