Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance martyrdom car bomber kills eight US troops in ar-Ramadi midday Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:15pm Mecca time Sunday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove an explosives-packed car into a gathering of US and Iraqi puppet troops in the al-Mal‘ab neighborhood in eastern ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the city that the Resistance martyrdom fighter slammed his car bomb into a gathering of US and puppet troops who were searching houses looking for Resistance fighters on Martyrs’ Cemetery Street in the al-Mal‘ab neighborhood.

The witnesses said that the blast left eight American soldiers dead and wounded four more. Four Iraqi puppet troops were also killed and five more of them were wounded, the witnesses reported, adding that three Iraqi civilians were also killed in the attack.

Quds Press reported that the attack, in the al-Jumhuriyah area of ar-Ramadi, destroyed four US military vehicles and disabled two more. An American general confirmed that the attack took place but failed to give any information on the number or nature of American casualties.

Quds Press reported that after the blast, US troops encircled the area preventing residents or journalists from approaching as an American helicopter prowled the skies above the city looking for signs of Resistance fighters.

Iraqi Resistance downs US Black Hawk helicopter killing crew early Sunday.

Iraqi Resistance fighters in ar-Ramadi shot down a US Black Hawk helicopter near the US al-Warrar base west of the city Sunday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in ar-Ramadi reported residents of the ad-Dubbat neighborhood, located near the al-Warrar base, as saying that at 7am local time Sunday morning, Resistance fighters fired a shoulder-launched Strela surface-to-air rocket and struck one of the American helicopters that was on a reconnaissance mission near the base. The helicopter crashed, as a result, killing its two-man crew.

Baghdad.

Iraqi Resistance ambush reportedly leaves two US soldiers dead Sunday afternoon.

Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a joint US-Iraqi puppet patrol in the Baghdad al-Jadidah (“New Baghdad”) area in the southeast of the occupied Iraqi capital at 4pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses told the Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam that a detachment of about 10 Iraqi Resistance fighters, armed with light and medium weapons including RPG7 rocket-propelled grenades and hand grenades, attacked the joint patrol on at-Tijari Street in the New Baghdad area.

The witnesses reported that the attack set one US Humvee and three pickups belonging to the puppet forces ablaze, killing two US troops and wounding five more American soldiers. Three Iraqi puppet soldiers were killed too, and six more of them wounded.

The witnesses reported that one of the Iraqi Resistance fighters was killed in the attack and three more of them were wounded.

Resistance bomb blasts US column, killing four US troops, after two American mine sweepers fail to find explosive device.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US armored column in the Jarf as-Sakhr area south of Baghdad on Sunday.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that a Resistance bomb planted by the side of the main road in Jarf as-Sakhr exploded as a column of eight US armored vehicles and two mine sweepers passed by.

The witnesses reported that despite the presence of the mine-detecting vehicles, the American patrol was unable to detect the bomb which blew up at 2pm local time Sunday afternoon, completely destroying one US armored vehicle and killing four US troops and wounding a fifth.

Resistance fired Katyusha rockets into US base in ad-Durah midday Sunday.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired four Katyusha rockets into the US headquarters in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah at 1pm local time Sunday.

Residents of ad-Durah told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance fired medium-range Katyusha rockets into the US-occupied facility, setting off four violent explosions inside the base and sending clouds of smoke billowing into the sky over various parts of the facility.

Afterwards, American Apache helicopters were observed flying at low altitude over the base and nearby areas.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol in ar-Ridwaniyah at noon Sunday.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the village of Suraysir in the north of the ar-Ridwaniyah area, which lies in the southwestern part of Baghdad at 12 noon Sunday, local time.

Witnesses told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ridwaniyah that the Resistance roadside bomb blew up as a patrol of four US Humvees passed by. The explosion set one of the Humvees on fire, killing its four-man crew.

First Egyptian ambassador to Iraqi puppet regime abducted Saturday evening.

A source in the Egyptian Embassy in occupied Baghdad confirmed that Ihab ash-Sharif, the newly appointed Egyptian ambassador to the US puppet regime in Baghdad was abducted in the Iraqi capital a short time after arriving at his residence Saturday evening.

