Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Haqlaniyah.

Resistance bomb kills four US troops in al-Haqlaniyah Thursday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of six armored vehicles and three Humvees in al-Haqlaniyah, west of Baghdad, at 3pm Thursday afternoon Baghdad time. The local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the blast destroyed one US armored vehicle and killed four American troops, wounding a fifth seriously.

Local residents who saw the bombing reported that the explosive device was planted by the side of the road linking al-Haqlaniyah with al-Hadithah. They said the bomb went off by the column as it passed, inflicting the above-mentioned destruction and casualties.

Afterwards, US troops opened fire indiscriminately on passing cars, striking and wounding one civilian.

For about one week, US forces have been carrying out a broad military campaign against cities in al-Anbar Province, including al-Haqlaniyah.

Ar-Ramadi.

US offers reward of half a million dollars for captured American soldier in ar-Ramadi.

US occupation forces distributed leaflets in ar-Ramadi, west of Baghdad, on Thursday calling on the people for help in finding an American soldier taken prisoner by the Iraqi Resistance. The leaflets, one of which was obtained by the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam said that the soldier, “Steve,” a US Marine was taken prisoner in fighting a week ago in eastern ar-Ramadi.

The US military offered a reward of US$500,000 for anyone providing information that helps to find “Steve.” The American leaflet addressed the people of ar-Ramadi saying, “Steve loves you and peace, help set him free.”

At the same time, the leaflet threatened to search homes and shops and to close streets if the American prisoner is not handed over or if no one comes forward to help with his hand over.

Al-Fallujah.

Fifteen beheaded bodies of US troops captured during offensive on al-Fallujah found in local land fill.

US occupation forces on Thursday morning discovered the remains of 15 US troop killed during the Battle of al-Fallujah late in 2004. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a member of the Iraqi puppet police said that the Americans had found the bodies in the stone quarry (al-Maqali‘) area at the end of the ash-Shuhada’ neighborhood on the south side of the city. It is an area where the municipality dumps and buries city garbage. The source said that the bodies had rotted completely apart and some of them had been partly eaten by the many wild dogs that inhabit the southern outskirts of al-Fallujah. The source said he observed that all the bodies were headless, indicating that they had been executed, a confirmation of the fact that they were taken prisoner during the siege of the city and not killed in battle.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam observed the Americans clearing the area of the bodies amidst extremely tight security so that the story of the find not leak out. The order from the Americans not to disclose the story came in very late to the puppet police, and therefore the correspondent was able to get information about the discovery from a source in the puppet police before he learned that the Americans had ordered that he not under any circumstances disclose the news.

Baghdad.

Resistance raids puppet police station in ad-Durah, frees 10 captive Resistance fighters, kills 16 puppet police Thursday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah attacked the main puppet police station in ad-Durah with rocket-propelled grenades and 62mm mortars at about 11:30am Thursday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

The attack left 16 puppet police dead and set free 10 Iraqi Resistance fighters who had been locked up in the police station. The fighters had been captured in fighting in al-Latifiyah south of Baghdad on Tuesday and they were set to be sent to Abu Ghurayb prison camp in Baghdad where Resistance prisoners are tried.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent who rushed to the scene of the attack spoke with a puppet police captain who said that five medium-sized mortar rounds struck the station and just five minutes later between 20 and 30 Resistance fighters with their faces covered attacked. The Resistance fighters fired rocket-propelled grenades and medium- and light-weight machine guns, killing 16 puppet policemen, and liberating 10 Resistance fighters. The puppet police captain confirmed that they had been captured two days earlier in al-Latifiyah and were supposed to be sent to Abu Ghurayb prison.

Witnesses told the correspondent that there would have been more puppet policemen killed in the attack but most of them fled from the Resistance fighters who attacked fearlessly as if they were ready to die.

At the time he filed his report, posted at 12:45pm Thursday afternoon Mecca time, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that US troops and Iraqi puppet forces had surrounded the area and were searching nearby houses and streets for any clues that would help them identify the attackers.

Resistance bomb in Abu Ghurayb area kills four US troops Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of several US Humvees in the as-Samilat area north of Abu Ghurayb (30km west of Baghdad) at about 9:30am Thursday morning. The explosion killed four US troops and seriously injured a fifth.

Witnesses told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb, which was a high-explosive device, had been planted by the side of the road and that the blast was so powerful that it blew one soldier completely out of the Humvee. His body was found with his skull completely crushed.

The Salafi Squadrons of ar-Rahman announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqu distributed after midday prayers in mosques in Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance bombards headquarters of SCIRI in Baghdad, killing 10 Badr Brigade collaborator gunmen.

