Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.

Americans seize, lock down city of ar-Ramadi, shoot dead 32 civilians including nine pregnant women in 24 hours. Women appeal to tribes in al-Fallujah to break deadly US siege.

In a dispatch posted at 9:19pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that in the previous 24 hours the US troops in ar-Ramadi had killed 32 civilians after beginning to shoot at anything that moves in the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops seized control of government buildings and private houses that overlook the main streets in the city. The Americans also took over the al-Mustafa Hospital after throwing the sick and injured patients and the doctors and staff out into the street.

Persons wounded in the latest American rampages have no way to get medical care, since anyone who so much as opens his door and steps into the street is shot at by US snipers atop tall buildings or by American tanks.

As a result of the US troops’ shooting, nine pregnant women were killed and four more wounded as of the time of reporting, due to lack of access to medical care.

The correspondent reported that US forces have closed all the roads in the city and have destroyed the fuel station and the water purification plants in order to deprive the city residents of fuel and potable water.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in ar-Ramadi reported that the women of ar-Ramadi have cut off their plaits, in keeping with ancient tribal custom in the area, and sent them, with difficulty, out to the tribes in the al-Fallujah area, in an effort to arouse alarm and get them to come and break the deadly blockade imposed by the Americans.

US troops in ar-Ramadi mow down men lined up for gasoline, killing four Wednesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:39pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters opened fire on a fixed US patrol stationed in the al-Andalus neighborhood of ar-Ramadi on Wednesday morning.

The ar-Ramadi correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local eyewitnesses as saying that the Americans responded to the incoming gunfire by training their guns at a group of men standing in line at a fuel station near their position and opening fire. The witnesses said the Americans mowed down a number of the men, killing four of them and wounding others who were later taken to hospital for treatment. The correspondent noted that the gunfire that targeted the American position did not come from the direction of the gas station, but the US troops chose easy targets on whom to vent their hatred.

Resistance blasts US al-Warrar base with Grad rockets Wednesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 2:21pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired five Grad rockets into the US al-Warrar base west of ar-Ramadi, which is located about 110km west of Baghdad, on Wednesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the barrage set off thunderous explosions that shook the area and sent smoke rising into the sky. US helicopters then flew in at low altitude over the base, indicating that there were casualties that had to be evacuated.

Al-Hadithah.

US massacre of 16 fishermen in al-Hadithah reported.

In a dispatch posted at 2:17pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops shot and killed 16 Iraqi fishermen in the vicinity of the city of al-Hadithah, 236km northwest of Baghdad on Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who live in the as-Subhani area as saying that US troops rounded up 16 fishermen from the al-Hadithah Lake, bound their feet and then executed them by shooting without any prior warning or explanation of what “crime” they had supposedly committed.

The wife of one of the fishermen discovered the massacre when she went out to bring lunch to her husband and found the blood-covered bodies of the 16 men.

Al-Hadithah was also the scene of a now infamous massacre carried out by US Marines who killed some 24 local villagers on 19 November 2005.

Ar-Rutbah.

Resistance car bomb blasts US column in ar-Rutbah Wednesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 4:55pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by a US military column in the middle of ar-Rutbah near the Iraqi-Jordanian border.

The ar-Rutbah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that an explosives-packed car blew up by the American column as it drove past the city youth center. The witnesses said that one Humvee was totally destroyed in the explosion, killing or wounding all aboard. US forces closed off the entire area, making a count of the casualties impossible.

US troops storm into ar-Rutbah at dawn seizing public buildings, killing nine civilians.

In a dispatch posted at 2:36pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces in various military vehicles and under aircover from helicopters stormed the town of ar-Rutbah in western Iraq near the Jordanian border at dawn on Wednesday.

The ar-Rutbah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces bombarded the town with heavy artillery at dawn and then swept in under cover from helicopter gunships.

Witnesses reported that US troops seized the School of the Islamic Belief in the city and the provincial government building, the recreation area, and the hospital and turned them all into American command posts. Clashes took place here and there within the city, leaving nine local civilians dead, four of those children.

Al-Fallujah.

