Earlier the American military admitted the loss of a Marine in the course of a Resistance attack in al-Anbar Province but offered no futher details.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in eastern ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 4:25pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in eastern ar-Ramadi.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a US foot patrol accompanied by a number of armored Humvees was proceeding down a road in eastern ar-Ramadi when an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet scored a direct hit on a US soldier in the patrol, killing him instantly.

With US offensive reportedly looming, American military arrest Arab journalists in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces launched a campaign of mass arrests of Iraqi journalists who work for international, Arab, and local news agencies in ar-Ramadi. The arrests were made but no charges leveled at the journalists as the American forces renew their effort to prevent unflattering information about their failing effort in Iraq from reaching the outside world.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces arrested seven journalists including some working for Reuters, the Associated Press, the Turkish News Agency, and the Iraqi newspaper al-Manar, as well as a news photographer for Reuters. Quds Press added that one of those arrested was the correspondent for the Iraqi satellite channel az-Zawra’. All seven were taken from their homes except for the Reuters photographer, ‘Ali al-Mashhadani, who was arrested at an American checkpoint.

Quds Press reported that the roundup of the seven Iraqi journalists was in response to their continued attempts to cover the intermittent fighting between the Iraqi Resistance and US troops that breaks out from time to time in the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the puppet Provincial Government building as saying that there is information that the US occupation intends to launch an offensive on ar-Ramadi in the near future, one that might resemble their notorious offensive on al-Fallujah in which they used chemical weapons. The correspondent indicated that the Americans are therefore keen to round up all journalists in the city and keep them in detention or under control until the impending offensive has been completed. Quds Press in its report on the development also indicated that an American offensive appeared to be in the offing and that the arrests without charge of the journalists were part of the US preparation for that action.

Hit.

Resistance bomb blasts US patrol in Hit.

In a dispatch posted at 10:50am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-‘Ummal neighborhood of central Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad.

US and Iraqi puppet army forces have taken over the Youth Center and turned it into one of their local headquarters.

Residents expelled from houses in area occupied by US troops refuse to return home lest they be used as human shields by American occupation forces.

In a dispatch posted at 12 noon Makkah time Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces used loudspeakers on Friday morning to call on the residents of the industrial zone of western Hit, about 170km northwest of Baghdad, to return to the homes from which they had been driven out a year earlier by US forces. The Americans at that time took over a number of buildings in the zone for their use and forced nearby residents out of the zone. Fighting then intensified as Resistance men targeted the Americans in the district.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that on Friday the Americans tried to entice the residents back to their old homes, promising them more electricity and running water. The US forces also called on the owners of stores and workshops to return to the area around their positions.

The correspondent reported, however, that the residents of the district who have spent a year living in other parts of the city refused to return, certain that the Americans were only trying to use them as human shields to protect them from Resistance attack.

Baghdad.

Resistance groups pledge to continue armed struggle, refuse to recognize puppet “government” of al-Maliki or any other so long as occupation continues.

Five Iraqi Resistance organizations issued a statement on Saturday in which they reiterated their rejection of the puppet “government” under US-installed “Prime Minister” Nuri al-Maliki and pledged to continue the armed struggle until Iraq is totally free of foreign occupation.

In a dispatch from Baghdad, Quds Press reported that the Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, the Islamic front for Iraqi Resistance, the Army of the Rightly Guided Caliphs [Jaysh ar-Rashidin], the Jihadi Groups of Iraq [‘Asa’ib al-‘Iraq al-Jihadiyah], and the Squadrons of empowerment [Saraya at-Tamkin] jointly issued a communiqu stating that they had “pledged themselves to continue raising their arms in the face of the occupation and continue to battle it until the country and the God’s servants in it are liberated [from the occupation] and from their stooges.”

In the communiqu, the five Resistance groups said that their position regarding the puppet government was “not to recognize the legitimacy of any government under the shade of the occupation, whatever form it might take.”

The statement warned Iraqis “not to be taken in by the plans of the occupation to sell out or to depart from their true aim, which is liberation.”

The statement appeared to be a response to a call issued by the puppet regime for a “dialogue” with the Resistance in an attempt to put an end to the armed struggle against the US occupation and the various puppet governments and authorities it has set up since invading the country in the spring of 2003.

Leaflets threaten Palestinian refugees with torture and death.

In a dispatch posted at 8:16pm Moscow time Saturday night, the Russian news agency Novosti reported that leaflets had once again been circulated in Baghdad threatening the lives of Palestinian refugees resident in occupied Iraq.

Pavel Davydov reported that the leaflets, distributed during the night before Saturday in the northern Baghdad district of Tubji, gave Palestinians 10 days to leave the territory of Iraq. Those who do not do so, the leaflets say, “will meet the fate of Sabah ‘Abd al-Qadir,” whose body bearing signs of torture was recovered in Baghdad’s Bab al-Mu‘azzam district last week.

In all, Davydov reported, at least three Palestinians were murdered and two more wounded in the last week alone.

Mysterious bomb targets civilians in Baghdad market.

In a dispatch posted at 10:37am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mysterious bomb exploded in the al-‘Amil neighborhood in southwestern Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-‘Amil as saying that the bomb was planted near the popular market in the neighborhood on Saturday morning. Preliminary reports indicated that the blast killed three civilians and wounded six more of them.

In contrast to Iraqi Resistance attacks, which have clear and defined targets ミ occupation troops or armed forces, officials, or collaborators with the US-installed puppet regime ミ this attack appeared targeted exclusively on civilians.

Such mysterious bombings are widely viewed as a part of an Anglo-American effort to rescue their failing fortunes in Iraq by sparking a sectarian civil war in the country enabling them to fulfill their plans of partitioning the country along ethnic and religious lines.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported farmers in the area as saying that at about 4pm on Friday nine mortar rounds blasted nito the US headquarters, sending plumes of smoke rising into the sky as sirens wailed inside the camp. Helicopters flew into the area afterward.

Afterwards, the farmers reported, American troops carried out raids and searches of nearby farms and groves, destroying all their crops with their tanks and armored vehicles.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in Samarra’ Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 12:05pm Makkah time midday Saturday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in Samarra’ on Thursday night.

The Samarra’ correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the ar-Ribat neighborhood of the city as saying that a US soldier who was on duty at a checkpoint opposite the neighborhood mosque was struck in the face and killed by an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet.

Witnesses said that there were a number of children playing in the street at the time the soldier was killed and that the Americans rounded them all up and kept them nearby as human shields for a time, lest the Resistance sharpshooter strike again. Meanwhile US forces raided the mosque and went up into the minaret but found no sign of the sharpshooter. Reportedly if anyone objected, the Sulagh relatives would summon the puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” who would then arrest them.

Witnesses said that the abductors tied up the nine relatives and put them in the trunks of their cars and then drove them away to unknown destinations.

Bayan Jabr Sulagh, head of the Shi‘i sectarian Da‘wah party, was puppet “Interior Minister” in the outgoing Ibrahim al-Ja‘fari puppet government. During his administration, the activity of sectarian death squads, which have kidnapped, tortured and murdered hundreds of Iraqis throughout the country, hypertrophied to its present rampant level.
