Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Qa’im.

Seven US troops killed when Resistance martyrdom fighter blows up car bomb at US checkpoint Tuesday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US checkpoint in al-Qa’im at 11am Tuesday morning local time. The al-Qa’im correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” as saying that a Resistance fighter driving a red pickup blasted into a US military checkpoint whose job was supposedly to prevent Resistance fighters from getting into Iraq from Syria.

The source reported that the martyrdom truck bomb blast killed seven American soldiers and wounded a number more, in addition to destroying three Humvees and many of the accoutrements of the American strongpoint, such as a portable electric power generator, search lights, and bomb detecting equipment.

The correspondent reported witnesses as saying that American troops rushed to the scene shortly after the attack and sealed off the area. They very quickly evacuated the bodies of their dead and launched a campaign of raids on the village of al-Karabilah, after receiving information that the Resistance fighter who carried out the attack drove into their checkpoint from al-Karabilah.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance rockets US strongpoint near al-Fallujah midday Tuesday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired a Grad rocket into a US command post near al-Fallujah at 12:30pm Tuesday, local time. Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack targeted a US position near Zawbi‘ which is between al-Fallujah and Abu Ghurayb. The attack sent black smoke rising over the area, indicating that some vehicle had been blasted and set ablaze. Further information on the American losses was unavailable.

As-Saqlawiyah.

Resistance liquidates traitor spy.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40pm Mecca time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters liquidated a spy working for the US occupation forces in as-Saqlawiyah. The Resistance men opened fire on the spy as he drove in his car killing him, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

‘Ar‘ar Border Area.

Seven US troops killed, five wounded in Resistance ambush near Saudi border.

In a dispatch posted at 5:25pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam’s correspondent in the ‘Ar‘ar border complex area on the Iraqi Saudi border reported that four masked Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US military unit patrolling the Iraqi-Saudi border at 5:30 local time. The Resistance fighters opened fire with shoulder-launched rockets and medium machine guns, catching the American patrol by surprise from above a hill near what was formerly known as al-Bawwabah (the Gate) in the complex. The attack destroyed one US Humvee and disabled a second. Seven American troops were killed and five more wounded in the ambush.

The correspondent reported Bedouin nomads who witnessed the attack as confirming the casualty figures. The reporter also noted that at the time he submitted his report, fire was still burning in one of the Humvees.

About one week ago American troops on the border were subjected to a similar attack, which they blamed on fraternal Arab volunteer Resistance fighters who were infiltrating into Iraq to do battle with the American invaders.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance bombards US al-Warrar base Tuesday evening.

Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi at 6:30pm Tuesday evening. The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local police sources a saying that more than 11 heavy mortar rounds blasted into the American base. Witnesses reported that no smoke or fire was observed over the base after the attack, as had been the case every other time the Resistance bombarded the American-occupied facility.
Members of the Iraqi Resistance Brigades of Islamic Rage in Iraq took credit for the bombardment in a communiqu, a copy of which Mafkarat al-Islam obtained.

Resistance forces bombard puppet governor’s offices in ar-Ramadi early Tuesday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired six 82mm mortar rounds into the building housing the puppet governor’s offices for al-Anbar Province at 7am local time Tuesday morning. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the six shells blasted into the governorate building where the puppet governor Fassal al-Ka‘‘ud has his offices.

A source in the puppet police said that the bombardment killed a number of puppet police and puppet army personnel, including one high-ranking officer. It also inflicted serious damage on the governorate building which is located in the middle of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad.

US sending 3,000 more troops to al-Anbar Province due to sharp rise in Resistance activity.

The US military ordered 3,000 additional American troops be deployed to al-Anbar Province in western Iraq in order to bolster the “security” of the American invader troops already there, according to a press statement issued by several US commanders in Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported General David Jan as saying, “the aim of sending 3,000 troops is to make the province more secure, particularly after the intensification of military operations there.” The general said, “a large part of the Iraqi puppet forces will be withdrawn from that province because they are not yet capable of taking on these hot provinces in which the Insurgents as he called the Iraqi Resistance fighers are concentrated.”

Asked how many US troops are in al-Anbar, the General said that at present a third of US forces in Iraq are in al-Ambar. He attributed that to the fact that it is Iraq’s largest province and to the intensity of military operations there.

Massive US column 20km long heads west into al-Anbar Province.

In a report posted at 5:40pm Mecca time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before massive US columns, in all 20km long, backed by fighter aircraft and helicopters, set out towards al-Anbar Province along Highway 1, the international highway through Abu Ghurayb.

The correspondents for Mafkarat al-Islam in Abu Ghurayb, in the adh-Dhahab al-Abyad area, and in al-Karmah east of al-Fallujah reported seeing troop transports, armored vehicles, Humvees and other types of vehicle never yet seen in al-Anbar in the column. Roads were closed for the American column to pass as many helicopters prowled the skies above trying to prevent Resistance ambushes along the way.

The troop movement followed an American order to deploy another 3,000 more US Marines in al-Anbar Province where official statistics put the number of American troops at 44,000 already, i.e., one-third of America’s total forces in Iraq.

As of the time of reporting, the correspondents noted that the Resistance had not mounted any attacks on the massive columns.

Rawah.

US rockets Rawah on Monday, arrests survivors.

US occupation troops arrested five Iraqis in the city of Rawah in western Iraq on Monday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US aircraft carried out a rocket attack on a car garage in Rawah and then afterwards, American ground troops arrested five individuals near the area hit by the American missiles.

Baghdad.

