Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Hadithah.

Resistance source says six US Marines killed in three Resistance attacks in al-Hadithah on Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:05pm Makkah time Monday afternoon Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters clashed with US troops in al-Hadithah, about 220km northwest of Baghdad on three separate occasions on Monday.

The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi Resistance as saying that they launched three surprise attacks with pipe rockets and medium machine guns on US troops in as-Subhani, al-Haqlaniyah, and in the middle of al-Hadithah proper, killing five US Marines and wounding more.

The source said that two Humvees were destroyed and another disabled in the course of the fighting.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that after the Resistance attacks, US troops moved to seal off the city and began mass raids and arrests in numerous neighborhoods of the city under air cover from Apache helicopter gun ships that hovered above them.

Ar-Ramadi.

Tribal leaders in al-Anbar pledge loyalty to the Resistance, deny report circulated by Reuters and New York Times claiming tribal support for US effort against Resistance.

In a dispatch posted at 7:55pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that contrary to a Reuters dispatch that claimed that tribal leaders in ar-Ramadi had agreed to turn over Resistance fighters to the American occupation authorities, the tribal leaders have in fact refused to do so.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shaykh Farhan Khalil Khanjar, one of the tribal leaders of al-Anbar as saying, everything that the western news agencies said about an alliance of the tribes to crack down on al-Qaidah and the Iraqi Resistance is a cheap lie with no basis in fact. But we are in no way surprised that such announcements might be made since the province today is at the peak of its fighting trim against the occupation, and therefore the occupation have opted to spread this story to cover up their losses.

Shaykh Khanjar told Mafkarat al-Islam that no tribal leaders nor any tribe or nor any part of any tribe had met in al Anbar with the person Abd as-Sattar Buzaigh al-Rishawi, who in fact does not exist as the name has been made up.ハ Unfortunately they took the name Buzaygh, that of the great grand father of the al-Bu Rishah tribe who are known for their faithfulness to God and the Mujahideen, and added an imaginary name to it so as to try to give it a semblance of reality.

Shaykh Khanjar said: We told the tribal leaders that it was necessary to prevent the correspondent of Reuters and the American New York Times from entering the province after those inventions that besmirch the history of our tribes, which refuse to submit to the rule of the occupation.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi noted that one of the tribes in the city had made a large white sign that responded to the false news report saying: All the Dulaym Tribes together are with the Resistance! Victory or Martyrdom! The sign remained standing in the al-Bu Ubayd area in the middle of ar-Ramadi for three hours until US troops on their rounds in the area passed by and tore it down.
