Resistance bombards US base in western Iraq.

Iraqi Resistance forces fired five rockets into the US ‘Ayn al-Asad base in the city of Hit in western Iraq at about 5:35am local time Wednesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the barrage inflicted damage on the northern part of the US-occupied base. Witnesses said that clouds of smoke rose into the sky immediately after the attack and Black Hawk helicopters could be seen prowling the skies overheard after the barrage.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance car bomb rips through US column in ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah.

An Iraqi Resistance car bomb that had been parked by the side of a major road near ‘Amiriyat al-Fallujah, south of the city of al-Fallujah, exploded by a passing US column, according to puppet police sources quoted by al-Jazeera satellite TV in a dispatch from al-Fallujah on Wednesday.

The puppet police sources said that an American Humvee had been destroyed and a number of US troops had been wounded in the blast. Afterwards, American forces closed the road as helicopters swarmed into the area.

Residents of al-Fallujah celebrate ‘Id al-Adha Festival by bringing aid to widows and orphans of martyrs.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the League of Families of Martyrs ミ one of the groups that people in al-Fallujah have formed recently ミ distributed presents and material help on Wednesday, the second day of the Islamic ‘Id al-Adha Festival, to the widows and orphaned children left behind by martyrs killed in the First and Second Battles of al-Fallujah.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the League distributed clothing to more than 6,000 children under the age of 10 whose fathers were killed in the battles against the attacking US forces. The League also distributed financial assistance not exceeding 50,000 Iraqi Dinars for the children. Women’s clothing and financial aid was also provided to the widows of Resistance martyrs.

Mr. Ahmad ar-Rawi, the Director of the League of Families of Martyrs in al-Fallujah told a holiday gathering of their initiative. Mr. Ar-Rawi said that the League members felt a religious and moral responsibility to the wives and children of the martyrs, as children and women in other families were celebrating the holiday in the embrace of their fathers and husbands. The families of the martyrs are in a different situaion, ar-Rawi noted; “there has been no smile on their faces for a year or more, and this is what impelled us to take this step.”

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that some of the better-off families in the city had committed themselves Wednesday morning to take on a number of children of martyrs aged two or three years promising to pay for their living until they reach maturity.

Baghdad.

US-installed Shi‘i sectarian regime in Baghdad awards monthly salary equivalent to “president” or “prime minister” to go to Shi‘i sectarian authority ‘Ali as-Sistani and other Shi‘i clerics.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in an unprecedented move, the puppet “Iraqi Council of Ministers” or presidential cabinet agreed on Saturday, 7 January to grant the pro-American Shi‘i religious authority Ayatallah ‘Ali as-Sistani, an Iranian citizen, a monthly salary in addition to a material allowance twice a year.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the puppet “Iraqi Finance Ministry,” who asked not to be identified, as saying that the puppet regime of Shi‘i sectarian “Prime Minister” Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari ordered that the Shi‘i cleric be paid a monthly salary equivalent to that of the Iraqi puppet “President” or “Prime Minister,” considering that as-Sistani is the highest-ranking Shi‘i religious leader in Iraq, according to the fixed religious hierarchy characteristic of Shi‘i Islam.

According to the source, regular pay would also be given to the body of Shi‘i religious leaders headquartered in an-Najaf. Monthly salaries would now be paid in particular to the Shi‘i cleric Jalal ad-Din as-Saghir, the Shi‘i authority al-Ha’iri, and the Shi‘i religious leader al-Mudarrisi.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the source indicated that neither as-Sistani nor the Shi‘i clerics in an-Najaf had made any comment on the grant of pay ミ an indication that they were accepting it.

Resistance bomb blasts puppet “National Guards” in al-A‘zamiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 3:55pm Mecca time Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a column of Iraqi puppet “National Guard” troops on the main road in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood of Baghdad’s northern al-A‘zamiyah district.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of ad-Dubbat as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road in the neighborhood blew up as the puppet patrol drove past. The explosion damaged one patrol vehicle, wounding two Iraqi puppet troops.

Resistance bomb blasts US column in southern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:20am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier an bomb had exploded b a column of several US military Humvees and personnel carriers in southern Baghdad. The blast set fire to one of the vehicles.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American troops sealed off al-Mikanik Street where the attack occurred shortly after the incident, making it impossible to ascertain the nature or extent of US casualties.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Samarra’.

Resistance bombards US and Iraqi puppet headquarters north of Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Mecca time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces had bombarded US and Iraqi puppet military headquarters north of Baghdad with rockets.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of as-Samarra’ who witnessed the attack there as saying that Resistance forces had fired four medium-range S5K rockets into the US military headquarters near the Samarra’ Bridge. The rockets scored direct hits on the US-occupied facility, sending smoke billowing into the sky. US helicopters could be seen flying in at low altitudes over the base and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, residents of Samarra’ also reported that the Resistance had fired four medium-range S5K rockets into the headquarters of the puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops” located in the governorate building in the middle of the city. That barrage set sirens wailing ass smoke plumed into the sky. No information on the nature or extent of casualties in the two barrages was known.

Diyala Province.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance bomb blasts US column, wounding three Americans.

In a dispatch posted at 3:30pm Mecca time Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had exploded by a US military column on the road from the center of Diyala Province to the city of al-Miqdadiyah.

The Diyala Province correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the main road to al-Miqdadiyah had blown up by a passing US column, disabling one Humvee and wounding three American troops who were aboard it.

Puppet Interior Ministry troops make mass sectarian arrests during ‘Id al-Adha holiday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:55am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet “Interior Ministry” troops had arrested 33 Sunni Iraqis from their homes in a campaign of raids, searches and arrests of various neighborhoods in the city of Ba‘qubah, northeast of Baghdad.

The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents as saying that the puppet regime took advantage of the ‘Id al-Adha holiday when there would be less press coverage to carry out their sectarian raids and arrests. Among those arrested were four locally well-known religious leaders.

Resistance bombards US base in Kirkuk International Airport.

In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Mecca time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a powerful explosion shook the US base set up in Kirkuk International Airport on Wednesday morning, the second day of the ‘Id al-Adha Islamic holiday.

The Kirkuk correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that after the explosion sirens went off and smoke billowed up from inside the American-occupied facility.

Ninwa Province.

Mosul.

Resistance ambushes puppet police patrol in southeast Mosul.

In a dispatch posted at 3:50pm Mecca time Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had ambushed a patrol of Iraqi puppet police in the al-Wahdah neighborhood in southeastern Mosul, killing one puppet policeman and wounding three more of them.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local witnesses as saying that the Resistance fighters had been armed with light and medium weapons and that they withdrew from the scene after having inflicted heavy damage on the vehicles in the patril, killing one puppet policeman and wounding three more, one of them severely.

Al-Basrah Province.

Resistance ambushes puppet police patrol in southwest al-Basrah.

In a dispatch posted at 4:10pm Mecca time Wednesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters had ambushed a puppet police patrol in al-Basrah in southern Iraq.

The al-Basrah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local witnesses as saying that that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the puppet policemen as their patrol passed through the “Five Mile” area in southwestern al-Basrah. The Resistance fighters killed one puppet policeman and wounded two more of them in the attack, the witnesses said.
