Al-Anbar Province.
Ar-Ramadi.

Fighting reported between local tribes and al-Qa‘idah in ar-Ramadi area Tuesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 6:33pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that at the time of reporting violent fighting was under way between members of the puppet “al-Anbar Salvation Council” police and armed men thought to be members of al-Qa‘idah in ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported local residents as saying that the fighting erupted when the armed men attacked the home of a tribal shaykh. At the time of reporting fighting was raging in two neighborhoods: al-Bu Sudah and al-Bu ‘Alwan. There had been casualties on both sides.

Tension has been on the rise between tribes in the ar-Ramadi area and the al-Qa‘idah organization and differences escalated to the point that the tribes felt impelled to join form units of the puppet “al-Anbar Salvation Council” police just in order to reduce the armed presence of al-Qa‘idah in the area.

Al-Fallujah.

Bomb targets members of collaborationist “Islamic Party” in al-Fallujah, causing injuries.

In a dispatch posted at 1:46p Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded in the al-Halabisah area of western al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, targeting members of the collaborationist Iraqi Islamic Party.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in al-Halabisah, 7km west of al-Fallujah, as saying that the car bomb left a number of people who live in the area wounded. The correspondent noted that there had also been numerous tribal clashes between the al-Bu ‘Isa and al-Halabisah tribes and the al-Bu Mar‘i tribe that come in the wake of a bombing that killed a large number of civilians in a mosque in al-Habbaniyah in February.

Resistance blasts US base near al-Fallujah with mortars Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 10:39am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired off a heavy bombardment of nine mortar rounds on the US base known as al-Mazra‘ah (“The Farm”) located near al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet security source who works at a command post of employees near the base as saying that the Americans use the base to oversee the city and surrounding areas. The source said that plumes of smoke could be seen rising over the American-occupied camp.

US Special Forces carry out “inhuman” raids in al-Fallujah.

In a dispatch posted at 10:39am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US forces carried out raids and searches in the area near the Ahmad al-Badawi Mosque in the Nuwwab ad-Dubbat neighborhood of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an American Special Forces unit raided two houses on the pretext that the owners belonged to al-Qa‘idah. Residents said that the raid was carried out in an inhuman manner with airborne landings taking place on both homes simultaneously. The Americans proceded to blast open the house doors with percussion grenades. Storming inside, some of the US troops locked all the women in one room while others drove the men went up to the roof where they wrote numbers on them with big “Magic Markers” prior to their arrest.

As the Americans searched the home of Jihad ar-Rawi − who has five children − they stole a large quantity of gold jewelry belonging to one of his son’s wives. They also robbed the house of US$3,000 that ar-Rawi had kept in one room of the house.

The correspondent reported Abu Nada, the owner of the second house, located not far from that of ar-Rawi, as saying that the American special forces stole a large amount of money from his home − estimated at 7 million Iraqi Dinars − as well as his wife’s jewelry. Abu Nada has only one child, a daughter who is a college student.

Baghdad.

American-backed puppet regime executes Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan.

In a dispatch posted at 7:16am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an official with the office of the American-installed puppet Iraqi “Prime Minister” Nuri al-Maliki confirmed that Iraqi Vice President Taha Yasin Ramadan had been executed at dawn on Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Ramadan was the fourth high-ranking leader of the legitimate Iraqi government to be killed by the American-installed puppet regime, following show “trials” in which the officials were “convicted” of carrying out the laws of the country.

In a dispatch posted at 9:09am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the son of the martyred Iraqi Vice President said that his father would be buried in Tikrit, near the grave of the martyred Iraqi President Saddam Husayn.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the younger Ramadan as saying that his father’s death “was not an execution but an assassination.”

The American-backed puppet regime hanged the Iraqi Vice President on the fourth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Thus all four of the killings of top Iraqi leaders by the American-installed puppet regime have been carried out on dates of significance, intended to show the “power” of the Shi‘i sectarian elements and their American patrons who installed them in Baghdad and keep them there.

The Iraqi President, Saddam Husayn, was hanged − in violation of Iraqi law − on the Islamic ‘Id al-Adha or “Feast of Sacrifice” in a clear and vicious statement by the US-installed Shi‘i sectarian regime of the “superiority” it now occupies in the country, in which it can treat the Iraqi President like a “sacrificial lamb.” Barzan Ibrahim at-Tikriti and ‘Awad Hamad al-Bandar were both executed on the anniversary in the Islamic calendar of the murder of the historical Sunni Caliph ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab 1362 years before. The Caliph ‘Umar, an object of hatred by sectarian Shi‘ah, was stabbed to death in the year 644 by a Persian non-Muslim whose memorial cenotaph is a site of great public veneration in Shi‘i Iran. The murder of Taha Yasin Ramadan on the anniversary of the American invasion is thus a symbolic “anniversary present” from the puppet leaders to their American backers from whom all their “strength” and “authority” are derived.

