Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Qa’im.

Resistance forces in liberated al-Qa’im defy US aircraft, hold military parade.

The Iraqi Resistance organization the First Army of Muhammad staged a military parade and review in the free city of al-Qa’im on Saturday to herald the liberation of the city on Thursday from the hands of the US occupation. American forces have for two days been trying to break back into the city but have failed, despite the news blackout that covers all their operations in the area and on the liberation of the city.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in al-Qa’im reported witnesses as saying that more than 200 Resistance fighters held a military parade on the city’s main street, carrying Iraqi flags and the black banners of the Army called “the Punishment.”

The fighters also displayed their heavy weapons and anti-aircraft rockets of the Strela type, C5K rockets, RPG7 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades as they marched to the outskirts of the city to demonstrate that the city is indeed free of US occupation.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam noted that during the parade, no US helicopters, nor even any American fighter planes dared to fly over the city. They were in the air but kept to such very high altitudes that it was even difficult to see them, as they feared attack by surface-to-air rockets.

The Commander of the First Army of Muhammad read an announcement in which he declared the determination of the Army of Muhammad to fight to the last man, “until victory or martyrdom!”

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance barrage kills 14 US Marines early Saturday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces gave US troops a rude awakening on the second anniversary of their occupation of Baghdad when Resistance fighters blasted the US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi with 22 mortar rounds at 4am. The bombardment set huge fires blazing in the American-occupied facility as secondary explosions followed the initial blasts when American fuel and munitions began igniting.

The corresponded for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Captain Ahmad Isma‘il of the so-called “terrorist repression force” said that the Resistance barrage killed 14 US Marines and destroyed several vehicles in the eastern part of the US base.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bombardment blasts US base east of al-Fallujah Saturday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired nine Grad rockets into the US base east of al-Fallujah at 8am Saturday morning, focusing their attack on the western parts of the US-occupied facility.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses in the city as saying that after the nine Resistance rockets blasted the base they heard four powerful secondary explosions of US munitions or fuel blowing up. Two plumes of smoke and flame rose into the sky and warning sirens could be heard wailing inside the camp.

The correspondent met with Captain Jawad ‘Abd Kazim of the puppet so-called “rapid deployment force” who confirmed the report, adding that the nine Grad rockets destroyed a number of US vehicles inside the US base in the agricultural area, killing and wounding several US troops. The Captain did not disclose precise numbers.

Hit.

Car bomb kills seven US troops in Hit.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US military column at 12 noon local time Saturday in Hit, west of Baghdad. A source in the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast killed seven American soldiers and wounded four more.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the booby-trapped pickup struck a column of seven American vehicles, destroying one Zil troop transport and disabling one Humvee.

For their part the Salafi Squadrons of Abu Bakr announced their responsibility for the attack in a communiqu distributed in a number of mosques in Hit. The communiqu said that the attack was a present for the children of the martyrs on the anniversary of the US occupation.

Al-Hadithah.

Resistance liquidates puppet police chief in al-Hadithah Saturday.

The Iraqi puppet police announced that Iraqi Resistance forces had shot and killed the commander of the puppet police in the town of al-Hadithah in western Iraq. The sources, quoted by Mafkarat al-Islam, said that the puppet police chief was killed after holding a meeting with US forces on Saturday. Reuters reported that Ziyad al-Jawghithi had been appointed chief of the puppet police in al-Hadithah earlier in April

Baghdad.

Resistance blasts US base in Saddam International Airport with heavy bombardment.

In a dispatch posted at 11:15am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Iraqi Resistance forces were violently bombarding the US forces occupying Saddam International Airport with mortars and powerful Grad rockets. The Resistance barrage was targeting the central and eastern parts of the US base.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that dense clouds of smoke were rising over the airport as numerous helicopters hovered around and American artillery began to respond to the Resistance shells and rockets that appeared to be launching from Abu Ghurayb.

Resistance blasts Abu Ghurayb prison camp in ferocious attack.

In a dispatch posted at 12:10pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that moment Iraqi Resistance forces were bombarding the Abu Ghurayb prison camp with an ferocious barrage of rockets unlike any attack since the major Resistance assault on the US prison last week. The attack is striking the east, west, and north of the American prison camp.

The correspondent reported witnesses as saying that rockets were raining down heavily on the prison, so many that it was difficult to count them. They were being launched from overgrown territory of the Zawbi‘ tribe west of the prison, and from the Abu Munaysir area and the as-Samilat area north of the prison.

US fighter aircraft were attempting to battle the sources of the fire but were so far unsuccessful as dense clouds of smoke enveloped the notorious American facility. For its part, the Abu Ghurayb mosque proclaimed “God is greatest!” four times in the city after the bombardment got underway. The shelling was still under way at the time of writing, the correspondent noted.