In a dispatch posted at 2:45pm Mecca time Thursday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance a short while before had bombarded the headquarters of the collaborationist so-called Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) which is led by ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim in the al-Jadiriyah area of Baghdad with 120mm mortar rounds. The attack killed and wounded a large number of Shi‘i chauvinist gunmen of the Badr Brigade, the armed wing of SCIRI.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam who hurried to the scene reported that five 120mm mortar rounds had blasted into the SCIRI headquarters according to sources in the puppet police, who said that the bombardment killed 10 Badr Brigade gunmen and wounded about 30 more.

At the time the correspondent filed his report US troops and puppet police had surrounded the area.

The correspondent noted that SCIRI has set up its headquarters in the house of Iraqi Vice President Tariq ‘Aziz on the banks of the Tigris River in al-Jadiriya. Many collaborator organizations that, like SCIRI, joined in the American invasion of Iraq, simply took over property belonging to the Arab Baath Socialist Party or Iraqi officials when the Americans installed them in occupied Baghdad.

Thursday’s attack on SCIRI headquarters was the fourth such assault this month and the eighth since the last car bombing of the occupied facility.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Tikrit.

Four American troops killed by Resistance bombing in Tikrit Thursday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded on 40 Street in the al-Ba‘th Neighborhood near the Saddam School (now renamed Tikrit School) in Tikrit 320km north of Baghdad at about 8am Thursday morning local time.

A source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” told Mafakrat al-Islam that the bomb was planted in the middle of 40 street under a sewer cover and exploded when a Humvee ran over it. The blast totally destroyed the Humvee and killed four US troops and wounded one more ミ the extent of his injuries being unknown.

The correspondent witnessed US vehicles surrounding the scene of the attack and evacuating the wreckage of the Humvee and the bodies.

Diyala Province.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance car bomb leaves eight Americans dead in Jalula’.

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a US military vehicle column in Jalula’, north of Ba‘qubah (which is east of Baghdad). Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a white Volkswagen into the column and blew up just as the Americans were getting ready to turn around and return to base, after having patrolled around the neighborhood for two full hours.

Witnesses said that the explosion totally destroyed two Humvees and disabled a third and killed eight US soldiers and wounded four more. US forces and Iraqi puppet police then encircled the entire area. A source in the puppet police confirmed that eight Americans were killed and four more wounded in the attack that, he said, inflicted “great destruction” among the US vehicles.

Meanwhile sources in the city Hospital said that they found the body of the martyrdom fighter and confirmed that he was a local man. The sources said that the man’s family picked up their son’s body and buried him in the Martrys’ Cemetery east of the city. The total number of martyrs killed in the struggle against the American invaders and buried in the cemetery has thereby reached 102, according to local people’s statistics.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Fighting leaves 11 US troops dead in Mosul Thursday morning.

Intermittant clashes between an estimated 40 Resistance fighters and US Marines broke out in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood in the northeast of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at about 9am Thursday morning, witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam.

Residents of al-Mu‘allimin, the laragest neighborhood of the city, told Mafkarat al-Islam that in addition to their usual deadly arsenal, the American occupation forces were using a narcotic nerve gas in their fight with the Resistance. The Resistance fighters, for their part were armed with their usual weapons ミ grenade launchers, machine guns, and shoulder-fired rocket launchers.

The fighting lasted for a full hour and left 11 American troops dead and four more wounded as well as three Humvees destroyed. A field commander of a fighting detachment in the Iraqi Resistance told the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam that four fighters, one of them a fraternal Arab volunteer, were martyred in the battle.

After the fighting ended, the correspondent also met with one Marine who boasted, “we killed 30 of their gunmen and captured all their weapons but we also lost a number of dead and wounded in the battle.”

The Director of Mosul Hospital said that no bodies had been brought into his facility, other than those of four Resistance fighters. An official at the Martyrs’ Cemetery confirmed the same figures, dismissing the idea that any more than four had been killed in the morning fighting. The Martyrs’ Cemetery is the only cemetery for martyrs in the city of Mosul.

For its part the puppet so-called “Iraqi army” set up and run by the US occupation showed up on the scene during the fighting. A source in that organization said that one of their members ミ an officer with the rank of captain ミ was killed in the Thursday morning combat, which, he said, left 11 Americans dead and four more wounded and three Humvees destroyed.

In his report, posted at 10:14am Thursday morning Mecca time, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent said that at the time of writing, US forces had surrounded the area where the battle took place and for the first time were allowing journalists to approach the scene. They allowed the correspondents in, however, only after first hauling away the wreckage of the three Humvees and evacuating the bodies of the American dead and the wounded. They then blustered to the press that they had killed 30 Resistance fighters.

Resistance shoots down unmanned US spy plane Thursday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 5:13pm Thursday afternoon Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance forces had shot down an unmanned spy plane over Mosul. The pilotless drone had been flying at moderate altitude over the roofs of houses in the city, observing and photographing when it was struck by anti-aircraft fire from a Russian-made Dmitrov heavy anti-aircraft machine gun. The plane fell into a farm field where the Resistance took possession of the wreckage.