Thirty more bodies of apparent victims of sectarian violence found dumped throughout Baghdad as US “Security Plan” enters second month in operation.

In a dispatch posted Tuesday, Quds Press reported that the Iraqi puppet police had announced the discovery of 30 unknown bodies in various parts of the occupied capital of Baghdad as the American “Security Plan” in the city enters its second month in action.

Sources in the puppet police told Quds Press that the bodies were found with their hands bound and eyes blindfolded and many bore signs of severe torture, a practice particularly associated with Shi‘i sectarian militias and their counterparts in the US-run puppet security forces. Some of the bodies were beheaded. There were no identity papers on any of the bodies that were taken to the Baghdad morgue in preparation for identification by next of kin.

Although the puppet authorities have repeatedly issued official statements saying that the number of sectarian murders and the number of bodies being found was on the decline following the imposition of the new American “Security Plan,” Quds Press noted that the number of recoveries of bodies of apparent victims of sectarian attacks was once again at high levels, similar to the situation that prevailed prior to the new American “Security” arrangements.

As efforts to incite sectarian violence continue, four mortar shells blast into Shi‘i homes in Baghdad Tuesday evening.

In a dispatch posted at 7:15pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier several mortar shells blasted into the predominantly Shi‘i Abu Dushayr neighborhood of southern Baghdad.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses and medical sources as saying that the barrage killed or wounded 29 people according to preliminary information compiled by personnel in al-Yarmuk Hospital. The correspondent reported that mortar shells landed on residential houses.

A puppet security source said that the barrage consisted of four heavy mortar rounds that were fired from an unknown source into the largely Shi‘i neighborhood.

Mysterious car bomb explodes in Baghdad’s al-Karradah district after noon Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:45pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two Iraqi civilians were killed and seven more wounded when an explosives-packed car blew up in the al-Karradah district of Baghdad after noon on Tuesday.

The Baghdad correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a car bomb that had been parked by the side of a road in al-Karradah near the suspension bridge blew up, killing two civilians and wounding seven more. The blast also inflicted heavy damage to a civilian car that happened to be passing at the time. After the blast puppet security forces closed off the entire area and transported victims to hospital.

Mysterious mortar attack severely wounds man at home in southeastern Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 2:08pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a civilian was severely injured when a mortar shell blasted into his home in southeastern Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a mortar rounds landed in a home in the az-Za‘faraniyah area of southeastern Baghdad, severely wounding a man who was rushed to hospital for treatment. The shell caused little damage to the house itself, since it landed in the yard, but the victim happened to be nearby at the time.

Bomb rips through Kia passenger bus in Baghdad, as mysterious bombings increase. Russian expert cites US special services as source of sectarian tension in Iraq.

In a dispatch posted at 1:20pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bus carrying civilian passengers exploded in the Baghdad district of al-Karradah according to an announcement by the puppet police.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the source as saying that a bomb went off in a Kia vehicle in a shopping center near the al-Karrahda area, which is predominantly Shi‘i. The source said that two people were killed and four more wounded. The injured were ambulanced to nearby hospitals.

The bombing was one of a growing number of mysterious attacks that have rocked Baghdad on a daily basis, killing or wounding thousands of Iraqis amidst claims that regional powers are attempting to keep sectarian violence raging in the country. Since no groups of the Resistance take responsibility for the mysterious blasts, suspicions are widely expressed that intelligence services are behind the bombing campaign.

Russian geostrategic expert Colonel-General Leonid Ivashov alluded to precisely this reality in an interview with the RIA-Novosti Press Agency correspondents Valery Yarmolenko and Zalina Tsopanova on Monday. Ivashov, who is Vice-President of Russia’s Academy of Geopolitical Problems, reviewed America’s military and political defeat in Iraq and noted the failure of US troops to counter the guerrilla movement, despite America’s advanced technological edge and the primitive armament of the Resistance. Ivashov remarked that, “the only thing that is working is not being done by the US troops but by their special services, namely to organize fighting between Shi‘ah and Sunnis.”

Mysterious car bomb explodes in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 1:11pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a short while earlier a car bomb that had been parked by the side of a road in Baghdad blew up near the ash-Shaykh ‘Umar puppet police station, inflicting numerous civilian casualties.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the explosion killed or wounded 22. The blast was also positioned close to an elementary school. All the injured were taken to nearby al-Kindi Hospital as puppet police cordoned off the area.

