Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol late Monday afternoon.

In a bulletin posted at 7:25pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported from al-Fallujah that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded a short while before next to a US patrol in the as-Sadd area to the south of the city (50km west of Baghdad).

The correspondent reported residents of the Jubayl area in the south of al-Fallujah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of as-Sadd Road blew up as the patrol of four US Humvees passed by, destroying one of the vehicles and killing or wounding all aboard.

American forces immediately surrounded the scene of the attack preventing anyone from approaching and making it impossible for the correspondent to ascertain the precise nature and extent of US casualties.

US soldier reported killed in early afternoon bombing.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in the middle of al-Fallujah at 2pm local time Monday afternoon.

Residents of the al-Jumhuriyah neighborhood of al-Fallujah told Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the main road leading to the center of the city, exploded as a joint patrol was passing.

The blast set one US Humvee and one pickup belonging to the puppet forces on fire, killing one American soldier and wounding another. Three Iraqi puppet troops were killed and two more of them wounded in the explosion.

Nighttime clashes rage in al-Fallujah Sunday-Monday night.

Intermittent clashes broke out between Iraqi Resistance forces and US occupation troops in the al-‘Askari neighborhood in the east of al-Fallujah on Sunday night.

Residents of al-‘Askari told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including BKC machine guns attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet force camp in al-‘Askari and also ambushed a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in the neighborhood.

US forces encircled the whole neighborhood and launched raids and searches on Monday morning looking for Resistance fighters. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam had no information regarding US losses during the fighting because of the nighttime curfew that has been in force every night for months.

Ar-Ramadi.

Three US troops reported killed in midday bombing north of ar-Ramadi.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Jazirah area north of ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad at 1pm local time Monday.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the bomb was planted in the middle of an unpaved farm road at the northern entrance to the city. It blew up as a US patrol was passing, destroying a Humvee and killing three US troops and wounding three more.

Resistance bombards US base before dawn Monday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired six Grad rockets into the US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi at 4am local time Monday morning.

Eyewitnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi that five or six Grad rockets blasted into the US base, sending thick clouds of smoke billowing into the sky over the eastern part of the American-occupied facility.

Although no information on casualties was available, particularly since the curfew was still in force at the time of the attack, residents of the area around the base told Mafkarat al-Islam that they saw US helicopters flying in and around the facility until 6am.

Al-Baghdadi.

Resistance bomb leaves US soldier dead in al-Baghdadi Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded by a patrol of several US military vehicles in al-Baghdadi in western Iraq at 9am local time Monday morning. The blast disabled one Humvee, killing an American soldier and wounding three others.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in al-Baghdadi that US forces then encircled the area and evacuated the wounded in their armored vehicles.

A US Marine confirmed to the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that the bomb had killed one American soldier.

Al-Qa’im.

Resistance bomb blasts US troops near al-Karabilah village early Monday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an American armored column on the International Highway near al-Karabilah village, east of the city of al-Qa’im on the Syrian border in western Iraq at 7am local time Monday morning.

Residents of al-Karabilah told Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the highway exploded when a column of six US armored vehicles and four Humvees passed by on their way into the village. The blast destroyed one armored vehicle, killing four US troops and wounding two more.

Baghdad.

128,000 Iraqis killed by US occupation since 2003, says Iraqi humanitarian group.

An Iraqi humanitarian organization that follows the human rights situation in the country announced on Monday morning that the number of Iraqis killed since the US occupation of Iraq has now topped 128,000.

Dr. Hatim al-‘Alwani, Chairman of the ‘Iraqiyun humanitarian organization in Baghdad told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that everyone who has been killed since the US invasion must be seen as victims of that invasion.

Al-‘Alawani said that 55 percent of those killed have been women and children aged 12 and under.

Asked how these data were obtained, Dr al-‘Alwani said that relatives and families of victims supplied information, as did Iraqi hospitals in all the country’s provinces.

It should be noted that the figure of 128,000 quoted by “al-‘Iraqiyun” only includes those whose relatives have been informed of their deaths. Those who were abducted or assassinated and not heard from ﾐ and there are many such cases ﾐ were not included in the count.

