Resistance mortars blast US-Iraqi puppet army checkpoint in ‘Anah midday Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 4:35am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired three 82mm mortar shells into a checkpoint jointly manned by US troops and their Iraqi puppet army allies at about 1pm local time Tuesday evening.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the shelling heavily damaged the building at the checkpoint but they had no information about the nature or extent of possible casualties.

US troops on house raids in Hit kill local Imam shortly after midnight Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 5pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops had killed the Imam of a mosque in Hit and arrested three of his brothers.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the ad-Dawwarah area of the old city in eastern Hit as saying that the Ameicans carried out a raid and search of the area and its environs after midnight Tuesday morning looking for Resistance fighters.

The witnesses reported that the Americans used explosives during their raids, blowing open doors of houses. One such grenade killed Shaykh Jamil Khayri ‘Ubayd, 40, the Imam of the Abu at-Tayyib Mosque in the area. The witnesses said that the Americans then arrested three of the Shaykh’s brothers and led them off to their headquarters set up in the Hit railway station.

Indiscriminate US gunfire following bomb explosion in Hit leaves three Iraqi women reported dead Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:45pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood of Hit, about 165km northwest of Baghdad on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that after the blast, US forces opened fire indiscriminately around the area, immediately killing two Iraqi women. A third woman had a heart attack on the scene and died shortly afterwards, the witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam.

Al-Baghdadi.

Resistance bomb reportedly kills US soldier near al-Baghdadi.

In a dispatch posted at 12:16pm Makkah time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol near the city of al-Baghdadi, about 200km northwest of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb, which had been planted on the main road in the al-Muhammadi area near the city of al-Baghdadi exploded by a passing American patrol, destroying a Humvee and killing one US soldier. Two more American troops were injured in the attack, the witnesses reported.

Ar-Ramadi.

Eight US soldiers reported killed in powerful Resistance bomb attack in eastern ar-Ramadi midday Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:07pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column in eastern ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad, at midday Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of the road in the al-Bu Khalifah area near the as-Sufiyah crossing in eastern ar-Ramadi went off by a passing American column, completely destroying a US troop transport and killing eight American soldiers. The witnesses said that the explosion was extremely intense and that the bodies of the soldiers and parts of the vehicle were blown high into the air and ripped apart by the force of the blast.

US Marines arrest Reuters correspondent in ar-Ramadi.

In a dispatch posted at 4:59pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops arrested a Reuters correspondent in ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad on Tuesday.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a large number of US military vehicles surrounded the home of ‘Ammar ad-Dulaymi who works as a Reuters correspondent in the al-Bu ‘Alwan area to the west of ar-Ramadi. American Marines raided ad-Dulaymi’s home ransacking the journalist’s belongings.

The Marines arrested the correspondent and seized all his work-related materials, including his camera. They announced that they were taking the captive writer to their al-Warrar base located to the west of ar-Ramadi.

Al-Fallujah.

US Marines arrest more than 30 local people in raids on southern al-Fallujah Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:21pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces carried out mass raids, searches and arrests in the southern part of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, on Monday.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that large numbers of US Marines sealed off the entrances and exits to the an-Nu‘aymiyah area of southern al-Fallujah and then deployed and proceeded to raid houses there. They arrested more than 30 local residents. The source added that swarms of US helicopters prowled the skies over an-Nu‘aymiyah during the operation.

Heavy fighting in al-Fallujah Monday leaves local girl dead, two US troops reported wounded.

In a dispatch posted at 12:01pm Makkah time midday Tuesday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting raged between Iraqi Resistance forces and US troops in al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the ash-Shuhada’ neighborhood in southern al-Fallujah as saying that Resistance men armed with light and medium weapons ambushed a US patrol near the ash-Shamari Mosque in the neighborhood. The Resistance men fired a rocket-propelled grenade at a US Humvee, wounding two American soldiers and setting the vehicle ablaze.

US forces responded quickly and forcefully sparking a gun battle that lasted for more than 15 minutes but left no casualties among the Resistance men. A source in al-Fallujah General Hospital confirmed that that institution had received the body of a badly wounded 20-year-old girl who died upon admission to the hospital. She had been wounded when the American troops responded with heavy gunfire to the initial rocket-propelled grenade attack.