Iraqi Resistance organizations promise to “celebrate” second anniversary of US occupation in “their own way.”

The armed Iraqi Resistance organizations issued a statement on Saturday that was distributed throughout Baghdad and the Sunni provinces of the country in which they said that Sunnis would mark the passing of two years of occupation in their own way.

“Today the Sunnis in Iraq, the heroes of the Resistance and noble Iraqis are marking the anniversary in their own way ミ not merely with false demonstrations or ringing slogans,” the statement said.

“Today we will shake the earth under their feet. Today the occupation will know what kind of country they have tread upon with their feet and what kind of religion they have tried to wipe out with their democracy. Today until sunset we will celebrate in our own way and all honorable people are called upon to celebrate as well,” the statement added.

The statement concluded saying, “this will be something you will actually see today, not merely hear about, because our operations will affect all Iraqi territory.”

Followers of Sufi Shaykh form Armed Resistance Organization join the fight against the US occupation.

A new Iraqi Resistance armed organization announced its recent formation in a statement distributed around mosques in the city of Baghdad and al-Anbar Province on Saturday. The Sufi Jihadi Squadrons of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Gilani declared their establishment and announced that they had joined the other Resistance forces in the field fighting the US occupation.

The statement by the Sufi Squadrons read in part: “With the blessings of God the Exalted it has been announced in the capital of Harun ar-Rashid Baghdad today that the Jihadi Sufi Squadrons of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Gilani have been formed to join the rest of their brothers on the fields of combat against the tyrant America, drawing inspiration from the life of the Messenger of God Muhammad ミ may blessings and peace be upon him ミ and his lessons and teachings, and marching along one line together with the rest of the Jihadi Resistance organizations until such time as your Lord decrees the expulsion of the occupier from the occupied territory of Iraq.”

The statement went on: “Your brothers in the Squadron of ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Gilani have seized the day today to announce themselves as a combat force against the American occupation in Iraq, having previously limited ourselves to prayer and seeking guidance. It is God who is the source of success, before and after. He guides whom He wills to the path of the Mighty, Merciful God.”

The famous Sufi (Islamic mystic) teacher ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Gilani (1077-1166) moved from his native Gilan on the Caspian to Baghdad when he was eighteen. In Baghdad he became an adept in philosophy and Islamic law according to the literalist Hanbali school. In 1127 he began to preach and his Sufi school of thought ミ the Qadiriyah order ミ steadily expanded. His writings were orthodox in content featuring some mystical interpretations of the Qur’an and his teachings attacked materialism and worldliness and stressed charity and humanitarianism. Many Christians and Jews are reported to have embraced Islam under the influence of his teachings. The tomb of ‘Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani is in Baghdad.

Sunni religious leaders call on population to demonstrate against US occupation.

In Friday sermons Sunni religious leaders, like their Shi‘i counterpart Muqtada as-Sadr, called on Iraqis to take to the streets to demonstrate against the US occupation on Saturday, the second anniversary of the American occupation of the Iraqi capital.

Shaykh al-Harith ad-Darri told worshippers on Friday that the Iraqi people must go out on Saturday to “cry out with one voice” in every city of the country from al-Basrah in the south to Dahuk in the north to say, “enough playing around, enough false slogans, enough ethnic and religious sectarianism!”

Shi‘i followers of Muqtada as-Sadr stage massive demonstration in solidarity with Sunni Iraqis against the occupation.

On the occasion of the second anniversary of the US occupation of Baghdad, Shi‘i followers of Muqtada as-Sadr took to the streets in a massive demonstration in Baghdad ミ estimated at more than 170,000 demonstrators, denouncing the US occupation and Zionism.

Correspondents of Mafkarat al-Islam in the city covered the demonstrations that poured out of Kahramaniyah Square in central Baghdad to extend to the area of the eastern gat and then the al-Jumhuriyah Bridge and al-Firdaws Square on which the Americans staged the publicity stunt of the destruction of a monument to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein in 2003.

A Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent met with ‘Ali al-Musawi, representative of Muqtada as-Sadr in Baghdad who said: “Today we are coming out to say to the occupation ‘you have no place among us,’ and ‘Iraqis are better able to govern that you are,’ and to demand that men and women held as prisoners must be released immediately.” Al-Musawi added, “we came on this occasion to tell them the most important thing: that honorable Shi‘ah say ‘No’ to the occupation and demand that it leave and that they stand with their brothers the Sunnah for the end of the occupation and with the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ in insisting that the occupation withdraw from all Iraqi territory.”

US, Iraqi stooges blamed for murder of local leader of Muqtada as-Sadr movement in Baghdad to take part in demonstrations against the occupation.

