Al-Anbar Province.

Ar-Rutbah.

In latest crime: American occupation troops kill five Iraqi civilians whose car broke down on the way to Jordan.

US occupation forces killed five Iraqi civilians on their way along the International Highway to Jordan, Mafkarat al-Islam reported Saturday.

Travelers who were on the same road at the time of the latest American atrocity told Mafkarat al-Islam that two Iraqi men, two Iraqi women, and a little girl aged 7, were traveling in a car towards the Jordanian border when the Chevrolet in which they were riding developed engine trouble. They pulled over to try to deal with the problem.

The location where the travelers stopped, however, happened to be about 300 meters from a US military camp. The Americans spotted the car and opened an intense barrage on the vehicle and its passengers, killing all of them instantly.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Four US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing near al-Khalidiyah Saturday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column in the as-Siddiqiyah area, east of al-Khlidiyah in Western Iraq at 11am local time Saturday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of as-Siddiqiyah village as saying that the bomb went of by the side of the main road leading to the nearby city of ar-Ramadi to the west when a column of eight American armored vehicles and two Humvees was passing by. The blast completely destroyed one American armored vehicle, killing four US troops and wounding two more.

Ath-Tharthar.

Eight US troops reported killed in Resistance ambush northeast of al-Hadithah Saturday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces attacked a US column in the area of a branch of the Tigris River to the south of ath-Tharthar (northeast of al-Hadithah) at 11am local time Saturday morning.

Owners of groves along the branch of the Tigris told the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that about 14 Iraqi Resistance fighters, armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets, attacked the patrol of four US armored vehicles and two Humvees on the main farm road to the village.

In a firefight that lasted about 10 minutes the Resistance fighters disabled one US armored vehicle and totally destroyed a Humvee. Eight Americans were killed and another four were wounded in the ambush. The witnesses reported that the Resistance fighters were able to withdraw from the scene of the fighting having suffered no losses.

Al-Baghdadi.

Iraqi Resistance bombards US ‘Ayn al-Asad base midday Saturday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired 12 mortar rounds into the US ‘Ayn al-Asad base in the al-Baghdadi area in western Iraq at about 1pm local time Saturday.

Residents of al-Baghdadi told Mafkarat al-Islam that they heard 12 explosions rock the American-occupied facility as a result of the Resistance mortar barrage. Plumes of smoke could be seen rising from inside the base.

Ar-Ramadi.

Four US troops reported killed in Friday evening attack.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol near the vegetable oil plant in northern ar-Ramadi at 8pm local time Friday evening.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb exploded by a patrol of several American vehicles, destroying one Humvee and killing four American soldiers and wounding two more.

Captain Muhsin ‘Abd as-Sadah of the Iraqi puppet army told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that after the bomb killed the four US soldiers and wounded two more they were transported to the US al-Warrar base by helicopter.

On Saturday morning, the Army of the Ansar as-Sunnah Partisans of the Prophet’s Practice announced in a communiqu that their organization was responsible for the attack.

Baghdad.

Resistance liquidates commander of puppet so-called “Iraqi rapid deployment force.”

In a dispatch posted at 10:20am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the motorcade of Major General Sha‘lan ‘Abbud Mubarak, the commander of the puppet so-called “Iraqi rapid-deployment force,” killing him.

Sources in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance fighters ambushed the puppet general’s motorcade with hand grenades and medium and light machine guns as it was on its way to his place of work in the “ministry.”

Witnesses said that about five Resistance fighters mounted the attack after they assured themselves that the car in the middle of the motorcade was the one carrying the general. They concentrated their fire on the vehicle, killing him and a number of his companions.

The al-Qa‘qa‘ Jihadi Squadron announced its responsibility for the attack in a communiqu, a copy of which was obtained by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam.

Twenty puppet “shock troops” killed in martyrdom Resistance attack on puppet headquarters in al-Yarmuk, Saturday morning.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter dressed as a member of the puppet so-called “shock troops” of the puppet so-called “interior ministry” entered the headquarters of the puppet “shock troops” on an-Nusur Square in the al-Yarmuk area of Baghdad during morning roll call on Saturday and blew himself up, killing 20 puppet troops and wounding another 30, according to a source in the puppet “inteterior ministry.”

