Al-Fallujah.

Four US troops reported killed in powerful bomb explosion in al-Mafraq near al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 5:45pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US tank in the al-Khalidiyah area near al-Fallujah. The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a captain in the Iraqi puppet army as saying that the Resistance had planted a high-explosive bomb the went off by an American Abrams tank in the al-Mafraq area, about 15km east of al-Fallujah. The explosion destroyed the tank, killing four US troops aboard it and wounding a fifth. The source added that, following the attack, US troops launched an extensive wave of searches and arrests of houses along the street, capturing nine men. Meanwhile, American helicopters evacuated the bodies of the dead and the wounded men to the US military hospital at the American base in al-Habbaniyah.

US air raid kills four civilians south of al-Fallujah Thursday night.

In a dispatch posted at 10:30am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US warplanes struck a house in thevillage of az-Zaydan to the south of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, late on Thursday night. The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that two US fighter bombers fired two missiles on a house and farm in the az-Zaydan area. The attack killed four civilians, including a two-year old child and a nine-month-old child. Five other civilians were severely wounded, three of them women. A doctor in Abu Ghurayb Hospital told Mafkarat al-Islam that all the dead and wounded were civilians. He said that killed in the raid were the two children and an elderly man as well as another man. On Friday morning, however, the American propaganda radio beamed at the local population clamed that the attack had targeted “terrorists” as the US forces refer to Iraqi Resistance fighters.

Shi‘i sectarian militiamen try to storm Sunni mosque during Friday services, sparking gun battle with mosque security guards.

In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a violent clash erupted when pro-American Shi ‘ sectarian militiamen tried to storm into a Sunni mosque in Baghdad during Friday congregational prayer services. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that guards posted atop the Bilal al-Habashi Mosque on Qahtan Square in downtown Baghdad and in the minaret of the mosque opened fire on Shi‘i sectarian gunmen who tried to storm into the building as the Imam was delivering his sermon inside. Worshippers in the mosque, which is located in a Sunni area of Baghdad, came to the Friday services in defiance of a curfew, which, as in past weeks, was imposed in Sunni areas time to prevent them from holding Friday worship services.

Six bodies of murdered Sunnis dumped in Baghdad by gunmen in puppet “Interior Ministry” cars.

In a dispatch posted at 4:45pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier six bodies of Sunni youths had been dumped by the ash-Shawwaf Mosque in Baghdad. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that gunmen in white cars belonging to the puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” parked their cars near the ash-Sawwaf Mosque, and threw the six bodies out by the wall of the mosque. Local people were able to identify the bodies as belonging to Sunni Iraqis because the identity cards they found on the bodies identified them as such.

Bodies of six technology students from al-Anbar Province, abducted by Shi‘i sectarian death squads, found in Baghdad.

In a bulletin posted at 11:25am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet police had found the bodies of some of the Sunni students abducted by pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade militias from the Technological University’s student housing on Monday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying that six bodies of students arrested by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry” forces and Shi‘i sectarian militias were found. Among the six was a student named ‘Umar Muhammad whose body was particularly mutilated.

Later, in a dispatch posted at 6:15pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported relatives of the slain student in al-Fallujah as saying that they had received word that the pro-American Badr Brigade death squad unit led by Shi‘i sectarian leader Jalal as-Saghir and headquartered in Baghdad’s Buratha Mosque had carried out the abduction of their son and his classmates. Russia offers US$10 million for information leading to capture of killers of Russian diplomats.

In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Moscow time Friday afternoon, the Russian ITAR-TASS news agency reported that the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee will coordinate the special services’ efforts in fulfilling President Vladimir Putin’s order to hunt down the killers of Russian diplomats in Iraq, Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Nikolai Patrushev told journalists. “The National Antiterrorist Committee will pay a reward of $10 million for information that can help achieve a result,” Patrushev said following a conference that the Russian President held with the permanent members of the Russian Security Council Friday.

Romanian President contradicts Prime Minister’s call for troop withdrawal from Iraq.

Romanian President Traian Basescu said it was “unacceptable” that the Premier and the Defence Minister of the country had made a decision to pull Romanian occupation troops out of Iraq. “Any decision on matters of national security must be taken further to consultations between relevant institutions of the Romanian State and with foreign partners. President Traian Basescu regards as unacceptable the manner in which the Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence presented their opinion on the Romanian military presence in Iraq,” read a news release issued by the Presidential Administration and quoted by the Romanian newspaper Nine O’Clock on Friday.

Nine O’Clock reported that Basescu said that Romania must comply with the international security commitments it has undertaken within NATO, UN and EU and international “coalitions” of which it is a part. The Romanian president indicated that he feared that American-dominated foreign partners would not see Romania as a reliable, steady and predictable country in its domestic and foreign policy decisions if it deviates from US wishes and withdraws its 890 soldiers from Iraq.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

US troops reportedly rape, murder young Iraqi girl after first killing her family in her home in al-Mahmudiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 8pm Makkah time Friday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi translator as disclosing that US forces had opened an investigation into an incident where American troop raped an Iraqi girl after killing her family in her home in the middle of al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad. The al-Mahmudiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported an Iraqi who works as a translator saying that the scandal was revealed during an argument among the soldiers who had committed the crime, one of them acknowledging the secret.

The soldier indicated that during house-to-house searches in al-Mahmudiyah they found a small family in a house some distance from the rest of the city. A young girl in the house attracted them so they killed her relatives, raped her, and then killed her after that, the translator recounted. In its version of the story, the US military announced that it was investigating a March incident in al-Mahmudiyah in which a girl was raped and her family then killed. The US military, as reported by the American Associated Press (AP) said that two of the soldiers in the unit had been abducted and killed in al-Yusufiyah, causing one survivor to feel remorse and confess his role in the rape and murder.

Tall ‘Afar.

US carries out massive raids and arrests in Tall ‘Afar.

In a dispatch posted at 2:56pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces and their Iraqi puppet army allies arrested more than 40 people during an extensive campaign of raids, searches, and arrests in Sunni districts of the city of Tall ‘Afar, west of al-Mawsil, on Thursday night. The Tall ‘Afar correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that among the 40 people arrested were five children under 12 years of age. The campaign of raids and arrests was still under way at the time of reporting and pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigade militia were supporting the operation and reinforcing its sectarian character.

Resistance mortars blast British Abu Naji base at dawn Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:49am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance force fired four heavy mortar rounds into the British Abu Naji base near the city of al-‘Amarah, some 60km from the Iranian border in southeastern Iraq at dawn on Friday. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the al-Wahdah neighborhood puppet police station ミ which is located in the vicinity of the British base ミ said that one British soldier was killed in the barrage and five more wounded. The al-‘Amarah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the neighborhoods of al-Wahdah and ar-Risalah as saying that the Resistance fired four heavy mortar shells at the British installation at 5am local time, sending clouds of black smoke rising into the sky, followed by a powerful explosion that shook the entire facility. The puppet police source told Mafkarat al-Islam that British helicopter evacuated the wounded to a British hospital in southern Iraq.