Shi‘i sectarian gunmen attack Sunni neighborhood in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 10:28am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Shi‘i sectarian militia carried out a major attack on Sunni civilians in the ad-Dubbat area of southern Baghdad. In the course of the sectarian raid the gunmen attacked the al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Mosque.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses who live in the al-Jihad neighborhood of the ad-Dubbat district as saying that the Shi‘i sectarian militiamen − members of the Badr Brigades and Jaysh al-Mahdi − went up on the roofs of houses and attacked the Sunni residents with machine guns and sniper rifles. The witnesses said that the Shi‘i sectarian gunmen were firing indiscriminately at Sunni homes.

The sectarian gunmen, supporters of the US occupation, also attacked the Sunni al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Mosque with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, destroying a large part of the structure.

Resistance fighters blast US base in southern Baghdad with heavy mortars.

In a dispatch posted at 10:02am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance forces fired three mortar shells, believed to be heavy 120mm rounds, into the US base in the southern Baghdad district of ar-Rustamiyah during Monday-Tuesday night, in the second such attack in 48 hours.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the al-Mu‘allimin neighborhood as saying that the US base − set up in what was formerly the Iraqi Military Academy took hits from the shells, which sent plumes of thick smoke rising from the facility as fire blazed inside. US aircraft prowled the skies over the al-Mu‘allimin, al-Amin, ad-Dubbat, and al-Wahdah neighborhoods searching for the Resistance attackers.

Diyala Province.
Buhriz.

Seven US Marines reported killed in truck bomb attack on Buhriz checkpoint late Monday night.

In a dispatch posted at 3:31pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden truck into a checkpoint manned by US Marines in Buhriz, just south of Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad late on Monday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the 5th Division of the puppet Iraqi Army as saying that the driver of an explosives-laden cement truck burst into a checkpoint manned by American Marines in the as-Sadah area of Buhriz at 11pm local time Monday night and detonated, killing seven US Marines and destroying two Humvees.

US forces imposed a curfew on the area after the attack and the checkpoint remained closed Tuesday morning. It was reported that the Americans confiscated the remains of the Resistance fighter who drove the truck bomb, not letting the local hospital take possession of them in order to hand them over to anyone claiming a relationship with the attacker.

Ba‘qubah.

Resistance ambushes US troops in Ba‘qubah Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 3:06pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that fierce fighting broke out between Resistance men and US occupation troops in the city of Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad on Tuesday morning.

The Ba‘qubah correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses as saying that violent fighting erupted in which the Resistance men fired machine guns and rockets at US troops. The Americans responded by firing indiscriminately all around the area, not only in the direction of the incoming fire, and in the process the US troops set three private cars on fire. No information on the nature or extent of casualties was available, since US forces quickly closed off the area.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in Balad Ruz (40km east of Ba‘qubah) as saying that a large force of puppet troops raided and searched the area, arresting 11 local residents, claiming that they had been involved in attacks on the puppet regime and its agencies.

Puppet forces also arrested 20 people in the al-Hadid district of Ba‘qubah on charges of involvement in attacks on puppet forces.

Al-Mada’in.

US carries out raids, arrests in al-Mada’in Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:34pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that US occupation troops backed up by puppet “Iraqi Interior Ministry Shock Troops (Maghawir)” surrounded sections of the town of al-Mada’in, 25km southeast of Baghdad on Tuesday morning and then proceeded to launch a campaign of mass raids and searches that was underway at the time of reporting.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported eyewitnesses in the city as saying that the Americans and their allies surrounded the Dawi area of the city and then launched house-to-house raids and searches in the district. At the time of reporting, residents did not know whether any arrests had been made.

Resistance blasts US facilty in al-Mada’in, causing casualties Monday night.

The barrage brought down a large part of the building and inflicted casualties among the Americans.

Witnesses said that US helicopters landed near the scene to evacuate the dead and wounded from the area to the nearby American facility known as “Camp Delta.”

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the mysterious barrage targeted the Hittin residential area in al-Iskandariyah. Both victims were hospitalized for treatment. Following the attack, the puppet police made a search of areas suspected of being the launch sites for the mortar shells but found nothing.

At-Ta’mim Province.
Kirkuk.

Turkoman leader: 600,000 Kurds from neighboring countries have flocked to Kirkuk to change its ethnic makeup so as to facilitate its incorporation into Kurdish separatist state.