US, puppet Iraqi forces arrest 15 youths in al-Karmah at dawn Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 1:51pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US troops and their puppet Iraqi army allies carried out another campaign of raids and arrests in the town of al-Karmah, about 7km east of al-Fallujah at dawn on Wednesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the al-Hasiwayt area as saying that a very large mechanized force of puppet Iraqi forces backed by US troops under intense air cover from helicopters raided several houses and arrested 15 youths in al-Karmah, accusing them of being responsible for the attacks that targeted US and puppet Iraqi troops last week.

Fierce fighting rages in several al-Fallujah districts Tuesday night.

In a dispatch posted at 2:14pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that violent fighting raged in several areas of al-Fallujah on Tuesday night, the first time that clashes have occurred in various places at once.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce battles raged in the Nuwwab ad-Dubbat neighborhood late Tuesday night between Iraqi Resistance men and US troops and their puppet Iraqi army allies. Combat also occurred in the ad-Dubbat neighborhood and on ath-Tharthar Street. Intense gunfire and the sound of explosions resounded throughout those areas. The curfew in force in the city made it impossible to obtain further details on the casualties or losses inflicted during the battles.

Resistance sharpshooter kills puppet Iraqi army soldier at checkpoint Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 2:03pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance marksman shot and killed a puppet Iraqi army soldier at a command post controlling the eastern entrance to the city of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad late Tuesday afternoon.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a motorist who was in the long line of cars backed up at the checkpoint as saying that for four days the checkpoints at the approaches to al-Fallujah have tightened their restrictions and long queues of cars back up. He was in one such line of stationary cars when he observed one of the Iraqi puppet troops suddenly fall to the ground, struck in the head by a bullet from somewhere.

The witness said that the puppet Iraqi army soldiers responded to the sharpshooter attack by killing one of the motorists waiting in his BMW car at the checkpoint.

Baghdad.

Heavy fighting rages on Hayfa Street and in the al-Fadl district of Baghdad Wednesday morning. Two US troops, 30 local civilians reported killed. Muslim Scholars denounce “genocidal campaign” by US in the Baghdad district.

In a dispatch posted at 3:10pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting raged between Iraqi Resistance fighters and US troops accompanied by their puppet Iraqi army allies in the areas of Hayfa Street and the al-Fadl neighborhood of central Baghdad on Wednesday morning.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses on Hayfa Street and in the al-Fadl neighborhood as saying that US and puppet Iraqi army forces attempted to penetrate into the two areas early Wednesday morning, but Resistance men intercepted them and held them back.

The witnesses reported that the Resistance men fired rockets and light and medium machine guns and lobbed hand grenades at the attacking Americans and their allies. Some witnesses also said they heard the sound of mortar shells landing among the attacker forces.

The ferocious resistance put up by the defenders of Hayfa Street and the al-Fadl neighborhood forced the US and puppet Iraqi army attackers to call in helicopter gun ships in order to press their attack, Mafkarat al-Islam reported.

The Egyptian-based Islamic News Agency reported that in the course of the Wednesday assault by US and puppet Iraqi army forces on Hayfa Street and al-Fadl, a total of 30 civilians were killed and 27 others arrested, including three Egyptians and a Sudanese. The INA reported that two US troops were killed in the fighting in which three US helicopter gun ships took part.

In an earlier dispatch Wednesday, the INA reported that US forces had sealed off the area around Hayfa Street and al-Fadl, preventing journalists from getting into the area. INA reported eyewitnesses as telling al-Jazeera satellite news agency by telephone that “US warplanes are bombing civilians and local residents of Hayfa Street who have risen to defend themselves or have taken cover in defensive positions.”

The witnesses reported that “bodies are strewn about the streets. No one can evacuate them particularly after the occupation forces banned ambulances from getting into the area where the Americans are carrying out their offensive. This has driven the local residents to flee their homes.”

The witnesses told al-Jazeera, as monitored by the INA, “the women and children cannot get out into the streets to find food or other supplies,” noting that the American “occupation army has cut off water and electricity from the area and shut down the shops in the street.”

A very severe blockade has been imposed on the neighborhood. The witnesses told al-Jazeera, as related by the INA, that the Americans “banned individuals and cars from entering or leaving, paralyzing life in the area which has grown more difficult due to the lack of food and water and the shortage of fuel.”

