Ar-Ramadi.

Demonstration in ar-Ramadi denounces “execution” of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

In a dispatch posted at 3:29pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a demonstration of over 600 people took to the streets of a district in ar-Ramadi, about 110km west of Baghdad, early on Sunday morning to denounce the “execution” of the martyred Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the as-Sufiyah area where the demonstration set out as saying that the marchers carried pictures of the Iraqi President and signs denouncing his “execution” and demanding vengeance against the puppet regime.

Al-Fallujah.

Demands rise to change name of Main Street in al-Fallujah to Martyr Saddam Street.

In a dispatch posted at 11:40pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that demands have grown in the city of al-Fallujah that the name of them main street in the city be changed to Martyr Saddam Street, in honor of the martyred Iraqi President assassinated on Saturday by the American-installed puppet regime in Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a group of al-Fallujah residents have circulated appeals calling for the name of the main street in the city to Martyr Saddam Street. The main street leads to the American-occupied as-Simak base, which is a frequent target of Iraqi Resistance attacks.

In fact, witnesses say, youths in the city have already spray painted the name change on walls in the Old Market area.

Meanwhile grief still prevails in the city following the killing of the Iraqi President in an “execution” show put on by the American-installed puppet government for an assembly of puppet officials and American embassy employees on Saturday. The assassination of the Iraqi President on the first day of the Islamic holiday of ‘Id al-Adha ミ the festival of sacrifice ミ has constituted an intentional insult to Arabs and Muslims, residents feel.

In a dispatch posted at 3:40pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces were still in control of the town of al-Karmah, near al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad on Sunday, after they drove American occupation troops out of the town in fierce fighting on Saturday following the announcement that the Iraqi President had been hanged by the US-installed puppet regime.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance on Saturday burnt down the puppet police station and blew up the headquarters of the American occupation forces ミ which they had set up in what previously was the Department of Personal Affairs ミ thereby taking control of the town.

Then during the night of Saturday-Sunday, the Resistance bombarded a camp near the storage areas outside the town, where Americans were still holed up. That sparked a two-hour battle with light and medium weapons. On Sunday morning the town was still in the hands of the Iraqi Resistance.

Resistance bombards US base in al-Fallujah Saturday night.

In a dispatch posted at 2:46pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four mortar rounds into the US as-Simak military base in the middle of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, late on Saturday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet policeman who asked to remain anonymous as saying that the barrage set off explosions that could be heard a distance away and sent clouds of smoke rising into the sky.

Resistance pounds US headquarters in as-Saqlawiyah with heavy mortars early Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:17pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired four heavy 120mm mortar rounds into the US military headquarters in as-Saqlawiyah, about 15km northwest of al-Fallujah at 7:30am local time Sunday morning.

The as-Saqlawiyah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the US headquarters opposite the Technical Institute in the city setting off explosios that could be felt throughout the town, and sending plumes of smoke and dust billowing into the sky.

US-backed puppet troops abduct 30 in savage raids and searches west of al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 2:08pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet troops backed up by American occupation forces conducted mass searches and arrests west of al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, arresting 30 local residents.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the American-run puppet troops with direct US support carried out the raids in the area near al-Habbaniyah, savagely storming into houses, smashing furniture, and insulting and abusing residents.

Al-Habbaniyah.

US, Iraqi puppet troops arrest more than 20 in raids in al-Habbaniyah Saturday night.

In a dispatch posted at 3:01pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops and their Iraqi puppet army allies arrested more than 20 local residents of the al-Habbaniyah area, about 90km west of Baghdad on Saturday, the first day of the ‘Id al-Adha holiday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the C. C. area as saying that the 20 people were abducted “for no clear reason or justification” on Saturday night.

Resistance rocket attack kills pro-American Shi‘i sectarian office director.

In a dispatch posted at 8:05pm Makkah time Sunday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces unleashed a rocket attack on a headquarters of the pro-American Shi‘i sectarian Badr Brigades in the al-Jadiriyah district of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Tha’ir al-Hasani was among the nine pro-American Shi‘i sectarians killed in the barrage. Al-Hasani was the director of the Baghdad office of ‘Abd al-‘Aziz al-Hakim, the chief of the pro-American “Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI), the armed wing of which are the Badr Brigades.

