By: Muhammad Abu Nasr on: 29.03.2005 [06:44 ] (103 reads)

Monday, 28 March 2005.

Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance shelling drives US to abandon barracks near ar-Ramadi. Americans throw local families out of their homes and move in, using civilians as human shields.

US forces abandoned one of their barracks in ar-Ramadi at dawn on Monday after intensive rocket bombardments blasted the facility throughout last week.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam quoted US Marine Sergeant who gave his name as Dudin as saying that the US forces were leaving their position in the glass and ceramic factory behind the al-Warrar Bridge west of ar-Ramadi after it came under numerous attacks by the Iraqi Resistance. The American sergeant said that the Marines would “continue to exert control over the area with the help of Iraqi puppet forces from another barracks that we will work to make available at a later time.”

Witnesses said that at 10am Monday morning, the US forces threw out families from three houses near the factory and then settled into them, setting up observation posts on their roofs to watch and prevent local residents from leaving the street on which they have now settled in. The Americans thus are using the civilians living in the neighborhood as human shields hoping that the Resistance will not want to risk harming the families to attack the Americans settled in among them.

After throwing the three families out of their homes, the Americans told them that they would receive compensation for their houses, in an amount sufficient to allow them to rent housing in other parts of the city.

Al-Fallujah.

Iraqi Resistance announces new, home-made rocket: as-Sijjil.

The Consultative Council of the Mujahideen of al-Fallujah issued a communiqu on Monday in which themilitary command of the Council announced that the Iraqi Resistance had succeeded in producing their first locally-made rocket since the battle of al-Fallujah. The statement reported that the new surface-to-surface rocket has been dubbed “as-Sijjil”, and said that, God willing, it would soon be used to “take the wind out of the sails” of the occupation.

The statement said that the development also serves as a refutation of claims recently made by the US invaders and their Iraqi stooge regime that the Resistance was “breathing its last” as they claimed. The statement noted that Resistance will continue so long as the occupation remains.

The statement also appealed to all Iraqis and the Muslims of the Arab countries not to be confused and believe in the Americans’ feverish campaign to distort the image of the Resistance, forgetting who it was that broke their arrogant power on the ground in Iraq.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance bomb kills US soldier Monday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a US military column in the middle of al-Qa’im in western Iraq on the Syrian border at 4pm Monday afternoon local time. A source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb killed one US soldier and wounded four more.

Baghdad.

Resistance liquidates puppet police colonel in ad-Durah.

A source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi interior ministry” announced Monday that two members of the puppet police, one of them a colonel, were assassinated on Monday southwest of Baghdad. Reuters quoted an officer in the puppet “ministry” who asked to remain anonymous as saying that Resistance fighters blocked the road before the car carrying Colonel ‘Abd al-Karim al-Fahd as he was on his way to work and fired a hail of bullets at the vehicle, killing al-Fahd and his driver instantly.

The source said that the puppet colonel was the director of the Bulat ash-Shuhada’ puppet police and that the attack took place in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

Resistance bomb kills six US troops in Abu Ghurayb area Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 6:55pm Mecca time Monday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the Abu Munaysir area west of Abu Ghurayb. The correspondent reported that the bomb was planted in the Abu Munaysir neighborhood by the side of the road leading to the as-Samilat area. It blew up by a passing US foot patrol, killing six American soldiers and wounding four more.

The correspondent reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the bomb was concealed under a pile of cow dung and exploded as the American foot patrol was passing, killing six and wounding four of the US troops.

Witnesses said that US troops killed one man at the scene after the blast. The Iraqi man found that one of the Americans was still alive and threw him in the Tigris River, and then other Americans unleashed a hail of bullets at him, killing him.

The family of the man assured Mafkarat al-Islam that he had had no connection with the Iraqi Resistance, but he wished that he were one of them.

First Army of Muhammad takes credit for shooting down US helicopter Sunday night. US military mouthpieces deny crash, claim buried Iraqi munitions exploded.