The INA reported that the aim of the US occupation forces is to clear the Hayfa Street area and the al-Fadl district of all men, whether by killing them or arresting them, producing an extremely grave situation in the area.

In a dispatch posted at 12:53GMT Wednesday Quds Press reported that the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq had issued a statement on Wednesday declaring that the residents of Hayfa Street and the districts of ash-Shaykh ‘Ali, al-Mushahadah, and al-Fahhamah are currently the victims of a campaign of genocide and obliteration being carried out by US and puppet Iraqi forces.

Quds Press quoted the AMSI statement as saying that the US and Iraqi puppet forces “after midnight last night launched a savage assault on these areas using all the weapons they had, killing and wounding people and destroying houses over the heads of their occupants, turning their nights and days into an unbearable hell, as if they were in a war between vast armies.”

The Association of Muslim Scholars stated that the attack on Hayfa Street was a clear indication of the nature of the so-called “New Security Plan” and strategy that US President George Bush plans to implement in Iraq.

The Association called on all international humanitarian agencies and the media to move to end this campaign of genocide and obliteration.

US and puppet Iraqi military forces on Wednesday under heavy air cover from helicopters continued for a second day their military assault on the Hayfa Street and al-Fadl areas of Baghdad, Quds Press noted.

At least five US troops reported killed in bomb attacks in Baghdad Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:32pm Makkah time Wednesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car into a joint patrol of US and puppet Iraqi policemen in the Baghdad district of al-‘Amiriyah at 9:30am local time Wednesday morning. The explosion disabled one American vehicle, killed four puppet policemen and wounded three American troops, witnesses said.

About 15 minutes after the car bombing, an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US Marine column on al-‘Asl Street in al-‘Amiriyah. That blast killed one Marine, witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb also went off by a US patrol in Baghdad’s al-Yarmuk district. The explosion killed one US soldier and wounded three more of them. One of the wounded men had his leg blown off, according to witnesses who were standing near the Mosque of Ibn Taymiyah at the time.

Four Iraqi Resistance bombs exploded in the southern Baghdad suburb of ad-Durah on Wednesday, all targeted on US patrols, Mafkarat al-Islam reported. One of those bombs missed its mark, killing a man and wounding two more. The other three explosive devices, however, exploded by their intended American targets. Witnesses said that one of the bombs destroyed a US military vehicle on Abu at-Tayyarah Street.

A large land mine exploded under a US foot patrol in the ‘Arab Jabbur area of Baghdad. Local witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the blast killed three US troops and wounded two more of them. Nuri al-Maliki regime helped prominent Jaysh al-Mahdi leaders flee to Iran, avoiding US capture.

In a dispatch posted at 3:26pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that informed Iraqi sources had indicated that the regime of puppet “Prime Minister” Nuri al-Maliki had helped a number of prominent leaders in the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian militia to escape from Iraq.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that sources told Quds Press that 12 members of the Jaysh al-Mahdi were given passports under false names so that they could slip across the border undetected.

The sources said that the al-Maliki regime was eager for the Jaysh al-Mahdi leaders to escape abroad quickly after it was reported that the main spokesman for the Jaysh al-Mahdi, ‘Abd al-Hadi ad-Darraji, who was arrested by the Americans about a week ago, had made admissions that might lead to the arrest of more leaders of the pro-Iranian organization ミ something that the US-backed “Prime Minister” Nuri al-Maliki is eager to avoid at the present time.

For more than four days, the sources said, major leaders in the Muqtada as-Sadr movement and its armed wing the Jaysh al-Mahdi have been out of the country, most of them in Iran.

The regional hegemonic regime in Iran is seeking to secure its hold in Iraq by using Shi‘i sectarian leaders and organizations in the country. It hopes to step into the shoes of the American occupation authorities whose grip on the country has been weakened by three years of increasingly severe Resistance attacks. Although the US has made extensive use of pro-Iranian sectarian groups and individuals in taking control of Iraq, if now finds itself increasingly competing with Tehran for control of the country. To forestall Iran’s attempt to replace America as colonial power in Iraq, the Iraqi Resistance continues its battle against pro-Iranian as well as US and pro-US groups and facilities.