The correspondent reported puppet security sources as saying that the Resistance rockets blasted the sectarian headquarters as they were celebrating the assassination of Iraqi President Saddam Husayn. Al-Hasani and eight Badr Brigade gunmen were killed in the attack. The sources said that the dead and wounded sectarians were taken to Ibn Sina Hospital which is controlled by the US occupation and is located in the top security area around the Republican Palace ミ the area dubbed the “Green Zone” by the Americans.

Body of martyred Iraqi President laid to rest in family plot in al-‘Awjah, near Tikrit, at 4am local time Sunday amidst massive crowds of mourners.

In a dispatch posted at 9:37am Makkah time Sunday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that ‘Ali an-Nida, the Shaykh of the al-Bu Nasir tribe to which the martyred Iraqi President Saddam Husayn belonged, announced that the body of the President was laid to rest before down on Sunday in the village of al-‘Awjah, his home town near Tikrit, about 180km north of Baghdad.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported an-Nida as saying that the burial took place in a family plot less than 24 hours after his assassination in a so-called “execution” by the American-installed Iraqi puppet regime in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 3pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shaykh Mahmud al-Hasan, one of the shaykhs of the al-Bu Nasir tribe, to which martyred Iraqi president Saddam Husayn belonged, said that the body of the Iraqi President was kicked and beaten after his death by the puppet regime officials and their guests who attended the “execution” in Baghdad on Saturday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in an exclusive interview in Tikrit following the funeral of the martyred President, al-Hasan said that the body had been received by the leader of the tribe ‘Ali an-Nida and Muhammad al-Qaysi the puppet “Governor” of Salah ad-Din Province in the presence of ‘Abd al-Karim al-‘Anazi, a member of the Shi‘i Alliance political coalition and a national security adviser to the puppet regime.

Al-Hasan said that the marks of kicks could be seen on the left cheek of the body of the Iraqi President, believed to be from a kick by one of those attending the “execution” show.

Al-Hasan said that the body of the Iraqi President was laid to rest at 4am local time Sunday morning at a funeral attended by masses of local people ミ all of them supervised, surrounded and cordoned off by American occupation troops.

A condolence reception has been set up in the town of al-‘Awjah near Tikrit. Groups of mourners from various Iraqi provinces have been coming there to offer their last respects.

In a dispatch posted at 7:10pm Makkah time Sunday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US occupation troops and their Iraqi puppet army allies forced the al-Bu Nasir tribe to bury the body of martyred President Saddam Husayn under cover of darkness before the first light of dawn Sunday.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported al-Jazeera.net as saying that numerous members of the tribe had told them that the American occupation forces and their Iraqi puppet allies brought the body of the President to the village of al-‘Awjah near Tikrit at about 3am local time. They demanded at gunpoint that the al-Bu Nasir bury him immediately. Family members feared that the Americans might carry out a threat that had been made that the body could be handed over to the puppet regime of Shi‘i sectarian Nuri al-Maliki to be disposed of.

The Americans also imposed their control over the whole village, closing its entrances and exits during the funeral, which was attended by several hundred people.

The sons and grandson of the Iraqi President ミ ‘Uday and Qusay Saddam Husayn and Mustafa who were all killed in a gun battle with the Americans in ar-Ramadi in 2003 are also buried in the plot.

Diyala Province.

Balad Ruz.

US-backed puppet forces carry out savage raids, mass arrests in Balad Ruz, Buhriz on Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:54pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet army troops backed up by US occupation soldiers carried out a campaign of raids and arrests in the Balad Ruz area, about 40km east of the provincial capital Ba‘qubah (which is 65km northeast of Baghdad), on Saturday, which was supposed to be the first day of the ‘Id al-Adha holidays.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the puppet troops led by their Fifth division stormed savagely into the areas of Balad Ruz and Buhriz, near Ba‘qubah, attacking local people and arresting the men ミ blindfolding them and putting bags on their heads and leading them away to unknown destinations. The correspondent reported that the puppet army’s Fifth Division always carries out its arrests on a sectarian basis ミ abducting only individuals whose ID cards indicate that they are Sunni.

At-Ta’mim Province.

Al-Hawijah.

Resistance fighters raid puppet army checkpoint, kill three puppet troops Sunday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 4:46pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked a checkpoint manned by Iraqi puppet army troops in al-Hawijah, near Kirkuk, on Sunday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source who asked to remain anonymous as saying that the Resistance men opened fire with machine guns, killing three puppet troops and wounding two more of them, one of those severely. The two wounded men were taken to al-Hawijah hospital for treatment.
