Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.

In preparation for an expected offensive, US forces seal off ar-Ramadi, cut off all water, electricity, fuel from the city, destroy or seize all medical supplies.

In a dispatch posted at 7:05pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, US occupation forces had begun to seal off the city of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad. The blockade that the US forces are imposing on the city closes all approaches to the city and cuts it off from the Euphrates River ad the al-Warrar water treatment project facility.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Americans have deployed hundreds of troops around the city, preventing anyone from entering or exiting. Afterwards, the Americans shot off the electricity grid, turned off the fresh water supply and completely shut down all the oil and gasoline stations in the city.

The correspondent reported that the Americans also bombarded all medical storage facilities where medicine was kept and closed all medical clinics, confiscating their first aid supplies.

At the time of reporting, American warplanes and helicopter gunships were prowling the skies at extremely low altitudes.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that it would have three reporters in the city ready to cover the expected American offensive as events unfold.

Al-Khalidiyah.

Two US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing near al-Khalidiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 1:55pm Makkah time Tuesday afternooon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a foot patrol of US and Iraqi puppet soldiers in the Jazirat al-Khalidiyah area, about 80km west of Baghdad.

The al-Khalidiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the Jazirat al-Khalidiyah area as saying that a bomb that had been planted by a farm road in the al-Mulajamah area exploded as a joint patrol was walking past. The blast killed two US soldiers and two Iraqi puppet army troops and wounded two more Iraqi puppet soldiers as well.

After the attack, US and Iraqi puppet troops surrounded the area and arrested three villagers whom they accused of carrying out attacks on the occupation forces in al-Khalidiyah.

Al-Fallujah.

Resistance sharpshooter reportedly kills US soldier in al-Fallujah Monday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 1:57pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US soldier in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that a US soldier who was on watch atop an observation tower in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood of the city Monday evening when he took a direct hit in the chest from an Iraqi sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly.

An Iraqi puppet “National Guardsman” was also killed by an Iraqi Resistance marksman while on foot patrol in the al-Jawlan neighborhood in the northwest of al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 4:40pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters assaulted a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet “National Guards” on the road to ‘Akr Kuf east of Abu Ghurayb, about 30km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Abu Ghurayb as saying that Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons and pipe rockets assaulted the temporary checkpoint. The attackers destroyed a puppet “Guard” pickup, killing four of the puppet troops and wounding three more of them ミ one of them a captain in the Iraqi puppet army.

Baghdad.

Resistance bombing sparks 20-minute firefight between Iraqi Resistance and American troops accompanied by their Iraqi puppet army allies.

In a dispatch posted at 2:35pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting broke out between Iraqi Resistance fighters and US occupation troops accompanied by their Iraqi puppet army allies in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ad-Durah as saying that a battle erupted after an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol in the al-Mahdiyah area of ad-Durah, disabling one puppet army pickup.

US and Iraqi puppet troops then cordoned off the area, at which point Resistance fighters armed with light and medium weapons attacked the Americans and their puppet army allies igniting a firefight that lasted for about 20 minutes.

Eyewitnesses said that the fighting left a second puppet army vehicle disabled and two US Humvees damaged. No information on casualties in the encounter was available because of the security cordon that the occupation troops had imposed around the area, and because the Americans fired their weapons indiscriminately all around the area to keep every one far away from the scene of the attack.

Resistance bomb in as-Sayyidiyah kills four Iraqi puppet “National Guards”.

In a dispatch posted at 11:15am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army patrol in the southern Baghdad area of as-Sayyidiyah.

Russian Foreign Ministry takes measures to enhance security of embassy and staff in Baghdad. At time of kidnapping of Russian diplomats, puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” troops were responsible for security of outside perimeter. Suspicions of Washington’s involvement begin to surface.

In the aftermath of the murder/kidnapping of Russian embassy personnel in Baghdad on Saturday, 3 June, the Russian News Agency RIA Novosti on Tuesday asked Mikhail Kamynin, the official spokesman of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow, how the safety of Russian embassy staff in Baghdad was now being assured.

Kamynin told Novosti that “until the incident when staff members of the Russian embassy in Baghdad were taken hostage, the comprehensive security system of the diplomatic mission was constructed on the basis of the real military-political situation in the city.” Kamynin said, “Internal physical protection was provided by the professionally trained staff of the reinforced commandant’s service [military police]. The external perimeter was guarded by a special unit of Iraqi Interior Ministry forces,” Kamynin said, referring to the puppet regime’s “Interior Ministry” troops.