The correspondent noted that the figure of 128,000 agrees with what Mafkarat al-Islam’s correspondents have been witnessing and reporting from the various cities in which they work, in particular as a result of the very bloody US assaults on al-Fallujah and al-Qa’im.

Resistance mounts two-pronged attack on US forces in Abu Ghurayb Monday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 5:05pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a two-pronged attack on a joint US-Iraqi puppet column in the Khan Darri area to the west of Abu Ghurayb, 30km west of Baghdad.

Residents of Khan Darri told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in Abu Ghurayb that the first prong of the Iraqi Resistance attack consisted of two Resistance martyrdom fighters who drove explosives-packed cars into a joint US-Iraqi puppet column on an old farm road that leads to the az-Zaydan area southeast of al-Fallujah. It is in the az-Zaydan area that US forces and their Iraqi stooges are conducting what they call “operation scimitar” against the local population.

Witnesses said that after the US column came to a halt following the martyrdom car bombings and began to evacuate their dead, Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and BKC machine guns attacked the US column destroying one American armored vehicle and one pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces.

Eleven US troops were killed and eight others were wounded in the attack. Five Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed and two more of them wounded.

Fierce firefight breaks out Monday afternoon in Abu Ghurayb.

In a dispatch posted at 4:55pm Mecca time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting erupted between Iraqi Resistance forces and US troops backed up by their Iraqi stooges in the Khan Darri area to the west of Abu Ghurayb, 30km west of Baghdad on Monday afternoon.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the firefight broke out at 3pm local time Monday afternoon when Iraqi Resistance fighters, armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and 60mm mortars, ambushed a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol as it was on its way into the village.

Witnesses said that the clash lasted about 15 minutes and left two US armored vehicles and one pickup belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces destroyed. Five US troops were killed and six more Americans were wounded. Four Iraqi puppet troops were killed and eight more of them injured in the engagement.

Resistance attacks US truck convoy in ar-Ridwaniyah Monday morning.

Iraq Resistance fighters attacked a convoy of US military trucks hauling provisions and equipment to US occupation forces on the agricultural road leading to Saddam International Airport where the Americans have set up a huge airbase.

Owners of groves in ar-Ridwaniyah who witnessed the attack told Mafkarat al-Islam that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons, including pipe rockets, attacked the convoy of 12 military trucks at 10am local time Monday morning. Three of the trucks were set ablaze, killing four US troops and wounding three more.

After the attack US ground troops backed by helicopter gun ships encircled the area and hauled away the burned-out wreckage of the trucks and the bodies and wounded from the area.

Nine Iraqis in puppet police custody die of suffocation after being locked in police van for 14 hours.

Nine Iraqis being held by the Iraqi puppet police suffocated to death after spending more than 14 hours jammed in a puppet police vehicle. A source in the Iraqi puppet police told the Kuwaiti News Agency on Monday that the nine persons were arrested by the Iraqi puppet police on suspicion of involvement in the Resistance. Three other men locked up with them survived the ordeal and were taken to hospital for treatment.

The Iraqi puppet police arrested the 12 men in a local hospital where they were found with one of their friends who had been wounded in a clash between the puppet police and the Resistance in al-‘Amiriyah, west of Baghdad. All the men were crowded into a puppet police truck on Sunday where they remained until 1pm Monday. Nine of the men are believed to have succumbed to heat and lack of oxygen.

Babil Province.

Al-Hillah.

Four Polish occupation troops killed in Resistance ambush near al-Hillah Monday morning.

Iraqi Resistance fighters in al-Hillah attacked a Polish patrol on the main road linking the southern city of al-Hillah with Baghdad at about 8am local time Monday morning.

Residents of al-Imam village north of al-Hillah who witnessed the engagement told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance fighters, who were armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and BKC machine guns, destroyed two Polish armored vehicles, killing four Polish troops and wounding three more of them.

The witnesses said that one of the Resistance fighters was martyred in the battle and another was seriously wounded.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Balad.

