The explosive devices went off simultaneously under an Abrams tank as it passed over them, causing the tank to explode in flame, and killing one American soldier. Six other troops were extracted from the burning machine, all of them suffering from wounds of varying degrees of severity.

One of the wounded men was seen being pulled out of the tank with difficulty. Blood was flowing from his nose, ears, and mouth.

The correspondent reported that the Americans called in Iraqi fire fighters to put out the flames in the burning tank, but the firemen were still refusing to respond as of the time of reporting, because the Iraqi Resistance had ordered the fire departments not to carry out any orders from the occupation forces.

Al-Hadithah.

Sixteen civilians die due to US blockade of al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 11:33am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the al-Hadithah city hospital had issued a medical report indicating that 16 people have died as a result of the on-going American blockade on the city.

In a dispatch posted at 11:09am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces mounted a violent assault on a puppet Iraqi army camp in western al-Fallujah, about 60km west of Baghdad, on Thursday evening.

The al-Fallujah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that Resistance fighters armed with rockets and light and medium machine guns attacked a camp set up by the puppet army around a group of houses that they seized from local residents near the al-Fallujah Flour Mill. A large explosion was heard in the area during the battle, which lasted about half an hour.

Local witnesses believed that a large number of the puppet troops had been killed or wounded in the fight because for a long time after the battle ended, vehicles could be heard, driving back and forth from the area, apparently evacuating casualties.

Baghdad.

Resistance organization “Brigades of the 1920 Revolution” denies and denounces report in The Independent that they had accepted terms for negotiations with the US occupiers: “our choice is armed struggle and armed struggle alone until the occupation is expelled.”

In a dispatch posted at 11:04pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi Resistance organization, the Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, had categorically denied claims that appeared in the western media that their organization had agreed to negotiate with the occupation forces, affirming that they were continuing on the course of jihad against the occupation.

Shaykh Abu Anmar az-Zawbi‘i, one of the top commanders of the 1920 Revolution Brigades, told Mafkarat al-Islam that “the report has no truth in it and is a cheap lie that no reasonable person could believe.”

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shaykh Abu Anmar said that the men in the 1920 Revolution Brigades were surprised at the false report about them. He said that the 1920 Brigades never had broken ranks and never would break ranks with the rest of the militant Resistance organizations fighting and waging jihad against the occupation and its collaborators.

The commander in the Brigades of the 1920 Revolution gave this statement to Mafkarat al-Islam:

“In the name of God, the Merciful, the Mercy-giving.
“‘If a sinner bring you news, verify it.’” [Qur’an 49:6].
“I would like use Mafkarat al-Islam to deny the report that appeared in the Crusader newspaper known as ‘the Independent’ claiming that the Brigades had agreed to conditions for negotiating with the American occupier. We declare that our choice is for armed struggle and armed struggle alone until the exhausted, routed occupier is expelled by the blows of the mujahideen and the heroes of the Resistance.”

The spokesman went on to say that the Muslims “have experienced the negotiations carried on by the brothers in Palestine and what those negotiations brought them and how the Jewish enemy violated them. Therefore there will be no negotiations and no language with the occupier other than the language of weapons.”

The commander said that this was not merely his personal statement, “rather it is the statement of all the fighting brothers in the triumphant Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, by God’s leave,” noting that what appeared in the paper “cannot be believed by any rational Muslim, since the upright divine law has taught us to seek rulings from the Muslims, not from the United Nations, which was formed by the worshippers of the cross, nor from the rest of the organizations that were formed in harmony with the aspirations of the enemy in our Islamic lands. Whoever breaks from the divine law has nothing to do with Islam.”

Shaykh Abu Anmar concluded his statement saying that official communique´s are issued only on the website of the Brigades of the 1920 Revolution on the Internet and that “all other things are lies and attempts to split the ranks of the Iraqi Resistance and the Mujahideen.”

Five US troops reported killed in Resistance operations in Baghdad Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40pm Makkah time Friday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that five US troops had been killed and six more injured in Resistance attacks in four different districts of Baghdad, and that 11 puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir),” three puppet army soldiers, and 16 Shi‘i sectarian gunmen also perished at the hands of the Resistance on Friday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb that had been planted inside a small cigarette kiosk exploded by a US patrol in al-‘Amiriyah at 8:30am local time Friday morning. The blast killed one American and wounded three more of them. Witnesses outside a fast-food restaurant on al-Mudif Street said that the explosion blew the soldier who was standing atop the Humvee several meters through the air.

A second Iraqi Resistance bomb went off by a US column in the ‘Arab Jabbur area of southern Baghdad at 10am local time, an hour before the Friday curfew went into effect. The explosion killed three US troops and wounded one, according to a source in the al-Muthanna Brigade of the puppet Iraqi army.

An Iraqi Resistance bomb blew up by US troops in front of the Ibrahim al-Khalil Mosque at 10:30am local time, killing one American and wounding four more. Afterwards US troops carried out a campaign of raids and arrests, picking up four people who had been in the mosque at the time of the attack − all guards and caretakers of the place of worship.

A violent blast shook the US base in az-Za‘faraniyah, sending two plumes of thick black smoke rising into the sky. The reason for the explosion was unclear, as local residents did not see any rockets or mortar shells hitting the American-occupied facility.