In a follow-up to the story of the Resistance downing of a US helicopter over the Baghdad district of al-A‘zamiyah on Sunday night, a correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam went to the area where the American aircraft went down near the al-Bakr School for Military Studies - a facility formerly run by the Army of the Republic of Iraq until the US invasion. There he met with a member of the Iraqi puppet police who confirmed that the two-man crew of the American helicopter were killed in the crash and that their bodies were found on the roof of the building next to the one on which the helicopter crashed.

The source said that US forces insisted that no information be published about the crash of the helicopter whatsoever. But the aircraft was shot down in the heart of Baghdad and in one of the most important neighborhoods of the occupied capital at that.

US forces closed off the area and tried to convince journalists and crowds who gathered around the al-Bakr school (where the helicopter went down) that the explosion they heard came from ammunition that had been buried by the old Iraqi Army under the schoolyard.

The source, who asked to remain anonymous, told Mafkarat al-Islam that the people and the journalists were unconvinced by the American propaganda story since they could see the flames that were coming from the body of the helicopter burning atop the roof of the building.

On Monday, an Iraqi Resistance organization, the First Army of Muhammad, took responsibility for the downing of the helicopter.

Resistance attack leaves 13 Badr Brigade gunmen dead in eastern Baghdad.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked the offices of the Shi‘i chauvinist collaborationist organization the so-called “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) in the east of Baghdad, killing 13 members of SCIRI’s armed wing the Badr Brigades.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Baghdad reported that Resistance fighters armed with shoulder fired rockets, and medium and light-weight machine guns attacked the Badr Brigade collaborator facility at about 1pm Monday afternoon, Baghdad time. Among the Badr Brigade gunmen killed in the attack was Nazim Mahud, the head of the Brigade in the eastern district of Baghdad, according to a source in the puppet police.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that a number of Resistance fighters - some said about 10 men - their faces covered, parked cars at the end of the street on which the offices are located and got out. They proceeded to the Badr Brigade offices and attacked.

Witnesses said that the specific reason for the attack was that two days earlier the Badr Brigades had attacked a Sunni Muslim working as a caretaker of one of the city mosques. Gunmen beat the man with sticks and clubs in the middle of the street, calling him a “Wahhabi” and making the unlikely claim that he had said something against the descendants of the Prophet (unconditional reverence for whom is an article of faith for the Shi‘ah, though they are also respected by the Sunnis.)

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam noted that Resistance groups had previously warned the so-called Badr Brigades that they would be killed and evicted from their houses if they attacked any Sunni simply because he was a Sunni in Baghdad or the southern provinces.

Witnesses said that the puppet police surrounded the Badr Brigade offices after the attack and interrogated several local people in the hopes of finding some clue as to the identity of the attackers. But the witnesses told the correspondent that their interrogations yielded the police nothing because everyone in the area hates the Badr Brigades because of their behavior.

Babil Province.

Al-Yusufiyah.

Resistance bombardment blasts market on US base in al-Yusufiyah, Monday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired a rocket barrage into the US occupation headquarters in the city of al-Yusufiyah, south of Baghdad at 3pm Monday afternoon local time. The Resistance rockets blasted into the eastern parts of the base, destroying a market inside the base and killing and wounding several US troops, Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources inside the base as saying.

The correspondent reported that fires continued to blaze inside the American camp for a full hour after the attack. US helicopters came in to take part in the effort to put out the fire.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Bayji.

Five US troops killed in bombing by Bayji gas pipeline.

In a dispatch posted at 11:05am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by US vehicles as they drove around an area next to a gas line west of Bayji witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam. The correspondent reported that military ambulances arrived on the scene and pulled five bodies of dead US troops from the scene before the eyes and ears of everyone there, including the drivers of two trucks, one Syrian and another Jordanian that were loaded with crude oil from the main Bayji refinery.