Medical sources in al-Yarmuk Hospital told Quds Press that a number of the wounded were in serious condition, meaning that the number of those killed in the attack was likely to rise. The medical sources said that the majority of those killed and wounded were members of the puppet so-called “shock troops.”

US and Iraqi puppet forces encircled the puppet force headquarters after the blast as American helicopters prowled the skies overhead.

Saturday morning’s attack was the second to target the puppet “shock troops” in this manner. A similar attack by a martyrdom Resistance bomber on an earlier occasion left eight puppet troops dead.

Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb blasts US tank column on Airport Road Saturday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US tank column in the ash-Shurtah al-Khamisah neighborhood of southwestern Baghdad at 5pm local time Saturday afternoon.

Residents of the al-Bu ‘Amir village in the ash-Shurtah al-Khamisah area told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb was planted by the side of the main road in the neighborhood. It exploded as a column of eight US tanks passed by on its way to Saddam International Airport, a facility that the US occupation forces have turned into one of their major bases.

The explosion disabled one tank, killing two US troops and wounding two more American soldiers.

Four foreign mercenaries killed in Resistance bombing on Airport road Saturday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a column of four armored four-wheel drive vehicles in the al-Jihad neighborhood of western Baghdad at 6:30pm local time Saturday afternoon.

Residents of the al-Jihad neighborhood who witnessed the bombing told Mafkarat al-Islam that the explosive device was planted by the side of the highway leading to Saddam International Airport ﾐ known as the Airport Road ﾐ and that it blew up when a column of four-wheel drive vehicles of the type used by foreign profiteers and mercenaries working with the occupation forces.

The witnesses reported that the blast set one of the vehicles on fire, killing four foreigners and wounding two more.

Resistance bomb in Abu Ghurayb destroys US Humvee Saturday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance roadside bomb exploded by a patrol of six US Humvees in Abu Ghurayb at 4pm Saturday afternoon, local time.

Residents of the Khan Darri area of Abu Ghurayb told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb was planted by the side of the highway leading to al-Fallujah to the west. The blast completely destroyed one of the US vehicles, killing its four-man crew.

Babil Province.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

Resistance bomb blasts Iraqi puppet police patrol in al-Mahmudiyah Saturday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet police patrol in al-Mahmudiyah, south of Baghdad on Saturday. A local observer in al-Mahmudiyah told Quds Press that an explosives-laden ramshackle horse cart was stopped near the ar-Rafidayn Bank in al-Mahmudiyah when a puppet police patrol passed by.

The blast killed or wounded a number of puppet policemen. A source in al-Mahmudiyah General Hospital told Quds Press that they took in three bodies of Iraqi puppet policemen killed in the attack.

Immediately after the bombing, US and Iraqi puppet forces surrounded the area and began launching raids in nearby areas.

Diyala Province.

Al-Mundhiriyah.

Resistance bomb blasts US Marine patrol near Iranian border early Saturday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US Marine patrol on a dirt road linking Shahraban with al-Mundhiriyah on the Iraqi border with Iran at 7am Saturday morning local time.

A source in the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that the bomb exploded nest to a column that included seven US armored vehicles, destroying one armored Humvee and killing five the five Marines who were aboard it.

Afterwards, US troops surrounded the area closed the roads and evacuated the dead and wounded.

Buhriz.

Resistance fighters ambush joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol Saturday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in the Buhriz area near Ba‘qubah, 60km northeast of Baghdad at 4pm local time Saturday afternoon.

Witnesses of the Buhriz area told Mafkarat al-Islam that a detachment of about eight Iraqi Resistance fighters, armed with light and medium weapons such as RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and BKC machine gunse, attacked the joint patrol as it entered the southern neighborhoods of the Bhuriz area.

The Resistance fighters set one US Humvee and one pickup belonging to the puppet forces ablaze. Three US troops were killed and three more wounded and four Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed and five more of them injured in the ambush. The witnesses said that one of the Resistance fighters was also killed in the battle.

US Blockade of Buhriz continues, now in second week.

Heavy US forces continue to blockade the town of Buhriz, south of Ba‘qubah, for the second week in a row amidst a virtual blackout of news on the situation in the international media.

After fierce fighting erupted in the city more than a week ago when Resistance fighters attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol near the city and killed three American soldiers ﾐ by official US count ﾐ the Americans imposed a blockade on the city and launched raids and searches, arresting some 50 local persons on charges of belonging to the Iraqi Resistance.

