Al-Anbar Province.
‘Anah.

US soldier reported killed in Resistance bombing in ‘Anah Friday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 3:24pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a passing US patrol in the middle of ‘Anah, 300km northwest of Baghdad on Friday.

The ‘Anah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the side of a road near the ‘Anah Secondary School went off by a US foot patrol Friday evening. The witnesses said that the explosion killed one US soldier and wounded two more. American vehicles then rushed to close off the area and evacuated the casualties to a US base near the city.

Hit.

US warplane reduces family of six to “pile of cooked flesh” in Hit at dawn Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:31pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US aircraft killed an Iraqi family of six in an air raid on a home west of Hit at dawn on Saturday.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam met with the stricken family’s neighbors, five of whom had also been wounded − three of those severely − in the American attack, despite the fact that they live some 200 meters from the targeted house.

The neighbors told Mafkarat al-Islam that the US plane fired a rocket at the home at 5am Saturday, after the Iraqi Resistance had fired four mortar shells at the US base not far from the house. The neighbors said that the American rocket totally demolished the home. Shaykh Ahmad al-Hitawi who supervised the funeral of the six martyrs − Ibrahim al-Jabawi, his 70-year-old mother, his wife, and their three children − said that the power of the rocket explosion reduced the family to nothing but a pile of cooked flesh.

New, local puppet police force announced for Hit.

In a dispatch posted at 3:11pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Iraqi puppet police in Hit put up a large number of posters on Saturday, announcing the formation of a new puppet security force to be called the “Hit Emergency Battalion.

The Hit correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that puppet police patrols were putting up the posters calling for volunteers starting today, Saturday, and asserting that their job would be that of “protecting the citizens of Hit,” but “for security reasons,” the placards gave no indication where would-be recruits were supposed to volunteer.

The posters announced that the new force would be made up exclusively of residents of Hit, in an effort to draw local people into the American-backed security forces that remain dominated by Shi‘i sectarian militias. The witnesses said that few if anyone at all was likely to respond to the call for volunteers, “because of the intense hatred local people have for the American occupation, which would control such a force.”

In a dispatch posted at 6:44pm Makkah time Saturday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb exploded by a checkpoint manned by puppet “al-Anbar Salvation Council” police in ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad at midday Saturday.

Witnesses said that the Americans also cleared out the stores in the car repair market − a total of more than 30 shops and stores. The US forces searched them and afterwards planted explosives and completely blew up the commercial area. The witnesses said that the Americans who have encamped in the middle of al-Mal‘ab and control the entire neighborhood have banned all automobile traffic. No one is allowed to drive a car through the area, all are forced to buy their food and other goods and carry them home on foot.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported puppet police sources as saying that the American plane fired a rocket into the group of puppet troops who had been hiding behind a high earthen barrier, ready to ambush Resistance fighters, since dawn Saturday.

The sources said that the American fighter believed that the puppet troops were themselves Resistance men and rocketed them, killing or wounding everyone in the unit.

US forces were trying to keep an information lid on the story by preventing journalists from approaching al-Fuhaylat village, but the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent learned of the incident from sources in the puppet police.
