Resistance bombards US-occupied al-Habbaniyah base with heavy mortars on Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:47pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired ten heavy 120mm mortar rounds in two barrages targeting the US base in al-Habbaniyah, 70km west of Baghdad on Thursday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that the Resistance fired six 120mm mortar shells at the American-occupied base in one volley. Then about 15 minutes later they followed that up with another barrage of four more 120mm mortar shells.
The witnesses said that the rounds scored direct hits on the base and set off explosions inside. Clouds of smoke covered the area and US helicopters flew in over the facility, indicating that there had been casualties.

Resistance bomb destroys US fuel tanker near ar-Rutbah Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:24pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US military column outside the city of ar-Rutbah, about 388km west of Baghdad, near the border with Jordan, on Thursday.
The al-Hadithah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in ar-Rutbah as saying that a bomb that had been planted by the main outer road 2km from town went off by a column of several trucks and fuel tankers supplying the US occupation forces. The blast destroyed one tank truck, which blew up and severely wounded the driver.
The witnesses said that a big fire was ignited by the blast that sent clouds of smoke rising over the area. The Americans brought in Marine reinforcements and closed off the entire area until the fire in the tank truck had been extinguished.

Resistance battles puppet police in Ba‘qbuah midday Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:39pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at that hour large-scale and fierce fighting was underway between Resistance men and puppet police in the middle of Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the old market area of the city as saying that the Resistance fighters were using light and medium weapons in the battle that was raging near the al-Kawthar Drinks Company.
The entire area has been closed off due to the intensity of the combat which was still going on at the time the correspondent filed his report.
US, puppet troops carry out mass arrests near Ba‘qubah at dawn Friday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:47am Makkah time Friday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces backed up by their Iraqi puppet allies carried out a campaign of random raids and arrests of civilians in Diyala Province at dawn on Friday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the Jurf al-Milh area east of Ba‘qubah, about 65km northeast of Baghdad, as saying that the Americans and their allies surrounded the area at dawn and proceeded to make widespread raids and arrests, picking up more than 22 local residents on the pretext that they were “wanted.”
The witnesses said that the forces also surrounded the Mu‘askar ar-Rashid area in the middle of Ba‘qubah and the al-Muhandisin neighborhood and carried out indiscriminate raids there as well.
Resistance destroys armored vehicle in Ba‘qubah Thursday.
In a dispatch posted at 12:06pm Makkah time midday Friday, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters disabled a US armored vehicle in the middle of Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad, on Thursday.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Resistance fighters fired an S5K rocket at the vehicle, scoring a direct hit and disabling it. Three US troop aboard it were injured. The Americans responded by opening fire indiscriminately, killing one local man named Ahmad Salam ad-Dulaymi. They also surrounded the area for two hours as they worked to haul away the wreckage and evacuate the wounded.

Resistance car bomb rips through Kurdish separatist gunmen in Kirkuk Friday afternoon.
In a dispatch posted at 2:27pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier, an Iraqi Resistance car bomb blew up by a column of pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militiamen near the Technical Institute in southern Kirkuk.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source in Kirkuk as saying that the bomb, which had been parked by the side of the road, killed or wounded 13 Peshmergah separatist gunmen as they headed towards the provincial headquarters. The source said that the casualties were transported to the city’s general hospital an the area where the attack occurred was sealed off by US and Iraqi puppet forces.

British soldier reported killed in Friday morning bombing north of al-Basrah.
In a dispatch posted at 2:38pm Makkah time Friday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a British patrol in the al-Harithah area near just north of al-Basrah on Friday morning.
The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported an Iraqi puppet police source as saying that the blast set fire to a British Jeep that was bringing up the rear of the patrol. One British soldier was killed and two more were wounded, the source indicated. British forces in al-Basrah made no immediate comment or announcement regarding the attack.
