Witnesses report 10 American Marines killed when Resistance fighters shoot down US Chinook helicopter near al-Hadithah, Sunday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 3:19pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that 10 US Marines were killed when Iraqi Resistance fighters shot down a US Chinook helicopter with a Strela anti-aircraft rocket near al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad late Sunday afternoon.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance fighters fired medium weapons and a Strela rocket at a US Chinook helicopter that had just taken off from the al-Hadithah Dam area in Barwanah near the city.
The eyewitnesses said that the helicopter crashed immediately and fire could be seen burning in the remains of the craft on the ground. US troops closed off the crash site immediately after the attack. Then about 15 minutes later, fierce fighting erupted between the Americans and Iraqi Resistance fighters. Although no information on casualties from that firefight were known. Local residents of Barwanah said confirmed that 10 US Marines who had been aboard the helicopter were killed when it crashed.
For its part the US military initially admitted that one Marine had died and three more were “missing” following the “forced landing” of a US helicopter over the lake behind the dam. A later report carried by the American Associated Press quoted the US military as saying that four Marines had died in a helicopter “crash.” In keeping with the standard American practice of secrecy, the US military said only that a “twin-rotor CH-46 helicopter from the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing” crashed near Lake al-Qadisiyah near al-Hadithah dam, but did not admit that the helicopter had been shot down, nor did they admit to the number of casualties reported by local eyewitnesses.

Residents of al-Fallujah vow to keep women off the roads after US troops resume practice of doing body searches of Iraqi women in al-Fallujah.
In a dispatch posted at 12:56pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops resumed searches of women in al-Fallujah on Sunday, a practice they had abandoned under intense pressure some time ago.
The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that US trops in all their checkpoints on the roads to and from the city had begun to search women for no stated reason. Local residents, angry and resentful over the practice, are now determined not to let women out for any reason even for hospital visits if they are to be subjected to searches.
Asked about why the searches were of such import, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported local people as saying that sometimes the Americans have let male troops carry out the body searches and that even when female troops do the searching, it is a deliberate act of humiliation.
The local residents pointed out that US troops gather in large numbers around the places where the searches of women are going on making residents of al-Fallujah unwilling to leave their women in the hands of the Americans, even American female soldiers, with so many of the male soldiers in the area ﾐ men, they say who, “display not even the most basic level of morality.”

In a dispatch posted at 12:04pm Makkah time midday Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US Marines carried out a campaign of raids and searches in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad on Sunday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that US troops and large numbers of military vehicles surrounded the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood in the middle of al-Fallujah not letting anyone in or out. The Americans ordered all local residents to remain inside their houses and then began searches of many homes and businesses in the neighborhood. In the end, however, the Americans found nothing and arrested no one in the sweep.
The Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia is run by Muqtada as-Sadr, a Shi‘i cleric loyal to Iran, which is seeking to extend its regional hegemony and step into the shoes of the American occupation in Iraq.

Resistance men gun down two members of entourage of US-installed puppet “Iraqi President” Jalal Talibani in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 8:27pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier Iraqi Resistance forces had shot and killed two men in the entourage of US-installed puppet “Iraqi President” Jalal Talibani in Baghdad’s al-Mansur district.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the attack took place near the embassy of the United Arab Emirates in al-Mansur. Two officers in the pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia were riding in a Toyota Landcruiser towards the famous as-Sa‘ah Restaurant when armed men wearing exercise clothing opened fire on their vehicle.
The witnesses said that the two Peshmergah gunmen died instantly. The Resistance men then pulled the bodies from the car, found their identity documents and placed those on the chests of the bodies in the middle of the street for public information.
The Resistance men then hurriedly left the area. US and Iraqi puppet forces surrounded whole the scene, where it was rumored that one of the dead men was a relative of puppet “President” Talibani’s wife.
Two US troops reported killed in Resistance ambush in Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 2:44pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a US military patrol in the middle of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a group of Resistance men armed with light and medium machine guns attacked a US patrol on as-Safarat Street in the middle of Baghdad, disabling a Humvee and killing two US troops and wounding a third.
The witnesses said hat in spite of the indiscriminate shooting that the Americans did in response to the attack, the Resistance men were able to slip away without losses after carrying out their ambush.
More than 15 pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian gunmen killed or wounded in Resistance barrage Monday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 12:22pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four 82mm mortar rounds into a headquarters of the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in the western Baghdad district of ash-Shu‘lah on Monday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that three of the shells landed inside the militia headquarters and the fourth landed in an abandoned building next door. More than 15 pro-Iranian sectarian gunmen were killed or wounded in the barrage, the source said.
Pro-American SCIRI member abducted in Baghdad at dawn Monday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:03pm Makkah time midday Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters abducted a member of the pro-American “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq” (SCIRI) in Baghdad.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the puppet security forces as saying that Iraqi Resistnce fighters abducted ‘Ali Salim al-Basri along with two of his bodyguards in the al-Yarmuk district oat 5am local time Monday morning.
Resistance bomb disables US Humvee in column in at-Taji Sunday evening.
In a dispatch posted at 2:02pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol near the northern Baghdad suburb of at-Taji on Sunday evening.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb went off by a column of US Humvees and armored vehicles near at-Taji. The blast disabled a Humvee, killing or wounding all the US troops aboard it.
Resistance fires Katyusha rocket into headquarters of Jaysh al-Mahdi in southwest Baghdad Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:46pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a Katyusha rocket into a pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in southwest Baghdad on Sunday.
The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the rocket scored a direct hit and produced a violent explosion that sent a plume of thick smoke rising into the sky over the facility.

Nine American troops reported killed in battles in locked-down city of as-Siniyah Sunday evening, Monday morning.
In a dispatch posted at 7:14pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that as the US blockade on the town of as-Siniyah finishes its third day, swarms of US helicopters filled the sky over the area and massive explosions rocked the American-encircled area.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of as-Siniyah as saying over the telephone that Resistance men had destroyed four US vehicles on Sunday and Monday morning and that it was said that nine American troops had been killed in those Resistance operations.
Residents of as-Siniyah said that the Americans had cut off running water and electricity and imposed a curfew in the city. They said that more than 200 local residents had been arrested so far, but that some of those had been released.
Puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” were participating in the sweep alongside the Americans and their behavior towards the local population was worse than that of the Americans, as-Siniyah residents reported, harsher and more hateful.
As-Siniyah is the site of small oil refineries not far from Bayji, about 200km north of Baghdad.

Seven civilians abducted at fake checkpoint in Ba‘qubah Sunday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 12:05pm Makkah time midday Monday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men set up a fake checkpoint on the main road linking Ba‘qubah with al-Miqdadiyah and abducted seven civilians.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported from Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad, that the local puppet police had said that an armed group abducted seven people after setting up a roadblock on the road to al-Miqdadiyah on Sunday afternoon.
The source said that all seven people were motorists who drove into the false checkpoint and were then taken to an unknown destination.

Battle erupts midday Monday as Shi‘i sectarian gunmen and puppet regime troops jointly attack Sunni village near al-Mahmudiyah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:02pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at the time of reporting a combined force of puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Scorpion Brigade” troops and pro-Iranian Shi ‘ sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen were raiding a village inhabited by members of he Sunni al-Gharir tribe near al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fighting had broken out between the tribesmen and the Shi‘i sectarian American-backed forces and was still going on at the time of reporting.