Resistance bombards US base in Balad at 1pm Monday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired six medium-range Grad rockets into the US base in the Balad area, 70km north of Baghdad at 1pm local time Monday.

Witnesses told the Balad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that the US base was hit by six rockets, setting off violent explosions inside the US base.

Diyala Province.

Al-Khalis.

Resistance assault on puppet checkpoint leaves nine puppet troops dead Monday morning.

Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with light weapons attacked an Iraqi puppet army check point at the entrance to the city of al-Khalis, northeast of Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 8:55am Mecca time Monday morning, the Saudi News Agency (WAS) reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the attack on the puppet checkpoint left nine puppet soldiers dead. The source said that the attack occurred on al-Mustafa Square at the entrance to the city of al-Khalis, 20km north of Ba‘qubah.

The source said that when a patrol was sent out to check on what had happened at the check point, an Iraqi Resistance car bomb that had been parked by the side of the road exploded by the patrol just 2km from where the checkpoint had been. The source said that the car bomb wounded three members of the puppet patrol and claimed that three civilians were also hurt.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Two US soldiers reported killed when land mine destroys tank Monday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance land mine exploded by a US tank column in the Sumar area in the middle of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 10am Monday morning local time.

Witnesses told the Mosul correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a land mine that was planted in the middle of an old, unpaved road leading to Shamkhunah village west of Mosul exploded when a column of seven US tanks passed over it.

The blast destroyed one American tank, killing two US soldiers and wounding four more.

Al-Basrah Province.

Al-Basrah.

Resistance ambush kills four Zionist security men in al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:45am Mecca time Monday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with machine guns and RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades attacked a column of three Chevrolet cars, one of which was carrying four foreigners in the al-Hayyaniyah area of the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah.

The Resistance attack destroyed two of the cars while the third managed to flee the scene. A source in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that the four foreigners who were killed in the one car were profiteers working on contract with the US and British occupation forces.

The Resistance organization First Army of Muhammad issued a communiqu in which it took responsibility for the attack and said that the men, who were the target of the operation, were Zionist employees of a Zionist company that supplied personal guards in occupied Iraq. The Resistance communiqu said that it had obtained papers from the dead men, including identity cards issued by the Zionist Zabata company whose speciality is “security and intelligence.”

Shi‘ah demonstrate in al-Basrah on Sunday against Iraqi puppet regime.

Supporters of Shi‘i religious leader Mahmud al-Hasani as-Sarkhi took to the streets of th southern city of al-Basrah on Sunday to protest the US-installed puppet “government” of Iraq. Protesters denounced the puppet so-called “interior ministry” for calling their religious authority Mahmud al-Hasani a “terrorist.”

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the demonstration set out from the offices of al-Hasani in Baghdad and headed towards the Provincial puppet “government” offices. The procession with Iraqi national flags at the front, ranks of militiamen in the middle and women at the end carrying pictures of al-Hasani wound its way towards the Provincial offices.

The correspondent noted that puppet so-called “Iraqi national guards” provided an escort for the demonstrators ﾐ a fact that shows that at least part of the local “national guard” force consists of militiamen loyal to al-Hasani or Muqtada as-Sadr, since it is unthinkable that puppet “Iraqi government” troops would protect a protest against their own “government.”

Demonstrators ﾐ and slogans that appeared on walls ﾐ denounced the puppet “interior minister,” who represents the so-called Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI), as an “Israeli.” The pro-American SCIRI is led by ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim and its Badr Brigade militia took part in the 2003 invasion of Iraq together with US troops. Since then the Badr Brigade has made up much of the puppet police force in Iraq, particularly in the predominantly Shi‘i southern provinces.

The correspondent reported that many observers regard the Sunday demonstration as an indication of how deep are the divisions now splitting the Shi‘i religious figures from one another. The charge of “Israeli” in effect meaning that one Shi‘i group is now accusing another ﾐ the pro-American faction in power ﾐ of being infidels (whom it is legal to fight should the occasion demand).