Six US troops killed on az-Za‘farniyah Road in Baghdad early Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 10am Tuesday morning Mecca time, Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that two Iraqi Resistance roadside bombs exploded by a column of US military vehicles on the az-Za‘faraniyah road next to a bakery oven at dawn on Tuesday. The blasts destroyed two Humvees and killed six American troops and wounded three more.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the Americans then encircled the area and closed the roads leading to the street where the attack took place. They evacuated their dead and wounded but left the two wrecked vehicles under a puppet police guard until they could bring in huge cranes that picked them up and loaded them on vehicles that could carry them away.

Sectarian Badr Brigade collaborator gunmen raid Iraqi Journalists Union offices searching for names of Sunni journalists.

A group of gunmen belonging to the Shi‘i chauvinist Badr Brigades, the armed wing of the so-called “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) raided the Union of Iraqi Journalists office in the al-Waziriyah area of northern Baghdad Monday evening. The gunmen ransacked the belongings of the Journalist Union and stole a number of documents that contained the names of Iraqi journalists working in Iraqi newspapers and of Iraqis working in foreign and Arab news agencies.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the Union’s administration as saying that they learned the identity of the gunmen after they introduced themselves and when they demanded to know the names only of Sunni journalists.

The Iraqi Journalists Union called on the puppet so-called “Iraqi government” to investigate the incident to learn the full background to the raid. It also demanded that Iraqi journalists be provided protection and security after this latest incident that revealed the deadly desire of some Shi‘i chauvinist circles to silence honest writers who are calling for the departure of the occupation forces from Iraq.

The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars in Iraq, the supreme Sunni Muslim religious authority in the country issued a statement on Tuesday in which it said that the Saudi newspaper ash-Sharq al-Awsat for Tuesday 26 April 2005 wrongly attributed statements to the Board official in charge of culture and information, Dr. Muthanna Harith Sulayman that he absolutely did not make.

The Statement, a copy of which Mafkarat al-Islam obtained, said that the inaccurate remarks appeared in the text of an interview that the journalist Ilhami al-Maliji supposedly had with the Board official in Cairo. The bogus statement that the paper incorrectly quoted the Board official as saying was, “We will call for a halt of the Resistance and take part in the government if American announces a timetable for its withdrawal.”

The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ statement says:

“The Culture and Information section of the Board would like to state the following:

“The official of the Culture and Information section gave no interview with the newspaper ash-Sharq al-Awsat in Cairo.

“The only interviews given were with the magazine al-Ahram al-‘Arabi and the newspapers al-Misri al-Yawm, az-Zaman, Afaq ‘Arabiyah, and with the magazine Akhir Sa‘ah. Anything attributed to the official of the Information Section in any other newspaper or magazine is incorrect.

“The statement attributed to the official in the Information Section of the Board contradicts the statements that he made, which the Egyptian media published, in particular the magazine al-Ahram al-‘Arabi.”

Diyala Province.

Ba ‘qubah.

Fierce Resistance mortar bombardment leaves a reported nine US troops dead.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired 16 mortar rounds into the northern pars of the US base west of the city of Ba‘qubah at 5am Tuesday morning local time. Captain Tami al-Majma‘i of the puppet emergency command in the province told Mafkarat al-Islam that nine US troops were killed in the attack and 22 more wounded. Several shells blasted into one of the barracks in which US troops were living on the base. The rest of the shells, he said, struck various parts of the US-occupied facility where American troops were staying.

For their part, residents of Ba‘qubah confirmed to the correspondent that the Americans called in helicopters to evacuate their dead. They reported hearing sirens wailing inside the base ミ something they only seldom hear as the Americans only set off the sirens in the base when an attack is particularly violent.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Four US troops reported dead in Mosul bombing Tuesday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded in the al-Ba‘aj area west of Mosul on Tuesday. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that two Resistance fighters planted the bomb Tuesday morning by the side of the road. The device exploded fifteen minutes after it was planted when a US column passed by on its way towards the center of the city.

The blast destroyed one vehicle, killing all four soldiers aboard it. The blast left a big crater an estimated three meters (nearly 10 feet) in diameter. For their part, the US military broadcast a report on their local radio station beamed at the province in which they said that the attack occurred but gave no details on casualties.

Tall ‘Afar.

Resistance attack leaves collaborationist 12 Peshmergah gunmen dead.

Twelve Kurdish chauvinist collaborationist Peshmergah gunmen were killed on Tuesday morning when Iraqi Resistance forces attacked their patrol north of the city of Tall ‘Afar on the border with largely Kurdish Dahuk province.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported witnesses as saying that the Resistance attacked the patrol of Kurdish gunmen as it was surveying an area in an attempt to prevent the infiltration of Resistance fighters into the northern provinces of occupied Iraq where they mount attacks on the south Korean and US aggressor troops based there.

The Resistance attacked the Kurdish gunmen with shoulder-launched RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades, destroying two GMC military vehicles and killing 12 of the Peshmergah gunmen, many of them burned to death inside the vehicles.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Balad.

Resistance car bombing kills five US troops in Balad midday Tuesday.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a US military column in the middle of the city of Balad, north of Baghdad at 12:30pm midday Tuesday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the city reported that the Resistance fighter drove his black Kia car into the US column as it was distributing announcements about new laws in the city pertaining to the hours of the curfew and rules on vehicle traffic when American columns are passing. The blast destroyed one Humvee and killed five US troops instantly.

Lieutenant Walid Jum‘ah of the puppet so-called “civil defense forces” said that the blast killed five Americans and destroyed their Humvee, but that the attack car did not explode as it was supposed to, because apparently some of the explosive charges had gone bad and did not work.

After the attack, Iraqi puppet forces surrounded the scene and called in one Black Hawk helicopter that evacuated the bodies to the US base in Tikrit. An American vehicle hauled away the wreckage of the Humvee to one of the American barracks in the city.