“At the present time,” Kamynin went on, “additional measures to strengthen the protection of the embassy and its staff are being taken. For understandable reasons, we would rather not talk about their precise nature.”

News reports on Saturday mentioned an exchange of gunfire between the Russian diplomats and their abductors but said nothing of any puppet “Interior Ministry” forces clashing with kidnappers.

Russian journalist Maksim Makarychev, in an article in the Russian daily Rossiyskaya Gazeta on Tuesday, quoted ‘Abbas Khalaf, ambassador of Iraq in Moscow prior to the American invasion in 2003, as saying that the kidnapping of Russian diplomats was an American provocation “to punish Russia for its active policy in the region and especially in Iraq.” Makarychev reported that since no political group has claimed responsibility for the abduction, many believe that it was a kidnapping for ransom. They point out that some 250 foreigners have been abducted for ransom since the US invasion of Iraq.

But if this were also true in the case of the abducted Russian diplomats, Makarychev wrote, one cannot understand why no one has contacted the embassy to arrange ransom payment.

It is also strange, Makarychev wrote, that there have been several false reports that the diplomats had been released. On Monday morning, for example, several western media quoted the Iraqi puppet “Interior Ministry” as saying that the Russians had been set free by an armed operation at 7pm Saturday night. But these reports not confirmed by the command of the Iraqi puppet police and were denied by the Russian Embassy, where on Tuesday the whereabouts of the four kidnapped staff members remained unknown.

In a dispatch posted at 10:10pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces on Tuesday afternoon finally completely took control of the city of ad-Dulu‘iyah, 97km north of Baghdad, and the villages around it after days of a brutal blockade and slow, strangulating siege.

The ad-Dulu‘iyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces accompanied by their Kurdish Separatist Peshmergah allies, entered the last neighborhood of ad-Dulu‘iyah near the post office building on Tuesday afternoon after an unequal battle in which the Resistance and local defenders lost more than 60 men.

The correspondent reported that the women and children of the city are now at the mercy of the occupation troops who are ransacking the city and searching houses, one after the other. The correspondent reported that more than 100 local men had been arrested by the US invaders so far.

The correspondent, who miraculously able to avoid the grasp of the occupation troops and escape the falling city, said that the way is now open for the occupation forces to do whatever they want to the surviving population with no one there to witness their activity now that they have seized hold of the city, from which all journalists have fled.

One Iraqi woman by the name of Umm Khudayr blew herself up in the midst of a detachment of US troops who entered her house at about 7pm Tuesday afternoon. But the number of casualties that her fida’i attack caused is not known.

The correspondent reported that he people of the city ask Muslims to repeat the prayer they have recited using cell phones: “Oh God, preserve the virtues of our sisters in ad-Dulu‘iyah, abandon those who abandoned them, and throw back the plots of those who oppose them.”

One week ago, on 30 May, the US commander around ad-Dulu‘iyah launched his offensive, threatening that he would order his men to “rape every woman in the city” if the residents of ad-Dulu‘iyah failed to turn in the Resistance fighters to the Americans ミ something they vowed would be done “over their dead bodies.”

(See “Women of ad-Dulu‘iyah don explosive belts after US commander threatens to order his men to ‘rape all the women in the city’ if Resistance fighters aren’t handed over by Wednesday. The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that the nine heads were found on the road to as-Sudfah in al-Hadidah village near al-Khalis, about 60km north of Baghdad. The source said that stray dogs had found the boxes, torn them open and ripped the heads out of the plastic bags. A medical source told Mafkarat al-Islam that preliminary reports indicated that the heads had been cut off some four days earlier.

A medical source in Ba‘qubah General Hospital who asked not to be identified told Mafkarat al-Islam that the heads belonged to Sunni Iraqis and included that of Shaykh ‘Awwad Dahham az-Zuhayri, the Imam of the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque in Diyala; three worshippers from the same mosque, and five other Sunni youths who disappeared from their homes a week earlier.

Although the Iraqi puppet police banned photos of the heads, the correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam was able to snap a picture (available at http://www.islammemo.cc/news/one_news.asp?IDNews=113175).

On Saturday, 3 June, banana boxes containing the severed heads of eight other Sunnis were discovered by the puppet police in Ba‘qubah. A reward of 1 million Iraqi dinars plus a 10-day leave went to militiamen who brought in the head of a Sunni Imam, the correspondent reported.
