Resistance assault on US command post leaves six American Marines reported dead in ar-Ramadi Friday night.

In a dispatch posted at 7:26pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance men had attacked the as-Sufiyah command post of the US occupation troops north of ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance men armed with machine guns, pipe rockets, and mortars, assaulted the US Marine check point, killing six troops and then making off with their weapons. Two Resistance men died in the course of the operation and one man was wounded.

The correspondent reported that a US helicopter arrived in the area after the attack and fired two rockets at nearby groves, thinking that the Resistance men might be concealed in them. American troops on the ground then showed up and surrounded the whole area, where they remained at the time of reporting.

Al-Fallujah.

US troops reportedly find new pretexts for arresting residents of al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:10pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces had been employing a new method for arresting individuals they suspect of membership in the Iraqi Resistance. The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported relatives of victims abducted by the US troops under the new system ﾐ so far more than 30 people ﾐ that the Americans arrest anyone passing through their many checkpoints whom “they don’t like.”

In particular this means men with long beards or short clothes ﾐ the style of dress associated with “fundamentalist” Muslims. The witnesses said that the Americans “legitimize” such detentions by telling the victim to sit in the car while they search the vehicle and when they open the trunk the Americans plant a hand grenade or ammunition clip to a light or medium weapon and then haul the driver out of the car for questioning.

When the individual denies all knowledge of the object, the Americans beat the person extremely violently, then photograph him along with the “evidence.” The families of victims arrested in such a manner said that the Iraqi puppet soldiers are accustomed to this practice and have encouraged the American soldiers to follow their example.

Resistance fighters armed with rocket-propelled grenades ambush US column in al-Fallujah Friday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 3:17pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, Iraqi Resistance fighters armed with RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenades had attacked a column consisting of a US mine sweeper and three armored vehicles in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the attack, which took place near the al-Hadrah al-Muhammadiyah Mosque in al-Fallujah left two armored vehicles destroyed and all the US troops who were inside them dead. At the time of writing, American occupation troops had imposed a curfew and surrounded the area where the attack took place. They launched a search for the Resistance attackers who had withdrawn quickly after firing their deadly rockets at the American column.

Because the area where the attack occurred was sealed off, a precise account of the nature and extent of US casualties was impossible to make. The correspondent reported, however, that fire was still burning in two of the US vehicles that had taken rocket hits.Meanwhile, American troops disarmed a booby-trapped motorcycle in the market area of al-Fallujah on Friday morning after an automated device detected it.

Resistance attack targets Iraqi puppet troops in al-Fallujah Friday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:34pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by an Iraqi puppet army column in the al-Karmah area east of al-Fallujah at 10am local time Friday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a Resistance bomb went off in the al-Karmah market by a Nissan vehicle belonging to the Iraqi puppet army. The blast destroyed the vehicle and killed four Iraqi puppet troops. The attack and its toll of four dead Iraqi puppet soldiers were confirmed by Ahmad Husayn an-Nasi, a spokesman for the 4th Brigade of the Iraqi puppet army operating in the area. An-Nasi.

US responds with retaliatory attacks on al-Fallujah after the reported death of a US officer and three American soldiers on Tuesday, 31 October.

In a dispatch posted at 2:19pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that sources close to the US occupation forces disclosed that an American lieutenant had been killed in an Iraqi Resistance bombardment of the US camp known as al-Mazra‘ah (“the Farm”) on Tuesday, 31 October.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police in al-Fallujah who asked to remain anonymous said that a US officer who was Jewish had been killed along with four other American soldiers in the sudden mortar bombardment of the American base on Tuesday morning. The source said that the American officer, whose name he gave as James David was commander of a tank unit in al-Fallujah.

Following the mortar barrage, US forces carried out revenge attacks firing artillery shells into the city of al-Fallujah. Shells fell in the ash-Shuhahda’ and al-Jubayl neighborhood in the south of the city, killing or wounding 14 local civilian residents. In addition, on that same morning they killed four firemen, a traffic warden, and two college professors. The Americans also attacked a mosque in the city, killing or wounding nine worshipers in addition to inflicting heavy material damage on the building.

Three US troops reported killed in Resistance bombing in al-Fallujah Friday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 11:31am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces carried out two attacks on US occupation troops in al-Fallujah on Friday morning. The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a land mine that had been planted under vegetable stand in the an-Nazizah area of central al-Fallujah blew up by a US foot patrol at 8am local time Friday morning. The explosion left three US soldiers dead and a fourth wounded.

The witnesses said that Resistance men had asked local people to move away from the area and but to stand by so they could hear the explosion. They added that one of the Resistance men gave some money to a grocer whose stand was near the point of the explosion to compensate him for his losses. They said that they saw the bodies of three Americans sprawled on the ground covered in blood while a fourth was writhing on the ground. After the attack, US troops opened fire indiscriminately but intensively wounding five Iraqis, one of them severely, according to a hospital source in al-Fallujah.

Meanwhile a second Resistance bomb went off by a Humvee opposite the al-Hajj Sami al-‘Abd Flour Mill in the ash-Shuhada’ district of the city, killing one Iraqi puppet soldier and wounding three more, according to First Lieutenant Khalid ad-Dulaymi of the puppet forces. Two more people who were wounded in the explosion were later identified as workers at the flourmill.

Bodies of nine Iraqi puppet “Shock Troops” found shot to death in Tigris River Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:12pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Dr. Khalid al-Mashhadani of at-Tarimiyah General Hospital had announced that the bodies of nine puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” had been found floating in the Tigris river in that area.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported al-Mashhadani as telling a number of local journalists in the city that ambulances had picked up nine bodies floating in the Tigris River on Friday morning, all of them members in the puppet “Shock Troops.” Al-Mashhadani said that two of the bodies belonged to officers in the American-sponsored force. All had been shot in the head.

Tall ‘Afar.

US Marine reported killed by Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter in Tall ‘Afar.

In a dispatch posted at 12:02pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a US Marine in Tall ‘Afar, about 55km west of al-Mawsil in northern Iraq. The shooting occurred after US troops deployed in strength in various neighborhoods in the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a group of US Marines were standing by the al-Wuthbah School in Tall ‘Afar when one of them was struck in the head by a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly. The witnesses said that the Marine fell motionless to the earth.

The other Marines responded by shooting hysterically into the air and at the facades of nearby houses for 10 minutes. The then started mass raids and searches that lasted for an hour and a quarter but resulted in no arrests.
