ドイツ政府機関「連邦政治教育センター」主催で、来月「国家社会主義者の集中および絶滅収容所におけるガス室による絶滅」と銘打った国際会議が開かれるそうです。
ベルリン近郊のザクセンハウゼン(オラニエンブルグ)収容所博物館が会場になるそうですが、ここはいまだに「ガス室があった」と主張しているところです。当の「ガス室」はソ連軍が占領中に解体してしまって跡形も残っていませんが。

今日、「ホロコースト」の擁護者たちは混乱におちいっているが、そのことは奇妙な事態を生み出している。彼らは1970年末まで、ポーランドにあるアウシュヴィッツ、ビルケナウその他の収容所については、「ガス室」の実在の、したがって、ユダヤ人の「大虐殺」の「確固とした証拠」を持っていると信じていた。当時、彼らは、何らかの誇張があったこと、今日のポーランド以外の場所にある収容所にはガス室はなかったかもしれないことを認める姿勢をとるまでにいたっていた。ところが、1980年代初頭から、修正主義者の研究の圧力を受けて、ポーランド、とりわけアウシュヴィッツとビルケナウの「ガス室」の実在がますます疑わしいものとなってきた。このために、恐怖にもとづく反動が生み出された。宗教的ファンダメンタリズム、政治的ファンダメンタリズムでの動きと同じく、絶滅論者ももともとの信仰と教義への復帰を呼びかけるようになった。彼らは、放棄されたガス室を「ふたたび定説にしていった」。マウトハウゼン、ザクセンハウゼン、ラーフェンスブリュック、ノイエンガムメ、ストリューホフ・ナチヴァイラー、そしておそらくダッハウにも「ガス室」が存在したとふたたび主張するようになっていった。ここで念頭においているのは、リュッケルル、ラングバイン、コーゴンその他21名の筆者による『毒ガスによる民族社会主義者の大量殺戮』（Fischer Verlag, 1983）である。

Historical Significance - Technical Development - Revisionist Denial
Twenty-five years ago there was published the standard work "National Socialist Mass Murder with Poison Gas. A Documentation" - supported, besides other sponsors, also by the Federal Centre for Civic Education - , written by a group of German, French, Israeli, Dutch, Austrian and Polish experts, historians and jurists, camp survivors as Eugen Kogon and Hermann Langbein and by Adalbert Rückerl, senior prosecutor and then director of the Ludwigsburg 'Central Office for the Prosecution of National Socialist Crimes' (founded in 1958).
The conference aims to take stock of the current state of scientific research and to offer recent research findings for discussion, in particular concerning the gas chambers in the concentration camps in the 'Altreich'. The historical background and the technical and scientific prerequisites for the Nazi's use of poison gas for mass murder will be examined in collaboration with scientists of international repute. The developments that led from the murder of patients in the killing centres of 'Operation T4' to the mass murder in the gas chambers of extermination camps in eastern Europe and of concentration camps in the 'Altreich' will be considered chronologically and reciprocal influences will be figured out. One of the main objectives in doing so is to explore the relationship between technology, organization and politics.
Another central topic of the conference is the analysis of revisionist propaganda, which is increasingly turning its attention to the gas chambers in the concentration camps of the 'Deutsches Reich' and annexed Austria. For instance, the existence of the gas chamber in Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp has been cast into doubt in various fora. At Sachsenhausen the debate gains additional force by the dual history of the site, as a concentration camp and as a Soviet "special camp". There are similar attempts at denial concerning other concentration camps. The conference aims to cast light on the intentions and structures of revisionist campaigns in an international comparison and to develop counter-strategies.