In a dispatch posted at 1:16pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that ‘Ali Mahdi Sadiq, the Chairman of the Turkoman Party Ili al-‘Iraqi, has disclosed that about 600,000 Kurds from neighboring countries have flocked to the oil-rich Kirkuk area in an attempt to change the demographic character of the area so as to make it “Kurdish” for a plebiscite organized by the US occupation forces to determine the political future of the predominantly Arab city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Mahdi revealed that Kurds from Turkey, Iran, and Syria had been flooding into northern Iraq and that the American-installed Kurdish separatist forces were paying large sums to Arabs and Turkomans who agree to leave their home town, according to a report issued by the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq.

Mahdi declared that the Turkomans firmly reject the idea of a vote that is restricted just to Kirkuk and warned that a bloody civil war would erupt in the Kirkuk area if the Kurds win any such sham plebiscite and annex the city to the Kurdish separatist region in northern Iraq − the so-called “Kurdistan” area.

Meanwhile the Turkoman Party disclosed that it was forming its own militia to defend Turkomans who come under attack in an attempt to force them to leave Kirkuk, as the Kurdish separatists desire.

The correspondent noted that on 17 March 2007, the city’s Arabs and Turkomans held a meeting in Kirkuk attemded by more than a thousand political, tribal, and religious personalities who agreed to refuse to allow the Turkomans and Arabs to be marginalized or expelled from the city.

The pro-American Kurdish separatist parties are attempting to implement Paragraph 140 of the “Constitution” that the United States imposed on Iraq after its invasion, a paragraph which provides for the expulsion of all nationalities in the city to their “native places” in Iraq in order to transform Kirkuk into a purely Kurdish city, in preparation for its separation from Iraq and incorporation in the so-called “Kurdistan state.”

Seven explosions shake Kirkuk on Monday, killing 30.

Seven mysterious explosions shook the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk Monday as tensions mount over Kurdish plans to annex the city to their separatist region and as efforts continue to spark sectarian conflict in the country.

In a dispatch posted at 9:53am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that six explosions rocked various neighborhoods of the city of Kirkuk, 250km north of Baghdad on Monday, killing or wounding 54 people.

The Kirkuk correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that the first blast, from a bomb planted near the College of Law, 4km north of town, inflicted only superficial damage and injured some students in the college.

The source said that a car bomb with no license plates exploded near the headquarters of the puppet National Accord party in the al-Ba‘th area, 5km to the south of the city.

Then two large car bombs followed, one near the educational directorate in the at-Tis‘in area of the city, and the other in the Dumiz area, 7km south of town. The fifth and sixth explosions were the result of two bombs, one near the Asya Sil Communications Company and the second near the puppet police directorate in Kirkuk. The last explosion targeted puppet police colonel Taha Salah ad-Din, the puppet police chief in the al-Qawriyah station. Twelve people were killed and 42 wounded in that blast, the puppet police spokesman said.

Then in a dispatch posted at 1:22pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an explosives-laden car blew up by a group of civilians in the Tis‘in section of the city of Kirkuk, 250km north of Baghdad at 8pm local time Monday night, bringing to seven the number of mysterious bombings that rocked the city on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported relatives of the victims as saying that on Tuesday morning families set about burying their loved ones, whose total number reached 30 dead. More than 27 others were wounded in Monday’s mysterious bombings.

Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.

US helicopter kills cab driver in al-Mawsil Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 2:43pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a US helicopter gun ship killed an Iraqi civilian in the northern city of al-Mawsil on Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a puppet police source as saying that a US helicopter opened fire on a taxi parked near a patrol of the al-Yarmuk puppet police on the right (southwest) bank side of the Tigris River in al-Mawsil.

The source said that the driver, Ghanim Muhammad Ibrahim, was killed on the spot. Ibrahim, a taxi driver, was sitting in his parked vehicle at a taxi stand when the American helicopter suddenly attacked for no apparent reason. The source said, however, that the US aircraft was engaged in combat with Resistance fighters in the Ra’s al-Jaddah area near where the attack on the taxi took place.

Puppet forces arrest seven residents of al-Mawsil Monday night, Tuesday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 9:38am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi puppet forces carried out arrests of local residents in the northern city of al-Mawsil on Monday and at dawn on Tuesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported residents of the at-Tahrir neighborhood of northeastern al-Mawsil as saying that a large force of the “Emergency” battalion of the puppet police surrounded the neighborhood and arrested two residents, claiming that they belong to the Army of Muhammad Resistance group. Local eyewitnesses who live in the area say, however, that they are simple civilians with no connection to any Resistance organization.

Sources in the az-Zahra’ neighborhood of eastern al-Mawsil said that a force of the puppet police on Monday raided their area and arrested five local residents on the claim that they were members of al-Qa‘idah.

The arrests of the seven took place under the umbrella of a large US deployment in the city in the context of the implementation of the American “New Security Plan” for Iraq.