Wounded US soldier shoots self following Resistance bomb attack in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 7:34pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that following a deadly Iraqi Resistance bomb attack a wounded US soldier shot himself to death in south Baghdad’s ad-Dawanim area.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a powerful but home made Resistance bomb exploded by a column of seven US Humvees in ad-Dawanim at 7:45 local time, killing three American Marines and completely cutting the leg off of a fourth. That severe wound caused the soldier to scream an cry in pain and panic until he was able to draw his pistol, put it to his head, and fire, killing himself instantly.

In other Resistance attacks around Baghdad on Tuesday, nine Iraqi Resistnce bomb exploded by US targets in the district of al-Karakh alone and five more in ar-Rusafah. The Resistance fired seven Katyusha rockets and eight mortar rounds at targets in al-Karakh, and 32 mortar rounds and Grad rockets in ar-Rusafah. The Resistance carried out nine sharpshooter attacks, of which seven were successful. A total of 13 US troops and 74 puppet troops and Sectarian gunmen were killed in Baghdad.

Resistance bomb destroys US Humvee in al-Ghazaliyah.

In a dispatch posted at 8:35pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded and destroyed a US Humvee, killing all the US troops aboard in an attack that took place in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah district.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the bomb, which had been planted by the highway in al-Ghazaliyah, set fire to one American vehicle. US troops tried to extinguish the blaze in the vehicle in order to pull the troops out from inside. Meanwhile other US troops were firing wildly around the area.

Lighting Resistance attack disables two US Humvees in Baghdad’s al-Ghazaliyah Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 6:17pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters ambushed a US patrol in western Baghdad Tuesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the west Baghdad district o al-Ghazaliyah as saying that Iraqi Resistance men mounted a powerful but lightning quick attack on a column of several US military vehicles in their district Tuesday morning.

The witnesses reported that Resistance fighters armed with rockets and light and medium machine guns pounced suddenly upon the Americans in an attack that lasted no more than 10 minutes, in which the US troops were sprayed blasted with rockets and sprayed with machine gun fire. The witnesses said that two US Humvees were disabled in the Resistance ambush but they had no information regarding the nature or extent of casualties other than to surmise that they must have been significant given the intensity of the attack.

Resistance blasts Jaysh al-Mahdi headquarters in al-Ja‘arah with mortars.

In a dispatch posted at 6:39pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired two 82mm mortar rounds into the a headquarters of pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen in the al-Ja‘arah area of southern Baghdad, killing or wounding more than 10 of the militiamen.

Triple Resistance bombing targets Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen in southern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 6:26pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that three Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded by a group of pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen in Baghdad at midday Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that three Resistance bombs that had been planted near the ad-Darwish crossing, located between Baghdad’s al-Bayya‘ District, Baghdad al-Jadidah, and the southern suburb of ad-Durah, blew up one after an other by a group of Jaysh al-Mahdi sectarian gunmen. The explosions reportedly left numerous militiamen dead or wounded.

Thirteen bodies of Sunnis killed by pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian death squads found Tuesday morning. Red Crescent kidnap victims thought to be among the dead.

In a dispatch posted at 2:40pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Baghdad’s al-YarmukGeneral hospital had received a new batch of corpses of dead Sunnis kidnapped and murdered by pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian death squads on Monday. The bodies were found dumped in garbage heaps in the capital.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a medical source as saying that seven bodies of Sunnis who had been kidnapped and killed on Monday ミ and who are believed to have been employees of the Iraqi Red Crescent Society ミ were delivered to al-Yarmuk Hospital on Tuesday.

The source said that found were the bodies of a 39-year old Iraqi woman and her two children who had been murdered in their home in the az-Za‘faraniyah district of Baghdad, near the former nuclear power plant during an attack by the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia.

These latest discoveries bring the total number of Sunnis known to have been murdered by Shi‘i sectarian death squads on Monday and Tuesday morning to 13.

Pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen wearing puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troop” uniforms kidnapped some 30 people from the offices of the Red Crescent Society around midday on Sunday. The Red Crescent is the equivalent of the Red Cross in Islamic countries. Six of the abductees were released not long after the kidnapping, leaving 24 still in custody.

The Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia is run by Muqtada as-Sadr, a Shi‘i cleric loyal to Iran, which is seeking to extend its regional hegemony and step into the shoes of the American occupation in Iraq.

Anger rises in Baghdad as story spreads of US troops’ assault on two women.

