Sunday, 13 March 2005.

Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Ramadi.

US troops destroy internet caf, arrest owner, 11 visitors in ar-Ramadi.

In another effort to prevent genuine news and information about the situation in Iraq from reaching the outside world, US forces stormed an Internet caf in downtown ar-Ramadi at 9am local time Sunday morning. (Iraqi puppet troops also raided internet caf市 in the southern city of al-Hillah. See story below under Babil Province; al-Hillah.) Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the American troops arrested 11 Iraqis who happened to be there at the time and took them away to a nearby US military base.

The correspondent reported that one of those arrested in the American raid was the owner of the internet caf himself. He was charged with what the American invaders called “cooperating with an ‘Islamic terrorist’ website.”

The correspondent in ar-Ramadi reported an American Marine sergeant who gave his name as Jason saying “the arrest of the owner of the caf and his visitors followed surveillance of the activity of the caf that works to publish ‘terrorist’ news and sometimes code words and expressions that we thing are special signals for the ‘terrorists’ and a means for them to communicate with one another.”

The correspondent noted that the Americans totally demolished the internet caf after their raid, taking with them all the computers that were there.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomb kills four US troops in al-Fallujah Sunday afternoon as puppet troops go on red alert fearing more Resistance attacks.

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Sunday, Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded in the al-Jawlan neighborhood of western al-Fallujah, killing four US troops and wounding two more.

The correspondent reported that the bomb blew up next to a US foot patrol killing four Americans - the body of one of them completely shredded - and injuring two more. Their wounds were described as mortal.

After the attack, US forces encircled the area of the blast where they still were at the time the correspondent filed his report.

In response to the attack puppet Major General Salih al-‘Ibadi, the commander of the so-called “al-Fallujah protection force” told Mafkarat al-Islam that “attacks in al-Fallujah are making us think that the ghoul that we thought we had destroyed has come back again, despite the intense security measures taken on all entrances to the city.” Lest anyone conclude from those remarks that the Resistance was on the upsurge, the puppet officer quickly added, “but we won’t let this city or its people go back to the way it was, no matter how many casualties it costs us.”

The correspondent reported that, meanwhile, the puppet forces had raised the alert level to code red, the highest level of readiness. All leaves for the puppet troops have been cancelled as the puppet troops have been banned from taking trips to visit their families in Baghdad or southern Iraq.

Resistance pounds US base east of al-Fallujah Sunday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 7:15pm Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had fired seven powerful Tariq rockets into the US military base in the agricultural area east of al-Fallujah. The bombardment sent plumes of dense smoke and flames rising into the sky over the facility.

Resistance clashes with US troops northeast of al-Fallujah Sunday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces battled US occupation troops at an American checkpoint northeast of al-Fallujah for about 45 minutes beginning at about 10am local time Sunday morning and ending at about 10:45am. The local correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the extent of losses was unavailable.

Resistance bombards US camp west of al-Fallujah Sunday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 120mm mortar rounds at a US check point near the freezers belonging to Hajji Sami west of al-Fallujah about 4pm Sunday afternoon Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

US occupation forces left the al-‘Amiriyah compound south of al-Fallujah at dawn on Sunday. They also abandoned their concentration points at the Arab Equestrian School located in the area.

Al-Habbaniyah.

US forces raid schools, arrest teachers, staff for not observing Saturday holiday.

US occupation troops raided boys and girls primary and secondary schools in the city of al-Habbaniyah, 80km west of Baghdad on Saturday because faculty and staff there had refused to comply with the puppet regime’s orders to observe Saturday as a holiday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that US troops forced the children to leave their classes as they arrested school directors and teachers out of the classrooms.

The correspondent reported that US troops raided the Bilal al-Habashi Primary School for Girls, the Dhat as-Salasil School for Boys, the Muhammahd Rasul Allah Secondary School and a number of other educational establishments, terrorizing the children whom they threw out of classrooms, and arresting their teachers. The faculty and staff who were arrested were taken away to the US al-Habbaniyah base, charged with non-compliance with a puppet “government” order - the order to regard Saturday as an official holiday.

The correspondent reported that the families of the children responded to the American action by not sending their sons and daughters to school on Sunday - a regular school day - and by declaring a general strike until the school administrators and teachers are released.

For its part, the Iraqi Resistance issued a statement saluting the stand of the people of the city, regarding it as an act of moral support for the Resistance as the battle against what it calls the “army of apes and pigs” continues.

Oil pipeline blown up twice in al-Habbaniyah.

