Three US soldiers were killed and two more of them wounded, the correspondent reported.

Baghdad.

Women, religious scholars, physicians among the 103 bodies of Sunni Iraqis found tortured and murdered in the last 48 hours, as Shii sectarian death squads sow death and terror in keeping with plan to partition Iraq along sectarian and ethnic lines.

In a dispatch posted at 3:20pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a official with the Forensic Medicine Department in Baghdad announced that the number of bodies that had been found in the previous 48 hours apparent victims of sectarian murders was 103. All were Sunni Iraqis killed by pro-American Shii sectarian militias and dumped in public squares, garbage dumps, and sewers.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the official, in an exclusive statement, said that the bodies were found in the Baghdad districts of ath-Thawrah, ash-Shulah, the neighborhoods of Ur, ash-Shab, at-Tubji, al-Baladiyat, and al-Bayya, and also in the cities of as-Samawah, al-Hilah, an-Nasiriyah, Abu Dushayr, and Hur Rajab. All the bodies suffered various forms of torture before being killed.

The medical source told the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent that six religious scholars, five medical doctors, four women, and a large number of particularly devout Sunnis arrested after coming out of mosques were among the dead and he emphasized that all had been tortured.

The medical source said that the morgue in the Forensic Medicine Department at the present time held only 80 of the 103 bodies collected in the last two days because that was the capacity of its coolers. The other bodies were in refrigerated rooms. He said that he fully expected that yet more bodies would be received in coming hours as the sectarian terror unleashed by the pro-American militias in keeping with a strategy of partitioning the country on sectarian lines proceeds.

The correspondent reported that the US-installed government had only admitted the discovery of 50 bodies in the past two days, but the medical source noted that it was the puppet regimes standard procedure under the last puppet Prime Minister Ibrahim al-Jafari to report only half the number of bodies picked up around the country. The newly appointed US puppet Prime Minister, Jawad al-Maliki, is a long-time associate of al-Jafari.

One of the latest expressions of the American strategy of using sectarianism to split Iraq up into mini-states was the article Unity through autonomy in Iraq, by US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden and President Emeritus of the American Foreign Policy Association Leslie Gelb that appeared on Monday, 1 May 2006 in The New York Times.

The practice of splitting the political administration and political life in Iraq along sectarian lines and fostering increased sectarian dissention has, however, been a constant feature by the US occupation since the American invasion of the country in the spring of 2003 and the establishment under US proconsul L. Paul Bremer of a puppet Governing Council split according to religious and ethnic affiliation.

Witnesses said that the car bomb was apparently intended for an Iraqi puppet police patrol that drove through the area but it detonated moments after the patrol passed.

The US military is known to have been supplied with electronic jamming devices that prevent some remote-control bombs from being detonated adjacent to their columns. When these jamming devices are in use, bombs intended for the patrol explode just after the patrol has passed by and left the area.

Resistance bomb rips through puppet Iraqi National Guard patrol in al-Azamiyah.

Major general in Iraqi puppet security services reported arrested in connection with widespread sectarian abduction, torture, and murder.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US-installed puppet Iraqi Interior Minister Bayan Jabr Sulagh had announced that the puppet police had arrested a major general it their service on suspicion of involvement with the sectarian kidnap, torture, and death squads that operate within the ranks of the puppet security services under the American occupation regime in Iraq.

Reuters, as monitored by Mafkarat al-Islam, reported that Bayan Jabr Sulagh announced that the puppet police had arrested a major general and 17 other individuals suspected of kidnapping, torturing, and killing Iraqis.

The statement offered no further details, not indicating when the arrests took place or whether they were among those reported picked up in a supposed crack down on the death squads announced by the puppet regime several weeks ago.

Prior to the recent publicity about puppet regime efforts to halt sectarian abductions and murders, US occupation forces arrested the puppet Interior Minister Bayan Jabr Sulagh himself on 21 December 2005 following the media disclosure of a secret prison run by his Ministry in the occupied Iraqi capital. Interior Minister Sulagh is also concurrently a commander of the Shii sectarian Badr Brigades the main militia said to be behind the rampant campaign of sectarian kidnap, torture, and murder.

But Bayan Jabr Sulagh did not remain in US custody for long: he was released late on 23 December, just hours after the arrival in Baghdad of US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld another official who is no stranger to torture investigations.