The Americans also arrested Khalid ash-Sharifi, the puppet mayor of Buhriz, charging him with not showing cooperativeness towards the American occupation troops.

Four days ago Quds Press reported Saturday, US forces, still in “control” of the city and after having searched nearly all the houses in Buhriz, bombarded what they said was a “hide out” for Resistance fighters in the city. That attack killed and wounded a number of local residents and even killed about 10 animals in a farm in the area.

Sources in Buhriz told Quds Press that the reason for the continued US blockade of the city is that two US officers were abducted by Iraqi Resistance fighters. The Resistance later killed the two American officers, the sources said, and dumped their corpses near the US base in the city, arousing the Americans to a fury in revenge for which they continue their vindictive blockade of the city.

Services in the city have badly deteriorated as a result of being cut off from the outside world, particularly since the US forces cut off the water supply and electricity to the city and prevent merchants from bringing in any agricultural produce into Buhriz. The American aggressors even prevent the irrigation of farm fields within the blockaded area as they continue their daily raids on houses.

Medical sources in Buhriz told Quds Press that the health situation has seriously deteriorated. There is only one small hospital and small medical center in Buhriz and these are hard-pressed to take care of the needs of a population suffering from thirst, starvation and all the complex of medical problems that result. The sources expect the situation to decline sharply if the blockade is not lifted soon. In meetings with local notables, however, US forces insist that the blockade will only be lifted when the local people hand over the Resistance fighters who killed US officers to the American invaders.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance bombards US base in Samarra’ late Saturday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired eight mortar rounds into the US base in Samarra’ north of Baghdad at 6pm local time Saturday afternoon.

Residents of the as-Sikak neighborhood that lies next to the American-occupied facility told Mafkarat al-Islam that eight mortar rounds blasted into the American base setting off violent explosions and sending plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.

Ash-Shuruqat.

Resistance ambushes US supply convoy.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US truck convoy hauling provisions and equipment to US forces in the ash-Shurqat area southeast of Mosul at 1pm local time Saturday.

Residents of the ash-Shuruqat area told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance bomb went off by the convoy as it proceeded along the main road in the district. The blast set one of the American trucks on fire, killing one US soldier and wounding a second.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Battle rages in Mosul Saturday.

Fierce fighting erupted between Iraqi Resistance fighters and US and Iraqi puppet troops in Mosul on Saturday, Quds Press reported from the northern Iraqi city.

Iraqi Resistance forces armed with light and medium weapons attacked a patrol of the Iraqi puppet army on the left bank of the Tigris River in the al-Masarif neighborhood.

Witnesses told Quds Press that the Resistance fighters caught the puppet troops by surprise as it proceeded along the main road in the al-Masarif neighborhood of the city. The ensuing firefight lasted about 15 minutes before the Resistance fighters withdrew from the area when American helicopters and ground forces showed up to save their stooges. Quds Press had no direct information on the extent of casualties in the engagement although one vehicle belonging to the Iraqi puppet forces was set ablaze in the course of the fighting.

At about the same time Resistance fighters battled a detachment of US armored vehicles and other vehicles on the Sannaharib Bridge, witnesses told Quds Press, noting that the Resistance completely destroyed one of the American vehicles, killing or wounding all aboard it.

The fighting created a huge traffic jam as motorists abandoned their cars in the middle of the roads at the outbreak of combat, seeking shelter away from the battle zone. After the battle US forces launched campaigns of raids, searches and arrests in various neighborhoods of Mosul.

Tall ‘Afar.

Resistance shoots down US Cobra helicopter Saturday morning.

In a bulletin posted at 10:25am Mecca time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short time before, Iraqi Resistance forces had shot down a US Cobra helicopter in Tall ‘Afar near Mosul in northern Iraq.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that Resistance fighters fired heavy machine guns at the helicopter as it hovered at low altitude over the at-Tibn neighborhood of Tall ‘Afar, setting fire to the craft which then plummeted to earth and crashed.

The two members of the crew were able to save themselves, the correspondent reported, as the craft fell to earth, but Resistance machine gun fire killed them when they tried to escape through a field.

US forces had found the bodies of the crewmen and were encircling the crash area as the correspondent was writing up his report.