An oil pipeline carrying Iraqi oil to Jordan was blown up north of the touristic area in al-Habbaniyah on Sunday afternoon. The same pipeline had been blown up the day before, Saturday during the evening. The fires ignited by that attack were put out Sunday, whereupon the pipeline was attacked again.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bombardment set of numerous powerful explosions within the US base that could be heard all over the city. The correspondent wrote that US helicopters landed in the base and evacuated casualties. A translator collaborating with the Americans on the base confirmed to the correspondent that the Americans had taken casualties in dead and wounded as a result of the attack.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb kills four US troops in ad-Durah early Sunday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces detonated a bomb in the path of a US military patrol in the First al-Mahdiyah neighborhood in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at midday Sunday.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the blast, which took place at 1:30pm local time Sunday afternoon local time, destroyed a Humvee and killed four US troops instantly. The bomb that inflicted the casualties and damage had been planted by the side of the road leading to the al-Yarmuk School. A member of the puppet “national guard confirmed that four Americans were killed and one Humvee destroyed in the attack. He added that a fifth American soldier was also slightly wounded. He had been in the vehicle behind the one that was destroyed by the bomb.

US troops raid home of Sunni religious leader in Baghdad.

A correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad reported that US forces and their Iraqi puppet troops raided the house of Shaykh Harith ad-Darri, the General Secretary of the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars, the main organization representing Sunni religious leaders on Saturday night.

Shaykh ad-Darri is regarded as one of the most prominent patriotic figures in Iraq whose father is regarded as one of those who ignited a famous 1920 Revolt against the British colonialists by killing British Colonel Gerald Leachman in the Abu Ghurayb area. (Leachman, a British adventurer and “Arab expert” had arrived in British-occupied Iraq in early 1920 and proclaimed that the only way to deal with rebellious tribes that refused to submit to British rule was “wholesale slaughter.” Leachman himself was assassinated 11 August 1920. Translator’s note.) The ad-Darri tribe is the largest in Iraq and has a long history.

Shaykh Harith ad-Darri has opposed the US occupation and most recently refused to go along with the sham “elections” held at Washington’s insistence on 30 January, making him a prime target of the Americans’ wrath.

Two US mercenaries killed south of Baghdad Saturday.

The US embassy in occupied Baghdad announced on Sunday that two American mercenaries (whom they described as “contractors”) working in occupied Iraq were killed when an Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded under their vehicle as they were headed towards al-Hillah in Babil Province south of Baghdad on Saturday.

Reuters reported the US embassy spokesman who announced the deaths of the mercenaries as saying that a third “contractor” was wounded in the attack. All the mercenaries worked for the American security company Blackwater Security. The American Associated Press (AP) described Blackwater as “a North Carolina-based contracting firm that provides security for US State Department officials in Iraq.”

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance devastates US base in Samarra’ with unprecedented mortar bombardment.

Iraqi Resistance forces mounted what was described as the fiercest rocket attack ever on the US occupation headquarters west of Samarra’ on Sunday. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance forces fired about 42 mortar rounds into the American compound starting at about 8am Sunday morning local time. The Samarra’ correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bombardment set huge fires raging in the camp which residents of the city could see from the street outside without even having to go up to their rooftops to look. The flames rose some 20 meters into the sky and thick smoke billowed up out of the camp.

The violence of the explosions going off inside the American-occupied camp was so great that window glass in most houses within a kilometer of the base was shattered.

The correspondent reported that the Americans called in more than 15 helicopters to aid with evacuation of their numerous dead and wounded. Dozens of bodies were carried out in full view of all the city’s residents. The evacuation operation alone lasted about an hour and a half during which helicopters came and left, landed and took off laden with the casualties.

Balad.

Resistance shoots down US F-16 near Balad; American crew bails out.

Iraqi Resistance forces struck a US F-16 fighter bomber as it flew over Balad, 70km north of Baghdad on Sunday. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the city saw the American plane with its rear section on fire, flying at low altitude over the ground.

The Resistance group called the Salafi Squadrons of Abu Bakr declared their responsibility for the attack, saying that they struck the aircraft with a Russian made SAM-9 surface-to-air rocket. Witnesses confirmed that the crew of the aircraft bailed out by parachute near the US base that lies west of Balad.

The ad-Dulu‘iyah correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack took place at 4pm Sunday afternoon local time and also left four US troops dead and two more wounded.

Local residents who saw the attack reported that a group of Resistance fighters armed with light weapons and RPG7 anti-tank rockets attacked the US convoy of four Humvees and six trucks loaded with supplies at 4pm as it was on its way along the main street in ad-Dulu‘iyah to the main US base in the city. The attack set two of the trucks ablaze and killed four American troops and wounded two more, witnesses reported.

The bomb exploded under a US convoy mane up of several vehicles, destroying one giant Bradley armored vehicle, as they are known in Iraq, and instantly killing seven US troops inside it.

An Iraqi Resistance group called the Army of the Rightly Guided Ones (Jaysh ar-Rashidin) issued a communiqu that they distributed at a local mosque in which they took responsibility for the attack and threatened the Resistance with more painful blows this month.

Al-Hillah.

Resistance sharp shooter kills Polish occupation soldier on patrol in al-Hillah.