Al-Jazeera satellite TV, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in Cairo, who refused to give his name, as saying that the ambassador was kidnapped Saturday evening.

Ash-Sharif, who arrived in occupied Iraq on 1 June 2005 was the first Egyptian ambassador appointed to Baghdad following the American occupation of Iraq. He presented his credentials to the puppet so-called “president” of Iraq ミ the US-installed Kurdish chauvinist leader Jalal at-Talibani, about one month ago.

Later on Sunday the Iraqi puppet police repoted finding the car belonging to Ihab ash-Sharif near a restaurant in the al-Jum‘ah neighborhood of Baghdad. The vehicle had no bullet holes in it.

Death of invader soldier from El Salvador renews debate over that country’s military support for US occupation of Iraq.

The arrival home of the remains of El Salvadoran aggressor soldier Carlos Andres Godoy, who was reported killed in “an accident” the area of al-Hillah, 100km south of Baghdad on Monday, 27 June 2005, has unleashed the debate over the presence of Salvadoran troops serving the US occupation in Iraq.

The Cuban Prensa Latina news agency reported that Godoy’s was the second Salvadoran invader soldier officially killed in Iraq, the first having died in April 2004.

The return of Godoy’s remains, scheduled for Sunday, 3 July aboard a US military airplane, prompted Manuel Melgar, a Representative of the Farabundo Mart National Liberation Front in the Salvadoran National Assembly, to reiterate his party’s call for the immediate withdrawal of Salvadoran troops from Iraq.

Swiss government requests investigation after US troops kill prominent Kurdish chauvinist collaborator who had Swiss citizenship.

The Swiss Foreign Minister Micheline Calmy-Rey, said on Saturday evening that she had demanded a report from both US occupation forces and Iraqi puppet “authorities” on the shooting by US forces of Salah Jamur, an Iraqi Kurd who held Swiss citizenship and also was a member of the Swiss Social-Democratic Party in Geneva.

According to the Neue Z殲cher Zeitung am Sonntag newspaper Iraqi witnesses said that Salah Jamur, 49, and his brother were approaching an convoy of three US military vehicles in the upscale Zayunah district of Baghdad when soldiers in one of the American vehicles opened fire on their car killing Salah Jamur and wounding his brother.

The newspaper said that Jamur came to Switzerland 25 years ago and was expected to be appointed “minister of trade” in the Kurdish chauvinists separatist “state” in northern Iraq being set up under US supervision as the White House pursues its plan to break up Iraq.

Jamur earned a doctorate title from Geneva’s Graduate Institute of International Studies (GIIS), and lectured at private business schools in the city. US forces expressed regrets over the killing.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol late Sunday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol on the main road in the al-‘Alam area, south of the city of Bayji, (which is located 200km north of Baghdad.)

A source in the Iraqi traffic police who was present at the time of the explosion told Mafkarat al-Islam that a bomb that was planted by the side of the main road in the al-‘Alam area blew up as a patrol of six US Humvees was passing by at 5pm local time Sunday afternoon.

The blast set one of the Humvees on fire, killing one American soldier and wounding two more.

At-Tarimiyah.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol in at-Tarimiyah Saturday-Sunday night.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a passing US patrol in the al-Makarim area of at-Tarimiyah, north of Baghdad on Saturday-Sunday night. The correspondent for Quds Press reported that the blast destroyed one US military vehicle, killing all aboard. A US helicopter was seen landing after the attack and evacuating the dead from the scene. Residents of the area said that after the attack, US troops surrounded the area and began a search for the Resistance attackers.

US forces had encircled and imposed a blockade on at-Tarimiyah after the Resistance shot down a helicopter about a week ago. On Friday morning, 1 July 2005, US aircraft rocketed or bombed the area, killing and wounding a number of local civilians. US forces then lifted the blockade on Saturday, 2 July after six days in place, Quds Press recounted.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance martyrdom car bomber blasts US column, killing nine US troops.

An Iraqi Resistance martyrdom fighter drove a red explosives-packed Lada car into a column of US armored vehicles in Ba‘qubah, northeast of Baghdad at 9am local time Sunday morning.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the martyrdom fighter blasted into an American column in the al-Muhandisin neighborhood, totally destroying two Humvees and killing nine US soldiers. The charred bodies of the nine Americans could be seen after other US troops pulled them from the wreckage of the vehicles prior to loading them aboard helicopters for evacuation to the American Kharnabat base.

