The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast left three US troops dead and a fourth so badly wounded that his injuries were described as “mortal.”

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported a member of the puppet so-called “Iraqi rapid deployment force” as saying that US troops found the body of the beheaded Marine, from the 4th Marine Division in an empty house at 7am Thursday.

The Americans had announced that one of their troops had gone missing in al-Anbar Province after an Iraqi Resistance attack on the US forces.

The US occupation forces announced on Thursday morning that one American was killed by a Resistance bomb south of Baghdad. Reuters reported that the American military said that the roadside bombing occurred on Wednesday but failed to indicate where the attack took place.

Negroponte departs Iraq.

US ambassador John Negroponte reportedly left Iraq on Thursday, ending a period of nearly nine months during which he served as US ambassador to the occupied country. Negroponte has been nominated by George Bush to become US national intelligence director.

The US embassy issued a statement that said that James Jeffrey, the charg d’affairs will take over the duties of the ambassador temporarily until a new US ambassador is appointed.

More German instructors depart for the UAE to train Iraqi puppet forces for Washington.

Germany announced on Thursday that it was sending more mil!!itary experts to the United Arab Emirates where they are working training Iraqi puppet police and military officers on behalf of the United States. Agence France Presse (AFP) reported that the German Defense Ministry said it was planning to send military engineers to prepare another class of Iraqi puppet military engineers.

The new batch of German instructors is to number about 68 in total. Twelve experts are planned to depart on Friday together with three translators. About 56 others are to join them on 25 April.

While many European states have balked at sending troops to help the US with its occupation of Iraq, all have agreed to train puppet forces for Washington. This arrangement allows the European regimes to avoid repercussions from their populations where intervention in Iraq is unpopular.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Balad.

Helicopter blown up, 15 Americans killed in complex Resistance attack in Balad.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column destroying one Humvee and killing four US troops in the al-Ishaqi area of the Balad district, Mafkarat al-Islam reported. After that attack, US forces called in helicopters that landed at the scene of the attack to evacuate the dead. Witnesses reported that a Resistance martyrdom fighter driving an explosives-laden car raced at speeds approaching 200km per hour into one of the helicopters and blew up.

The powerful explosion totally destroyed the helicopter and killed 11 more American troops who were evacuating the bodies or were just gathered around the area. Thus the total number of Americans killed in the complex attack was 15. Later, a captain in the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” reported that the number of dead had risen to 16.

At the time the correspondent compiled his report, posted at 10:25am Mecca time Thursday morning, the US and Iraqi puppet forces were still encircling the area of the attacks and had imposed a curfew on the residents of the area.

Balad city to name main street after martyred Mafkarat al-Islam writer.

To honor the memory of martyred Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent Khalid ‘Abd al-Jabbar “Abu Rim”, the citizens of the town of Balad have decided to name the city’s main street after the journalist who covered their struggle against the American occupiers.

A representative of Mafkarat al-Islam reported local notables as saying that “naming a street after this heroic journalist is simply an acknowledgement by the people of the city of what that journalist did for them. Through Mafkarat al-Islam he demonstrated that there is more than one Fallujah in Iraq striking blows at the occupation.”

It is expected that the old street sign, which read “Baghdad Street,” will be replaced with one reading “Martyr Khalid ‘Abd al-Jabbar Street” in honor of the writer.

The representative of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that this gesture was one of the most beautiful memorials received by the martyr’s family. The martyr left behind a small daughter, Rim, aged nine months.

(For earlier stories about and by the Martyr Khalid ‘Abd al-Jabbar, see Iraqi Resistance Report, Wednesday, 16 March 2005, “Abu Rim, correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, joins the ranks of the martyrs as Americans gun him down for filming US helicopters ablaze.” And Iraqi Resistance Report, Tuesday, 15 March 2005, “Heavy fighting lights up Tuesday night near Balad,” and the continuation of that report headlined, “Resistance shoots down two US helicopters in Battle of Balad, as city pours out to fight the American invaders. .”)

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US military column made up of several armored vehicles and blew himself up in the al-Basatin (“gardens”) area north of at-Tarimiyah at 8:30am Thursday morning, local time. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast destroyed a US armored vehicle, disabled a Humvee, killed seven US troops, and wounded three more.

Iraqi puppet police who showed up at the scene of the attack said that the attack car had been a puppet police car that had disappeared from the city three days before - together with four puppet policemen.

The correspondent reported that US troops came to the scene to evacuate their dead and wounded, but that after they left, parts of one more dismembered American body were found and that local dogs tore those remains apart.

Workers in a fuel station in Bayji who witnessed the attack told the correspondent that the bomb had been planted by the side of the road, and they confirmed the casualty count of three Americans dead and five wounded.

After the blast US forces as usual encircled the area and called in a helicopter to carry away the dead and wounded.

Four powerful explosions rocked the facility after the bombardment.

An-Najaf Province.

An-Najaf.

Muqtada as-Sadr calls for solidarity between Sunni and Shi‘i against Jewish plots.

Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr issued a statement that was circulated in the southern Iraq province of an-Najaf in which he said that any government formed in Iraq that does not demand the departure of the occupation is a puppet government with no legitimacy.

The statement, signed by Muqtada as-Sadr, a copy of which was received by Mafkarat al-Islam, said that rationality and wisdom were necessary and that they must not allow themselves to be dragged behind the west and involved its plots.

In the statement issued on Thursday, as-Sadr pledged that he would not participate in the political game or in writing the constitution so long as the occupation continue.

The Shi‘i religious leader called on the Shi‘i population to stand shoulder to shoulder with the Sunnis in opposing Jewish plots in the country.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

Resistance bombards US Camp Bucca prison camp.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired nine powerful Grad rockets into the US Camp Bucca prison camp Thursdday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported sources in the puppet police and puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” as saying that the nine rockets struck the northern parts of the prison, where US and British forces are concentrated, at 10am Thursday morning.

The sources reported that the barrage set off powerful explosions within the compound. Sirens could be heard wailing inside as British artillery in al-Basrah returned fire at what it thought were the sources of the Resistance rockets. The British barrage, however, produced no casualties, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

Meanwhile, a liaison officer working with British and Iraqi puppet forces told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance bombardment inflicted heavy casualties among the British and American soldiers and many guards working in the camp. In response to a question regarding the number of casualties, the officer simply said, “dozens of dead and wounded and heavy material damage as well.”
