Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance bomb kills five US troops following their fruitless search of livestock pens.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb blew up by a US Humvee in the al-Jazirah area west of ar-Ramadi at about 10am Tuesday morning. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that a detachment of US troops was sent on a mission to search sheep and other livestock pens in the rural area after they had received a tip that Resistance fighters had hidden weapons in livestock pens in the area.

The Resistance bomb exploded by the US vehicle after the Americans finished their searches, having found nothing. The blast destroyed one armored Humvee and killed five US troops. The attack prompted the Americans to return to the area and search through it a second time. On this occasion they arrested a number of youths who live in the village. Meanwhile a Black Hawk helicopter evacuated the bodies of their five dead.

The Partisans of the Sunnah Prophet’s Practice Resistance organization announced its responsibility for the bombing in a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomb in al-Fallujah Tuesday morning kills six US troops.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of several US military vehicles near the as-Sumud Playing Field in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood of eastern al-Fallujah at 9am Tuesday morning local time.

An official source in the Iraqi puppet police told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast killed six US troops. The blast dismembered the body of one of the Americans, when the bomb exploded directly under his feet as he sat in a vehicle in the US column. The US forces acknowledged that the attack took place but claimed only that there were American “wounded” in the attack, making no mention of those killed.

Resistance bomb in trash barrel kills or wounds 17 Iraqi puppet troops Tuesday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces booby-trapped a trash barrel in the western part of al-Fallujah and detonated it when a foot patrol of the puppet so-called “Iraqi national guard” was passing by.

In a report posted at 10:30am Mecca time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the blast killed or wounded 17 puppet guards according to a captain in the Iraqi puppet army who asked not to be identified.

The captain reported that the bodies of those killed in the bombing were taken to an Iraqi military hospital in Baghdad from where they would be distributed to their families after their deaths on duty are officially confirmed.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb leaves three US troops dead in ad-Durah Tuesday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol of six Humvees backed up by Iraqi puppet forces as they were carrying out searches for Resistance fighters in the al-Mikanik area of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at 3pm local time Tuesday afternoon.

The bomb went off next to the patrol as it drove through a back street in the neighborhood in the course of its searches. Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast set one of the American vehicles ablaze, killing three US soldiers and wounding a fourth.

Resistance attack leaves seven US troops dead in ad-Durah Tuesday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a giant US Bradley armored vehicle in the Abu Dashir neighborhood of the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah on Tuesday morning, disabling the vehicle but inflicting no casualties among the American crew.

At that point, however, Iraqi Resistance fighters, armed with shoulder-fired rockets and medium machine guns, attacked the crippled vehicle and the US troops who were trying to flee. All seven Americans were killed and the Bradley was destroyed.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported in a dispatch posted at 11:58am Tuesday morning Mecca time, that all the Resistance fighters were able to leave the scene before the arrival of US reinforcements who rushed to the scene.

Pentagon delegation views sites for permanent American bases in Iraq.

The Egyptian newspaper al-Ahram reported in its Tuesday issue that informed sources had said that a high-ranking American delegation from the Pentagon visited Baghdad on Tuesday, 31 May 2005 to view proposals for strategic bases that it plans to “buy” from the puppet “Iraqi government.”

The US currently has one strategic base in the country, the al-Asad base near Tikrit, the paper reported, and sites for bases in the areas of al-Kut, al-Basrah, Karbala’, and Sinjar (50km northwest of Mosul) were looked at. Those locations, the sources said, are to be the sites for permanent American strategic bases in Iraq and are unlikely to change.

Families of collaborators killed by Resistance protest US, puppet regime policy of hiding true casualty figures.

Dozens of Iraqis rallied to protest the American practice of hiding casualty figures from the media and the public on Tuesday. Denouncing the Iraqi puppet “government” for “lying,” relatives of Iraqi collaborators killed while serving in the puppet army and puppet security forces assembled at the First Military Academy in southeast Baghdad which the current regime uses to train officers of the line for the American-controlled forces.

The demonstrators told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the puppet authorities return the corpses of their sons and brothers in clandestine circumstances under a cloak of total secrecy, for fear that the real number of puppet troops and police killed in the war against the Resistance will be published.

Abu Anwar told the correspondent: “My son was one of a group of 14 who were all killed when a bomb exploded at the checkpoint they were manning. I went to the Hospital for Forensic Medicine to pick up his body so I could bury it in the Shi‘i holy city of an-Najaf. An officer with the rank of colonel there told me that my son was killed defending the homeland against the terrorists ミ as he called them ミ and said that he would continue to receive his salary as he did when he was alive, because he is a martyr. But until now that hasn’t happened.”

A woman at the rally told Mafkarat al-Islam that her son was killed in a Resistance ambush in al-Fallujah but his name was not listed among the dead. She said that the names of members of the puppet army, police, and so-called “national guard” who die are not published unless they are officers. “The enlisted men are killed in silence and there’s no announcement.”

The demonstraters gathered at the military academy chanted slogans denouncing the puppet regime for hiding the true number of men killed in the puppet army, police and “national guard” in the Resistance attacks that strike them every day.