Captain Sa‘id al-‘Isawi of the Iraqi puppet army told Mafkarat al-Islam that among the dead Americans were two officers. The puppet captain also claimed that two Iraqi civilians were killed in the Resistance martyrdom attack, but the Ba‘qubah Hospital said that no civilian bodies had been brought in and therefore rejected that claim.

The Resistance organization, Base Qa‘idah of the Jihad in the Land of the Two Rivers issued a communiqu, a copy of which was received by the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam, taking responsibility for the attack.

A dispatch from Quds Press quoted a source in the Iraqi puppet police as confirming that two US Humvees were destroyed in the car bombing but gave no information regarding US casualties, saying only that American forces surrounded the area of the attack and prevented residents and journalists from approaching.

Resistance bombards US base in Ba‘qubah at dawn Sunday.

Iraqi Resistance forces bombarded the US base in Ba‘qubah with rockets at dawn on Sudnay morning. The correspondent for Quds Press reported that the Resistance barrage sent a column of black smoke rising into the sky over the US-occupied facility.

Resistance bomb blasts US foot patrol, killing four Sunday afternoon.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US foot patrol in the al-Islah az-Zira‘i area in northern Mosul at 3pm local time Sunday afternoon.

Residents of the al-Islah az-Zira‘i area told Mafkarat al-Islam that the explosive device was planted by the side of the sidewalk on the main street in the area. They said that it blew up as a foot patrol of 20 US troops was passing by.

The witnesses said that the explosion left four American troops dead and three more US soldiers wounded. One shop nearby also suffered material damage.

Resistance mortar barrage kills a reported six US troops Sunday morning.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired a mortar barrage into the US camp in the al-Yarmuk neighborhood in the middle of the northern Iraqi city of Mosul at 10am local time Sunday morning.

Witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance bombardment scored direct hits on the US camp located at the northern entrance to the al-Yarmuk neighborhood. Two Humvees were set ablaze in the attack, which also killed six American soldiers and wounded eight others.

Deadly Resistance mortar barrage pounds south Korean occupation troops Sunday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:06am Mecca time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while before Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a mortar barrage on the south Korean base in Irbil in northern Iraq.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in Irbil reported that six Iraqi Resistance mortar rounds blasted into the south Korean base, setting fire to the area of the eastern gate to the facility ミ a base of the Army of the Republic of Iraq prior to the American occupation.

Sources among the Kurdish chauvinist Peshmergah militia that works for the American occupation told Mafkarat al-Islam that the Resistance mortar attack inflicted dead and wounded among the south Koreans. For the first time, US helicopters were seen landing in the south Korean base apparently to render aid to them, the correspondent reported.

An-Nasiriyah.

Sunni Religious figure arrested Saturday.

Iraqi puppet police forces on Saturday arrested Talal ‘Abd Ma‘zil the Deputy Director of Sunni Waqf Propterty pious endowments in the region of an-Nasiriyah, an the muezzin of the al-Fadilah Mosque, 15km south of an-Nasiriyah, along with 11 other worshipers from the al-Fadilah area.

A witness told Mafkarat al-Islam that puppet police violated the sanctity of homes and attacked local Sunni families in the course of the raids in which Ma‘zil and the others were arrested.

This was the second wave of arrests among the local Sunni population. Several months ago local puppet authorities arrested the blind Sunni Shaykh ‘Uday, the Imam of the Suq ash-Shaykh Mosque along with 10 other Sunnis from mosques in an-Nasiriyah. Shaykh ‘Uday remains in prison to this day.

The latest raids and arrests also come amidst a current wave of seizures of Sunni mosques by the Shi‘i militias ミ who form the backbone of the local puppet police. The Sunni mosques of al-Butaha’, 30km north of an-Nasiriyah; ash-Shatrah, about 40km east of an-Nasiriyah; and as-Salam, still under construction in downtown an-Nasiriyah; have all been seized by the Shi‘i chauvinist militias and turned into Shi‘i facilities as the sectarian “government” of Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari pursues the aim of stirring up sectarian conflict in Iraq.
