Al-Anbar Province.

Al-Hadithah.

At least 10 US troops reported killed in bombing and hour-long gun battle near al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 4:25pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a fierce battle erupted between Iraqi Resistance forces and US troops after a Resistance bomb exploded by a US column in the al-Haqlaniyah area north of the city of al-Hadithah, about 300km northwest of Baghdad.

The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Iraqi Resistance detonated a bomb by a US military column opposite the northern Ayyar Hotel in the middle of al-Haqlaniyah. Residents of the area and guests in the hotel who were present at the time of the blast said that the explosion destroyed a US personnel carrier, instantly killing five American troops.

The witnesses said that the Americans quickly extracted the bodies from the wrecked vehicle and put them in plastic bags. Ten minutes after the explosion as large numbers of US troops were gathered around the scene, Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the American troops, sparking a violent gun battle that lasted for more than an hour.

The intensity of the Resistance attack drove the Americans into the hotel where they took cover and fired back at the Resistance men, calling in support from helicopter gun ships. But when the American helicopters arrived they rocketed the hotel by mistake, thinking that the Resistance fighters were inside rather than outside the building. The helicopter attack largely destroyed the hotel, inflicting casualties on the US forces.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent was unable to get exact information on the number of Americans killed in the battle, but eyewitnesses confirmed seeing five bodies of US troops being pulled from the rubble of the hotel.

The correspondent reported that the American helicopter also rocketed a private home near the hotel, killing the homeowner, his wife and mother.

After the battle, US forces set up a security perimeter around the entire area in al-Haqlaniyah where the combat took place. Heightened security measures were sill in force at the time of writing.

Ar-Ramadi.

Mourners at funeral for victims of US bombing forced to walk 12 kilomters due to US ban on motor traffic in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 7:30pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a gathering of the people of ar-Ramadi laid four victims of the American offensive to rest on Friday. Two of the dead were a woman and child killed in American bombing on Thursday evening.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the funeral procession wound its way on foot for 12 kilometers from the al-Hajj Salih mosque to the city Martyrs Cemetery. US forces have prohibited local people from driving any cars in the city, which American forces have blockaded and where US troops have been carrying out raids since early Wednesday morning.

At least five members of Iraqi family killed in US air raid in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 5:55pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier US aircraft rocketed a private home in northeastern ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical first aid worker as saying that according to preliminary figures, the American air attack killed five members of one family, a man, his wife and their three children.

Thats how many we have pulled out from under the rubble so far. But neighbors of the victims are sure that there were more people in the house, relatives who had fled from Baghdad because of the murders of the Sunnis by the Shiah there, the aid worker told Mafkarat al-Islam.

So were continuing to search until were sure that we have got all the victims out, the medical aid worker concluded.

Puppet officer claims major US bombing sweep of ar-Ramadi will be next stage of American campaign there.

In a dispatch posted at 3:15pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an officer in the Iraqi puppet army had described the current US offensive on the people of ar-Ramadi as an effort to slowly bleed what he described as al-Qaidah and other armed groups in the city. The puppet officer said that this operation was in preparation for what they hoped would be final elimination of the Resistance.

In keeping with the American propaganda approach of dropping the name al-Qaidah in a constant effort to justify their operations in Iraq, the puppet officer claimed that the organizations supposed presence in ar-Ramadi had turned that city into a second al-Fallujah where the present searches and arrests and occasionally assaults will be followed up by heavy airstrikes to kill off the fighters.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the puppet officer, who would not give his name, as saying: the air strikes, arrests of suspects, and the bombardment of possible nests of al-Qaidah men are the start of a big campaign in the city that will soon be put into action.

The puppet officer said, the number of armed men who are present in ar-Ramadi can be got rid of and killed by air strikes as was done in al-Fallujah, al-Qaim, and Tall Afar. Those will be followed by large-scale ground operations in the city and its environs.

The puppet officer added: ar-Ramadi has become a second al-Fallujah after al-Qaidahs commanders gathered.

US tanks blast houses in northern ar-Ramadi.

In a bulletin posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, US tanks had shelled residential homes in the as-Sikak neighborhood of northern ar-Ramadi.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US tanks which had halted in the middle of ar-Ramadi near the big mosque suddenly opened fire on houses in the as-Sikak neighborhood. The American barrage destroyed six vacant houses in the neighborhood, killing four men who were inside.

Ambulances and fire trucks raced to the scene and for the first time since the start of their offensive on the city at dawn Wednesday, the Americans allowed the emergency vehicles into the stricken area to help the victims.

US launches extensive campaign of raids, searches, and arrests in villages east of ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 9:50am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces launched an extensive campaign of raids and searches in the villages east of the city of ar-Ramadi.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam in the eastern part of ar-Ramaid reported that US occupation footsoldiers backed up by dozens of vehicles and helicopter gun ships stormed through the villages of as-Sajariyah, al-Bu Fahd, al-Bu Ali al-Jazim and the areas around the al-Jazirah region, raiding houses and farms.

At the time of reporting, the Americans had arrested 50 peasants, confiscating their personal light arms such as hunting guns, in their campaign, which was still underway according to sources in the villages.

Al-Habbaniyah.

In a dispatch posted at 7:25pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in an indication of the expectations of US military in western Iraqs al-Anbar Province, American forces on Friday opened a military hospital exclusively for American armed forces personnel in the sprawaling al-Habbaniyah base, 69km west of Baghdad. Prior to the American invasion, al-Habbaniyah was an Iraqi Air Force training facility

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the US-run Iraqi puppet army who works as a translator for the Americans on the base as saying that the opening ceremony for the Shifa Hospital took place at 10am and was attended by high ranking officers and US military doctors.