The Bush − al-Maliki Offensive against Baghdad continued for its second day as American and puppet Iraqi troops stopped many worshippers on their way to mosques, checking their IDs and verifying their identities. Seven local people were arrested in various parts of the city.

The American blockade continues in force on the districts of al-A‘zamiyah, al-Ghazaliyah, and Hayfa Street. Anyone going in or out of those districts is searched

US occupation forces issue arrest order for Mish‘an al-Jabburi, owner of az-Zawra’ satellite TV station.

In a dispatch posted at 4:59pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation forces had issued an order to arrest Mish‘an al-Jabburi, the owner or the az-Zawra’ satellite TV station that broadcasts videos showing operations carried out by the Iraqi Resistance as they attack US and puppet Iraqi forces.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that American troops raided houses belonging to al-Jabburi’s sisters, cousins, and other relatives in various districts of northern Baghdad. The correspondent reported that the Americans also raided the headquarters of the “Reconciliation and Liberation Party” in al-Huwayjah, a party that al-Jabburi started after the US occupation of Iraq.

The Americans were reportedly looking for the place where from which az-Zawra’ broadcasts its programs, featuring Resistance videos, that are carried by the Egyptian-based NileSat, which is out of reach of the American occupation and its puppet regime. US forces also raided the home of ‘Atiyah Hadir al-Jabburi, the district chairman of the party.

Informed Iraqi sources told Mafkarat al-Islam that the American occupation issued an order to Interpol to investigate al-Jabburi and arrest him on charges of “encouraging ‘terrorism’ and attacks on US occupation forces.”

Mish‘an al-Jabburi is also known for his heated debate with an Iranian posing as an Iraqi on al-Jazeera TV’s “al-Ittijah al-Mu‘akis” [“Opposite Viewpoint”] program on 2 January 2007. On the show, al-Jabburi fiercely defended the martyred Iraqi President Saddam Husayn and exposed his pro-American interlocutor, Sadiq al-Musawi, as really being an Iranian by the name of Tariq Hashim Matar, who applied for Iraqi citizenship only in May 2004 under the shadow of the US occupation.

Video clips from the vicious debate, in which al-Jabburi exposed and humiliated the spokesman of the pro-American regime, in an encounter so heated it verged on physical assault, have gained widespread popularity in the Arab world and beyond.

Resistance ‘welcomes’ new US commander with rocket attack on “Green Zone” early Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:24pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired a barrage of rockets into the top security area that the Americans call the “Green Zone” around the Republican Palace in downtown Baghdad, by way of “greeting” to the new US military commander General David Petraeus, who arrived in Iraq on Thursday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two rockets blasted into the northern and northeastern parts of the “Green Zone” at 6am local time Friday morning. The correspondent reported that clouds of smoke could be seen rising from the area as sirens wailed inside the “Zone.”

Employees who work inside the “Zone” told Mafkarat al-Islam that four ambulances raced immediately to the area where the rockets landed and then minutes later headed off towards the Ibn Sina hospital, which is also located within the “Green Zone.” No information on the nature, nationality, or extent of casualties was available.

Resistance blasts puppet “National Guard” checkpoint with heavy mortars.

In a dispatch posted at 11:29am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired three heavy 120mm mortar rounds into a puppet “Iraqi National Guard” checkpoint in western Baghdad on Friday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses by the highay in al-Ghazaliyah as saying that the barrage on the checkpoint located on the highway bridge near the al-Ghazaliyah area checkpoint set off powerful explosions. Puppet forces cordoned off the area too quickly for any information on the nature or extent of casualties to become available.

Resistance fighters gun down Jaysh al-Mahdi commander in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:34am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters shot and killed a leading member of the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia in western Baghdad on Friday morning.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Washshash district of western Baghdad as saying that the Resistance ambushed a car carrying a prominent Jaysh al-Mahdi commander. The Resistance men unleashed an intense barrage of machine gun fire onto the commander’s car, killing him instantly. Witnesses said that the Resistance fighters seized two weapons from the commander’s car before withdrawing from the scene.

At-Ta’mim Province.
Kirkuk.

In a dispatch posted at 10:59am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mysterious bomb exploded by the car of an official in the Iraqi Turkoman Movement in southern Kirkuk.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that a bomb that had been planted on the main road in southern Kirkuk went off by the car in which Yunus Bayarqdar, the First Secretary of the Iraqi Turkoman Movement, was riding. The source said that the blast damaged Bayraqdar’s car. Bayraqdar himself received moderate wounds and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Like the Sunni Arabs, the largest population group in Kirkuk, the Turkoman population in that city are opposed to efforts by Kurdish separatists to annex Kirkuk and incorporate it into the predominantly Kurdish separatist zone in northern Iraq.

Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.

In apparent mistake, US aircraft rocket pro-American Kurdish separatist base in al-Mawsil.

In a dispatch posted at 2:43pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US aircraft struck a camp of the pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah guerrillas in the northern Iraqi city of al-Mawsil, killing or wounding several of them.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the Iraqi puppet police as saying hat a Kurdish source in al-Mawsil had disclosed that US aircraft rockteted the guard camp belonging to the pro-American Peshmergah militia in the ‘Adan neighborhood of al-Mawsil at about 1:15am Friday morning. The attack killed eight Kurdish separatist militiamen and wounded six more, the source said. All the casualties were quickly taken off to the northern, largely Kurdish, part of Iraq.