In a dispatch posted at 2:25pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a story about an attack by US troops on two Baghdad women during a house search was causing outrage throughout the Iraqi capital as it circulated around the city on Tuesday.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported neighbors of the women who reported the attack said that US troops raided houses in the as-Sayyidiyah area on Monday-Tuesday night. After arresting a number of people in the area, the witnesses said, the Americans entered one house in which only the two women were present. The neighbors reported that five US troops gathered in a room in the house and began beating the women and then tore their clothing up completely.

The neighbors told Mafkarat al-Islam that the screams and cries for help from the women could be heard three streets away from the house.

Residents of Baghdad who heard the story were particularly outraged that the media, controlled by the US-installed “Government,” were not reporting anything about the incident.

Armed men wearing puppet “Shock Troop” uniforms steal salary money from Iraqi puppet regime ministry.

In a dispatch posted at 1:47pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that unknown armed men wearing puppet “Government” uniforms robbed a “ Ministry” in Baghdad of money for salaries for employees on Tuesday morning.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that armed men wearing puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” uniforms and driving “Interior Ministry” cars seized salaries for the puppet “Ministry of Industry” after officials of that “Ministry” had taken custody of the funds from the az-Zawiyyah Bank in Baghdad’s al-Karadah district.

The source said that the armed men stopped the car that was carrying the funds away from the bank near the Dr. ‘Abd al-Majid Hospital in al-Karadah. In all the armed men made away with 1.205 billion Iraqi Dinars (over US$700,000).

Resistance sharpshooter kills puppet policeman in Baghdad Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:52pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed one puppet policeman and wounded a second in Baghdad on Monday.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that an Iraqi Resistance sharpshooter perched atop a tall building near al-Wathbah Square in the middle of Baghdad shot and killed a puppet policeman who was with a patrol that had halted in the square. That puppet policeman died immediately. The sharpshooter fired off another round, wounding a second puppet policeman who was taken to hospital for treatment.

US agrees to partial lifting of 20-day old curfew and blockade on as-Siniyah.

In a dispatch posted at 4:58pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops agreed to partially lift the curfew they imposed 20 days ago on the refinery town of as-Siniyah, near Bayji, about 200km north of Baghdad. The relaxation of the curfew is to last only one week, however, the correspondent reported.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam wrote that a source in the Salah ad-Din provincial puppet government as saying that the US forces would open the eastern entrance to the city for one week only in accordance with a special trial system using identity cards until a new official security system that is supposed to be set up using local personnel.

Talks have been held between the US military commander in the town and tribal leaders about ending the blockade on the town, halting US air strikes, and releasing local people from US prisons in return for the return of the body of a US soldier killed recently in the city.

Samarra’.

Resistance bomb wounds US troops in Samarra’ Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 1:41pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol near Samarra’, about 120km north of Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb planted on the road to Samarra’ went off by a passing Ameican patrol, disabling a Humvee and wounding three US troops.

Resistance marksman kills puppet “Shock Troop” soldier near al-Hillah.

In a dispatch posted at 6:10pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed an Iraqi puppet “Interior Ministry Shock Troop (Maghawir)” soldier near al-Hillah, about 100km south of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a patrol of puppet “Shock Troops” ws driving along the International Highway near al-Hillah when one of the soldiers who was sitting in the back of a pickup took a direct hit from a Resistance sharpshooter’s bullet, killing him instantly. Another of the puppet “Shock Troops” was injured in the hand and taken to hospital for treatment.

Two US troops reported wounded in Resistance bombing in al-Mawsil Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 12:41pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol in eastern al-Mawsil on Tuesday morning.

The al-Mawsil correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a bomb that had been planted in the al-Manjaqa crossing in the ‘Adan neighborhood went off by a passing American patrol. The source could provide no further details on the attack, since US forces closed off the area immediately afterwards.

Local residents who witnessed the attack said, however, that the blast disabled an American Humvee, wounding two US troops.

Al-Basrah becomes war zone after dark.

In a dispatch posted at 12:21pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the southern Iraqi city of al-Basrah, long relatively peaceful compared to other parts of Iraq, reverberated to the sounds of warfare on Monday-Tuesday night as mortars and Katyusha rockets exploded intermittently during the hours of darkness. British helicopters were seen prowling the skies above the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that armed men attacked two British columns, one in the al-Muwaffaqiyah area and the other in the al-Ma‘qal area to the north of al-Basrah. Outside of the city, witnesses said, there were also attacks by unknown armed men on British troops during the night.

The rise in combat in the area has affected the situation inside the city, as there is now little traffic at night, when residents fear that fighting might break out at any time.
