Tony Blair Calls for New Media Censorship
By Anthony LoBaido

ARTICLE SYNOPSIS:

According to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, new media technology has turned the mass media into a "feral beast," which means new government controls are needed to protect the public from information.

Follow this link to the original source: "What news media don't need: Government's hand [1]"

COMMENTARY:

Tony Blair does have a valid point on one aspect of the major media. Just look at the Paris Hilton craze, the endless coverage over Anna Nicole Smith, and the relentless retailing of the latest sexual escapades and trysts of Skankliwood's most popular divas [2].

However, that's as far as our agreement goes. Blair's solution is a cure worse than the disease. It is both Orwellian and terrifying.

But, let's pretend for a moment that Blair is correct. If we are so inundated with information, and the media is so out of control, how come so many important things go unreported?

In a world awash in human-caused "global warming" news reported as fact, why don't we hear about the polar ice caps on Mars that are melting (there are no people there), or that the Sun's energy output is increasing, which is far and above the most likely cause for global warming on Earth? (After all, the Sun still heats our planet, doesn't it?)

How come we don't hear much, if anything, about the increasingly totalitarian nature of the emerging European Union, the EU's leaders leaving God out of its new Constitution, even as the continent's transnational elite set themselves up as modern-day commissars?

Why did we hear little to nothing about Steven Mosher being kicked out of his Ph.D. program at Stanford for gathering evidence of gendercide (killing of female babies) in mainland China [3]? Would that have gotten in the way of our leaders' efforts to turn China into the economic powerhouse that it is today, through aid, trade, transfers of jobs and technology, and most favored nation trade status?

Why didn't we hear about Bill Clinton altering U.S. trade policy [3], in exchange for campaign funds, to allow U.S. companies to sell mainland China sensitive nuclear, missile and satellite technology to better target our cities?

Why don't we know about the killing of the white farmers in Zimbabwe and South Africa? Or Nelson Mandela's part in the Church Street Bombing, or the ANC's Mbokodo torture camp in Angola?

Why is there, except for Lou Dobbs, a media blackout on the plan to push Canada, Mexico and the United States into a North American Union?

It is said we have a choice to live by faith or to live by fear. Clearly we can choose to believe in fairy tales and lies retailed by the media elites who resent these upstart competitors using modern technology, or we can choose the truths men like Tony Blair would gladly block from us, all in the name of their own personal agenda.

Power-hungry men like Tony Blair don't want the truth to compete in the marketplace of information and ideas. Instead, they want to exploit the corporate media's blatant rejection of worthwhile news in favor of the inane, the bawdy, and the outright propagandistic daily bombardment of the public with fear-mongering and junk science. This conveniently abets the governments of the nations in their efforts to clamp down enough controls so that those very elites will then have a monopoly over our ability to access accurate information.

Let all freedom loving people around the world work to keep our access to a free press on the Internet and elsewhere open and unimpeded in the marketplace of ideas.

Let the truth compete on its own merits. After all, that's what the globalist elites are really afraid of.