Mafkarat al-Islam noted that the puppet so-called “Iraqi interior ministry” has adopted the policy followed by the US Defense Department of not publishing the true casualty figures. The intention behind the policy is to try to demoralize the Resistance by convincing them that they are not inflicting significant casualties on the Americans and their stooges. The policy is also intended to preserve the morale of the puppet forces by concealing from them the real casualty ratio in their ranks.

Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ denounces puppet regime’s call on United Nations to legitimized prolonged stay of US occupation.

The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ Scholars, the highest Sunni religious authority in occupied Iraq, issued a statement Tuesday denouncing a call by the US-installed puppet regime for the United Nations Security Council to legitimize and extend the stay of US occupation forces in Iraq. The Board said that the puppet “government’s” call was aimed at trying to portray the American occupation by force as an “occupation by invitation.”

The Statement issued by the Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ said that the puppet “government” call was not unexpected, even though the parties that won the sham election held under US auspices in January campaigned on promises to get the Americans to leave.

The Board of Muslim ‘Ulama’ said in its Tuesday statement, “the Board had already warned that the latest political operation the sham elections were aimed at turning the American presence from an occupation by force to an occupation by invitation, and this is what in fact, took place.”

The statement went on to say, “the root of the Iraqi problem is the presence of the occupation, and neither this government nor any other governments can re-establish security or attain stability so long as the occupation remains. To call on the occupation to stay is like trying to put out a fire by throwing more fuel on it.”

The Board statement called on the regime to grasp the reality of the situation in the country and to base itself on the Iraqi people rather than pinning its hopes on the occupation troops, against whom the hearts of Iraqis are filled with hatred and fury.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Ad-Dulu‘iyah.

Resistance fighters ambush US fuel convoy.

Iraqi Resistance forces ambushed a convoy of US tank trucks hauling fuel to American occupation troops in Iraq in ad-Dulu‘iyah, north of Baghdad on Tuesday.

Residents of the al-Mu‘tasim neighborhood in the west of ad-Dulu‘iyah told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters attacked the US convoy on the highway to Baghdad, setting two of the tankers ablaze and killing three US troops and wounding a fourth.

Babil Province.

Al-Latifiyah.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol in al-Latifiyah early Tuesday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a US patrol on a back road in the al-Muhandisin neighborhood in the middle of al-Latifiyah, 30km south of Baghdad at 2pm local time Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses told the local Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the bomb blew up as a patrol of four US Humvees was passing. The blast destroyed one Humvee, killing two US troops and wounding three more.

After the explosion, US forces encircled the al-Muhandisin neighborhood where the attack occurred and arrested several young men living in the area, on charges of having been involved in operations against US occupation forces in al-Latifiyah.

Ninwa Province.

Tall ‘Afar.

Resistance shoots down two American helicopters in Tall ‘Afar area Tuesday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces shot down two US helicopters in Tall ‘Afar, west of Mosul in northern Iraq on Tuesday morning. Witnesses in Tall ‘Afar told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters brought down the first US helicopter in flames in the as-Saray area behind the hills with machinegun fire. They said that the aircraft crashed immediately after being hit and catching fire at about 9am Tuesday morning local time.

A second US helicopter was shot down near the Tall ‘Afar airport at about 9:30am local time. The Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers issued a communiqu announcing its responsibility for downing the two helicopters and saying that the crews of both aircraft ミ a total of four men ミ were killed in the attacks.

Mosul.

Resistance car bomber blasts US column near American base in Mosul Tuesday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed pickup into a US patrol in the ad-Dandan area on the road to the American al-Ghazlani base in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 9am local time Tuesday morning.

An officer in the Iraqi puppet military told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast destroyed one US armored vehicle and damaged a second, killing nine US troops. Six American soldiers were killed in the first armored vehicle, which was destroyed, and three more in the vehicle that was damaged. Seven other American troops were wounded in the attack.

The martyrdom fighter drove the pickup into the American patrol just 4km from the American al-Ghazlani base.

The Iraqi Resistance organization Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqu, a copy of which was received by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

Sunni Religious figure abducted, murdered, mutilated by Shi‘i chauvinist puppet police.

The mutilated body of a Sunni activist in the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah, abducted from his home in the city’s al-Barradi‘iyah district by Shi‘i chauvinist Badr Brigades on Sunday, was found on Monday under the Muhammad al-Qasim Bridge in the ash-Shu‘aybah district in the western part of the city.

A force of puppet police belonging to the Shi‘i chauvinist Badr Brigades along with some men in civilian clothers arrived in 20 cars on Sunday and abducted ‘Abd as-Salam ‘Abd al-Karim al-Kardisi, 50, from his home witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam.

The next day the body of al-Kardisi was found hanging from the Muhammad al-Qasim Bridge. It was the latest in a series of murders and abductions by the Shi‘i chauvinist supporters of the new puppet “prime minister” Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari.

Al-Kardisi, a student of Islamic law, deputized for the imam of a local mosque when he was away. A relative told Mafkarat al-Islam that al-Kardisi, who had only one leg, would hobble on a stick to the mosque to pray the five regular daily prayers despite its being a long distance from his home.

The funeral for al-Kardisi was originally set for Tuesday afternoon, but the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam learned that his body was still being held in the al-Basrah Forensic Medical Center and the release of the body was postponed until Wednesday, with local reports blaming the Badr Brigades for the delay.

The Sunni population now plans to hold al-Kardisi’s funeral on Wednesday.