Unknown gunmen murdered Shaykh Fadil ash-Shawk, Director of the office of Muqtada as-Sadr in Karbala’ when he was in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah in connection with the massive demonstration held by the as-Sadr movement to protest the US occupation of Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ad-Durah reported witnesses as saying thar gunmen “equipped with very modern American-made weapons” opened fire on the car of Shaykh Fadil ash-Shawk. Shaykh Fadil was martyred instantly.

A source in the as-Sadr Office told Mafkarat al-Islam that “the fingers of blame point to the US occupation and the ‘Iraqi government’.”

Shaykh Fadil’s followers joined other supporters of Muqtada as-Sadr where they burned and trampled the American flag with their feet. They burned effigies of George W. Bush and Tony Blair on the road linking ad-Durah to Firdaws Square where the demonstrators were concentrated.

US deploys in force throughout Iraqi cities in fear of Sunni uprisings.

Baghdad and the predominantly Sunni provinces of Iraq endured an unusually large deployment of thousands of US troops and hundreds of armored vehicles at intersections inside and around cities as American troops cut off communications, the internet, as well as portable and mobile telephones on Saturday, the second anniversary of their occupation of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that from dawn until the time he filed his report (posted at 10:10am Mecca time Saturday morning) US helicopters prowled the skies over Baghdad. They kept to high altitudes, however, out of fear of Resistance rocket attacks.

More than 40,000 US troops deployed around Sunni mosques in Baghdad, al-Anbar Province, Salah ad-Din Province, and in the Mosul and Kirkuk areas.

A correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam met with Lieutenant John Hessley, a Marine commander in Baghdad who said that the large show of American technological force was because they feared that Iraqis, or at least Sunni Iraqis would not let the anniversary of their invasion pass without some sort of rebellion that might inflict losses on the invader troops. The American officer said that at that moment the Shi‘i followers of Muqtada as-Sadr were holding a demonstration without a permit, but that they feared that the Sunnis would mark the occasion in “a different way.”

Islamic Army In Iraq forms Support al-Aqsa Division.

The Islamic Army in Iraq, one of the better known Iraqi Resistance organizations, announced Friday that in solidarity with Arab and Muslim brothers and sisters in Palestine, it had formed a Support al-Aqsa Division in opposition to Jewish extremists who intend to demonstrate in the Holy Sanctuary on Sunday, 10 April 2005.

A statement published on a website on Friday called on Muslims to move. “The Support al-Aqsa Division has been formed, its banners raised, its horses saddled in anticipation of the call to rise to prayer and salvation on the square of our blessed al-Aqsa mosque.”

Agence France Presse (AFP) reported that a masked member of the Islamic Army in Iraq wearing military-style clothing and seated in front of a picture of the al-Aqsa Mosque with a machine gun near by read out the statement in a video on the website. The picture of the al-Aqsa Mosque incorporated the logo of the Islamic Army in Iraq.

The speaker in the video read a statement that said, “Oh mujahideen in Iraq and in every place! Al-Aqsa is calling you! Men of the Islamic Army in Iraq, al-Aqsa is calling you!” The man urged Muslim religious leaders to take part in mobilization of forces against the threat posed by Jewish groups bent on destroying the mosque in order to clear the ground for the establishment of their ‘temple’ in occupied Jerusalem.

A Jewish supremacist group known as Revava called for large demonstrations by Jews on Sunday at the mosque to protest the Zionist regime’s plan to pull some forces out of the Gaza area, leaving it under a dependent administration during the coming summer months.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians demonstrated after Friday prayers on 8 April 2005, in streets and refugee camps in Gaza pledging a “third Intifada” and a return to the launching of Qassam missiles on Zionist colonists if there is a Jewish attack on the al-Aqsa Mosque.

The US military announced that it had arrested a cameraman for the American CBS TV network on charges that he was suspected of cooperating with the Iraqi Resistance. US forces opened fire on an Iraqi cameraman working for CBS in Mosul wounding him earlier in the week. US military sources now say that the cameraman was standing with Resistance fighters during the battle.

In an earlier report, the Americans had claimed that they had shot the cameraman by mistake, thinking that his video camera was a weapon. The latest American version, however, is that the cameraman has been arrested as a suspected Resistance supporter who “constitutes a real danger for the ‘coalition’ forces” as the Americans call their invader troops. The American military statement said that the cameraman was “now under arrest and he will be treated like any other suspect.”

CBS reporter Jim Stewart reported that the US occupation forces told him about their suspicions regarding his cameraman and when the American military inspected his camera, they found film of four Iraqi Resistance bomb attacks on US invader troops. The Americans claim that the cameraman had foreknowledge of the attacks.