An officer in the puppet police in the city told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb was a high-explosive artillery shell planted next to the road. When it blew up, it totally destroyed the American troops’ vehicle and killed the five US soldiers.

Samarra’.

$10 million reward money no help to him now: Resistance liquidates man who led Americans to Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan.

Iraqi Resistance forces liquidated Mushin Karim, a man who had informed US occupation forces of the whereabouts of Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan, leading to his capture and later torture by the American invaders. After his services to the invaders, the Americans had given Karim US$10 million in reward money.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in Samarra’ reported that Karin fled Iraq after receiving the reward money, but he later returned to bring out his family. But the Iraqi Resistance caught up with him and killed him in front of the Samarra’ City Center in the al-Qal‘ah area at about 9am on Monday.

The correspondent reported that four with machine guns attacked the informer as he drove his late model Mercedes, killing him on the spot. Puppet police found the body of the traitor with a note written on a piece of paper saying “this is the recompense for those who appoint an infidel to kill a Muslim.”

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Four US troops killed by Resistance bomb in Tall ‘Afar Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a passing US patrol in the government housing neighborhood of Tall ‘Afar in northern Iraq on Monday morning. A source in the puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed one US Humvee and killed four American troops instantly. Witnesses told the correspondent that three Resistance fighters had planted the bomb at 7am Monday morning and it went off by the American patrol at about 8:30am, killing the four US soldiers and totally destroying their Humvee.

Mosul.

Resistance bomb targets car full of “civilian” Defense Department employees on inspection tour of Mosul.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a column of US armored vehicles with a black civilian Chevrolet in the middle as the procession went through the as-Sikak neighborhood of western Mosul.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city reported that the blast targeted the Chevrolet as it passed, completely destroying it and killing all inside. A source in the Iraqi puppet police told the correspondent that the car was carrying “civilian” employees of the American Defense Department who were on an inspection tour of the city.

Witnessses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance planted the bomb by the side of the road early in the morning and remained there awaiting the arrival of the column. They were certain that the target of the attack was the “civilian” car. They said that three US military vehicles passed the bomb without it exploding. It only went off by the black Chevrolet. A source in the puppet police confirmed that the bomb had been detonated by remote control.

Meanwhile, US occupation forces claimed to have found and disarmed four other bombs planted on various roads in Mosul. A spokesman for the US military said that the Resistance had planted bombs on all the possible streets along which the motorcade might pass on Monday. The American representative, who spoke on the US military’s radio program beamed to US occupation troops within the country, said he could not exclude the possibility that there might be more bombs as yet undiscovered in the city.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Kirkuk.

Six Americans reported killed in Resistance bombardment of US base in Kirkuk airport.

In a dispatch posted at 2:20pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four rockets into Kirkuk International Airport, now occupied by US forces who have turned it into their main base in the area. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a member of the joint coordination committee between the US invaders and the Iraqi puppet troops as saying that the Resistance bombardment destroyed a Humvee and an ammunition depot, killing six Americans.

Witnesses who live in the area around the airport told Mafkarat al-Islam that the attack sent flame and smoke rising into the sky over the American-occupied facility. Afterwards the sound of several explosions shook the city.

Irbil Province.

Irbil.

Resistance car bombing leaves nine Kurdish chauvinist gunmen dead.

Nine members of the Kurdish chauvinist Peshmergah militia were killed Tuesday evening when an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives laden car into the Peshmergah headquarters in the northern Iraqi city of Irbil.

Local residents who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that the martyrdom fighter drove a white pickup at the Peshmergah headquarters and exploded among a group of Peshmergah gunmen standing outside the main gate. The attack, which took place at 6pm local time Monday evening, killed nine Peshmergah gunmen instantly and wounded more who were taken to Irbil Hospital in Peshmergah ambulances.

At the time of reporting no Resistance group had publicly claimed responsibility for the attack.