The source said that the 300-bed facility had four large operating theaters and recuperation rooms as well as 15 military medical personnel specializing in major operations and war wounds. The facility is to be directed by a US Marine physician, Dr. Thomas Reed [spelling not confirmed].

The source said that starting tomorrow, Saturday, the new hospital would begin receiving the US military patients currently receiving treatment on American bases in Hit, al-Fallujah, al-Hadithah, al-Qaim, Rawah, Anah, Jubbah, al-Karmah, as-Saqlawiyah, and ar-Ramadi. The facility will only take in soldiers wounded in operations in al-Anbar Province.

The source commented that the opening of the hospital was without doubt an ominous sign.

Baghdad.

Resistance Katyusha rockets blast puppet Police Academy on Palestine Street in Baghdad.

In a bulletin posted at 9:45am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had fired seven Katyusha rockets into the puppet Police Academy in Baghdad.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the ferocious barrage sent clouds of smoke billowing into the sky from the facility. Eyewitnesses reported that a US helicopter and a vehicle entered the Academy after the attack, though flames and smoke were still coming from the facility at the time of reporting.

The correspondent noted that Friday is the day when puppet police cadets and puppet police officers repair to the academy located on Palestine Street in the occupied Iraqi capital.

Salah ad-Din Province.

Ad-Duluiyah.

Ressitance assault on Kurdish separatist checkpoint leaves four Peshmergah gunmen dead.

In a dispatch posted at 4:15pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters assaulted a checkpoint manned by pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militiamen in the city of ad-Duluiyah, 97km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source in ad-Duluiyah as saying that Resistance fighters armed with hand grenades and light machine guns attacked the Peshmergah check point on the main street in the city. The attack left four of the Peshmergah gunmen dead and a fifth mortally wounded, the source said.

The medical source said that as the Peshmergah casualties were being evacuated to the hospital, the militiamen opened fire indiscriminately at local people, killing one man, Rabih Muhammad who was an employee in an office, and inflicting moderately severe wounds on a second local resident.

Samarra.

Americans ban Friday congregational prayers in four main Samarra mosques, affronting local believers.

In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces banned Friday congregational prayers at four mosques in the city of Samarra, about 120km north of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans locked the Mosque of Abu Ubaydah Amir ibn al-Jarrah, the Mosque of al-Haqq, the Samarra Mosque, and the al-Mustafa Mosque on Friday morning, preventing worshippers from gathering there for the congregational prayers, which take place just after midday.

US Abrams tanks were positioned at the gates of the main mosques of the city preventing the holding of services or even the call to prayer in the houses of worship.

The Americans left all the mosque areas at about 2:30pm local time, after the usual time for the congregational prayers and sermon.

With the main mosques closed, local people went to football pitches and public parks to hold congregational prayer services and the Americans did nothing to stop those activities, the correspondent reported.

The people of Samarra regarded the Americans closing down of the mosques a provocation of their religious feelings, particularly since one of the Americans mounted a wooden cross about one meter high on his tank as he sat blocking the entrance to Samarra Mosque.

Babil Province.

The sectarian attackers shot and killed Shaykh Abd al-Aziz along with two of his sons.

The al-Hillah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Shaykhs house is only 500 meters from a checkpoint jointly manned by US and Iraqi puppet troops and that a group of more than 10 sectarian Shii militiamen attacked the house wearing face masks and carrying light machine guns. The circumstances made it likely that the murder was carried out with the tacit approval of the Americans and their sectarian puppet forces.

The correspondent reported that the pro-American Shii sectarian gunmen sprayed Shaykh Abd al-Aziz with machinegun bullets when he opened his door, thinking they were normal visitors or guests. Residents of the neighborhood said that the gunmen then killed the Shaykhs eldest son Abd al-Qahhar and another son Abd al-Muizz and then fled the scene.

The Iraqi puppet police hurried to the scene, but after learning that the victim was the Imam of one of the citys Sunni mosques, the left, telling the ambulance to take the body of the Shaykh and his sons to the city hospital and leaving the Shaykhs wife and four daughters weeping over the bodies and imploring God for help.

In a dispatch posted at 2:10pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance fired four heavy mortar round at the puppet police academy in the northeastern part of the northern city of al-Mawsil (Mosul) on Friday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the four mortar shells blasted into the second puppet police academy in al-Mawsil, located the ash-Shalalat section of town. The barrage killed five puppet police cadets and wounded 11 more of them, the source disclosed.

The sources said that US helicopters pinpointed the source of the incoming Resistance fire and then surrounded and combed through the area, but afterwards they issued no statement, which they usually do when they wish to boast about having captured or killed Resistance fighters.

Maysan Province.

Al-Amarah.

Resistance mortars blast British Abu Naji camp before dawn Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:50pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces blasted the British-occupied Abu Naji military camp, 5km south of al-Amarah with three mortar rounds at 3am local time Friday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Dahham Muhsin of the city Fire Department as saying that one of the shells landed outside the base but the other two exploded inside the British-occupied facility inflicting material damage on three British military vehicles. Muhsin said that the barrage inflicted no casualties, however.

Afterwards Iraqi puppet police launched a campaign of raids and arrests in Sunni villages west of al-Amarah, about 60km from the Iranian border in southeastern Iraq. Sources in the al-Bazzun tribe told Mafkarat al-Islam that the puppet police rounded up and arrested 15 local villagers claiming that they had been involved in the bombardment of the British base.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of homes in the vicinity of the as-Sikak district near old airport as saying that the six rockets were fired close together in time. After the barrage, four plumes of smoke could be seen rising from the British base as sirens wailed inside the facility. British helicopters were also seen prowling the sky over the area.