CBS quoted its Baghdad correspondent Lee Cowan as saying: “From every indication we had, the work he had done for us the past three months has been exceptional.” He noted the all the networks employ locals in Iraq that help get footage that US photographers couldn’t get.

Resistance shoots down Black Hawk Saturday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Mecca time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time earlier, Iraqi Resistance forces shot down a US Black Hawk helicopter over the city of al-Latifiyah. Resistance fighters fired a Strela rocket at the helicopter, according to an Iraqi Resistance source. The Resistance attacked the aircraft after it flew in at low altitude over the city. The rocket hit the helicopter, setting it ablaze in the air and killing the two-man crew.

Witnesses confirmed seeing the helicopter on fire as it fell, crashing into the earth. They added that the Black Hawk fell in one of the date palm groves in the village of ad-Dulaymiyah west of al-Latifiyah.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb exploded at about 4:30pm local time Saturday, destroying a Polish military vehicle and killing three Polish soldiers.

A source in the puppet police confirmed that the bomb killed three Polish troops and added that an Iraqi collaborator translator was also killed and their armored vehicle destroyed.

Resistance bombards US base in Mosul.

Iraqi Resistance forces pounded the US al-Ghazlani base in Mosul, the main US facility in the city, with 13 rockets at 10am local time Saturday morning. Mafkarat al-Islam reported a sergeant in a US commando force of the US army in the city as saying that 13 surface-to-surface rockets blasted the US base, inflicting great material damage.

Dawud Kazim, a member of the joint US-Iraqi committee confirmed that 32 US troops were killed or injured in the attack. Afterwards, US helicopters flew over the base for nearly half an hour evacuating the dead and wounded.

The Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers, led by the Jordanian Islamist Abu Mus‘ab az-Zarqawi, announced that it had shot down an unmanned American spy plane in the skies over Mosul on Saturday.

In a communiqu distributed in a number of mosques in Mosul, a copy of which was obtained by Mafkarat al-Islam, the Resistance organization announced that their machine guns had struck the pilotless spy plane that was flying at very low altitude, photographing the movements of members of the Resistance in various areas under Resistance control. An-Najaf Province.
Al-Kufah.

Exclusive interview with Muqtada as-Sadr: “Everything under the occupation is illegal.”

Shi‘i religious leader Muqtada as-Sadr gave an exclusive interview to a correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam in the historic al-Kufah mosque Saturday morning.

Muqtada as-Sadr began his remarks by saying, “I would like to thank Mafakrat al-Islam for the truthful news reports that it broadcasts about the Sunni and Shi‘i mujahideen in Iraq, and on national topics, free of the sectarian spirit that entered Iraq with the occupation troops. I personally also thank Mafkarat al-Islam for its coverage of news of the al-Mahdi Army and its battle with the occupation. It is for this reason that I agreed to speak to your website.”

“To tell the truth, I don’t visit your site very much because I am so busy. But the brothers around me just keep heaping praise and appreciation on you, praise be to God and may God reward you well.”

Mafkarat al-Islam asked Muqtada as-Sadr what are the demands of the as-Sadr Movement currently, noting that some Shi‘i sources were claiming that the as-Sadr Movement had modified its demands regarding a timetable for the withdrawal of the occupation from Iraq and its demand for a national government in which all sections of the Iraqi people would take part.

Muqtada as-Sadr replied: “No way. There has been no change. Our positions are very clear. We demand that the occupation leave, first and foremost. Then we are for free and clean elections outside the control of the occupation, because all elections that are held under occupation are fake and illegal.”

Mafkarat al-Islam asked to what extent the as-Sadr Movement was prepared to cooperate with the present “government” in Iraq.

Muqtada as-Sadr replied: “we deal with it on the basis that it is a government that works for the benefit of certain interests, no more, no less.”

Mafkarat al-Islam asked about the relationship between the as-Sadr Movement and the Sunni Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars.

Muqtada as-Sadr responded: “The brothers in the Board, may God reward them well, are our brothers and their demands are our demands ミ the end of the occupation, the holding of elections without the occupation and its presence in Iraq. We are linked together by solid ties, and we have excellent relations with all the rest of the patriots in Iraq.”

Mafkarat al-Islam asked about rumors that Muqtada as-Sadr intended to visit al-Fallujah to express solidarity with its people.

Muqtada as-Sadr replied: “Yes, God willing, at the first opportunity we will visit there, because they are heroes and our brothers in religion and the homeland.”

Finally, Mafkarat al-Islam asked the Shi‘i leader whether he intended to take part in the new “government” or in framing the constitution.

Muqtada as-Sadr responded: “Everything under the occupation is false, incorrect, and illegal.”

At the end of the short interview, Muqtada as-Sadr expressed his thanks to Mafakrat al-Islam, asking God to help it progress and flourish as it provides honest coverage of burning events in Iraq.
