2月10日付、「コペンハーゲン・ポスト」によると、モハメッドの風刺漫画を掲載したJyllands-Posten 紙の編集者（フレミング・ローズ）は、CNNとデンマークのTVインタビューを受けた後、一時休職を言い渡されていることが分かった。
また、彼が「ホロコースト漫画の掲載も計画中」との件について、Jyllands-Posten 紙は、「不必要は論争の種は撒くべきでない」として、彼の発言を否定するコメントを発表した。
（Jyllands-Posten 紙は、今回の騒動についても正式に謝罪している）。

デンマークは他の北欧諸国と少し違うが、それでも政治的スタンスとしては他の北欧４カ国同様、「中立」的立場をとってきている。一部には、オンブズマンが制度がいちばんうまく運営されているのはデンマークと言う意見もある。新聞の偏向記事をチェックするプレス・オンブズマンも有名だ。彼らが黙っていたとは思えない。
いずれにしても、北欧人は多角的に物事を見る傾向は強いので、西洋人やアメリカ人のように「徹底的に我を張る」ということは少ない。裏に何かがあったにせよ、落ち着くところに落ち着いたということだろう。

The culture editor of the newspaper that printed the Mohammed cartoons is sent on a leave of absence after disagreements with the editor-in-chief over cartoons poking fun at Judaism and Christianity
Flemming Rose, one of the two men responsible for newspaper Jyllands-Posten's decision to print the infamous Mohammed cartoons, has been sent on a leave of absence, reported Danish daily Politiken on Thursday.
'The editorial staff has told Flemming Rose that he ought to go on holiday. No one can imagine the incredible amount of pressure he has been under,' said Jyllands-Posten's editor-in-chief Carsten Juste.
The decision to give Rose a leave of absence comes a day after he made statements to CNN and Danish television station TV2 that the newspaper would print cartoons satirising Christianity and Judaism as a way to prove that it did not have an anti-Islamic bent.
After the comments were made, Jyllands-Posten posted a message in English and Danish that the paper had no plans to print such cartoons, as it would create unnecessary debate.
Rose later apologised for his statements, which Juste said were both a misunderstanding and a mistake.