An Iraqi Resistance sharp shooter shot and killed a Polish occupation soldier in downtown al-Hillah, Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday. Witnesses told the local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that a Polish foot patrol was stopped in the middle of al-Hillah on a mission to search and comb the streets of the city looking for bombs that are frequently planted by the Iraqi Resistance. Suddenly one of the Polish soldiers was felled by an Iraqi sharp shooter’s bullet which struck him directly in the head, killing him instantly.

Witnesses in the area said that the attacker belonged to a Resistance group known as the Sharpshooter Squadron and that he had climbed to the top of a tall building on the street in order to target the invader troops. The sharpshooter actually fired two shots, the witnesses said. The first struck and killed a Polish soldier; the second missed another Pole who was standing next to the victim.

Occupation troops then completely encircled the area and mounted a search of the nearby rooftops within a radius of 1,000 to 100 meters, since Iraqi sniper rifles are believed to have a range of between 100 and 1,000 meters. The Poles found nothing except a piece of paper on a rooftop some 300 meters from where the soldier died on which was written, “Are you waiting for them to go into your women before your eyes?” - an apparent message directed at those who oppose or fail to join the Iraqi Resistance.

US troops raid internet caf市 in al-Hillah.

Iraqi puppet forces raided a number of internet caf市 in the city of al-Hillah south of Baghdad, arresting owners and visitors in the establishments. (US occupation forces also raided an internet caf in ar-Ramadi, see story above under al-Anbar Province; ar-Ramadi.)

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

American lackey deputy police chief assassinated in Mosul.

Iraqi Resistnace forces executed the top aide to the puppet police chief in Mosul along with two of his assistants at 9pm Saturday night local time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported Sunday.

Residents of Mosul reported that the Resistance attacked the car of the deputy police chief who is known for his total obedience and loyalty to the US occupation and its puppet regime, and for his severity in dealing with members of the Resistance and their families in the city. He would, for example, arrest everyone related in any way to a person suspected of being a Resistance fighter. In response to his approach, Iraqi Resistance fighters in Mosul had to send their wives, children, and other relatives far away from the city to keep them out of the American lackey’s grasp. The deputy police chief reportedly grew even more vicious after meeting with his boss, US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld on his last visit to Mosul.

Witnesses said that the deputy puppet police chief was found dead in his car along with two of his aides. They were killed by gunshots to the head and a piece of paper was found along with the bodies on which was written a passage from the Qur’an, “And we did not wrong them; rather it was they who wronged themselves.”

Tall ‘Afar.

Baby Gharib born an orphan after Americans gun down family on the way to the maternity hospital.

US forces killed members of an Iraqi family as they tried to get to a hospital during the night in “violation” of the curfew imposed on the city by the invaders.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the city of Tall ‘Afar, north of Baghdad reported on Sunday that the local man ‘Abd al-Wahid, his wife, and their 12-year old daughter were shot by US troops at 3am local time Sunday morning as they rushed to a hospital.

Neighbors told Mafkarat al-Islam that the woman woke up to find herself in labor in the middle of the night, forcing the family to set out for the city hospital, taking their only daughter along with them. The Americans had imposed a curfew on the city, making the trip a dangerous necessity.

A US military patrol was stopped at the end of a street along their route opened fire on the family car with no hesitation. The father and pregnant mother were killed instantly while American bullets ripped through the daughter’s head, seriously wounding her.

Iraqi puppet troops approached to investigate and secure the area and finding the car, they took the dead and dying to the local hospital. Dr. Ahmad ‘Abd al-Karim at the hospital reported that the mother had been killed by the gunshots but that they were able to surgically remove the baby in her womb safely. Dr. ‘Abd al-Karim said that the baby is in good health and resting in the infants’ ward in the hospital. The surgeon who worked on the baby’s older sister Maryam, however, described her as being “between life and death,” when he spoke to Mafkarat al-Islam.

Meanwhile, local residents buried the bodies of the father and mother amidst pledges to avenge their vicious murder by the American invaders.

At the time of writing, the correspondent said that Maryam was in critical condition in Tall ‘Afar General Hospital. Her little brother, born an orphan thanks to the Americans, was named Gharib ‘Abd al-Wahid by one of the doctors, and that name appeared on the announcement of his birth.

One of the local religious leaders of Tall ‘Afar pledged that he would take both children after they get out of hospital and raise and care for them, neighbors of the family told Mafkarat al-Islam.

Sources in the adh-Dhib Brigade of the Iraqi puppet army, set up by the Americans, said that the martyrdom attacker slammed his car into a US checkpoint in downtown Tall ‘Afar, killing 19 Americans and wounding a large number of others. Four Humvees were destroyed in the attack, some of them totally demolished.

US forces encircled the area of the attack and the correspondent reported that at the time of writing helicopters were coming in to evacuate the American casualties.

A source in the local puppet police said that the blast killed or wounded four Americans.

The correspondent reported local witnesses as saying that the Resistance had planted the bomb by the side of a side street leading to the Turcoman neighborhood.
