In a dispatch posted at 3:12pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US column at the entrance to the town of Kubaysah, 185km northwest of Baghdad, at 10pm local time Friday night.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the bomb, which had been planted by the eastern entrance to the city, went off by a passing American column. The explosion set a US military vehicle ablaze with such intensity that the other Americans were unable to extinguish it and the four men inside were killed.

A source in the puppet police said that following the attack, US forces closed the eastern entrance to the city until further notice.

A fourth US soldier was wounded in the attack, Captain ‘Ali stated. After the attack, US forces completely closed off the area for at least half an hour.

Baghdad.

Bodies of 12 more victims of sectarian torture, murder found in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 11:34pm Baghdad time Saturday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that puppet police patrols picked up the bodies of 12 more unidentified murder victims strewn about various parts of Baghdad on Saturday.

AMSI reported a puppet police source as saying that the bodies were bound and blindfolded and showed signs of torture. All had been shot to death.

Torture is a trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-backed puppet regime security forces, much of whose membership is drawn from the Shi‘i sectarian gangs.

The bodies of the victims were taken to the Forensic Medicine morgue for identification.
In other news, an unknown sniper shot and killed an Iraqi woman in the ash-Shurtah al-Khamisah district of western Baghdad.

Three civilians were wounded when mortar rounds landed in the southern Baghdad district of al-Bayya‘ on Friday night and two more were injured when a mortar shell landed in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of western Baghdad.

AMSI reported local residents as saying that the Resistance fired four mortar shells at the base that the Americans had set up in the middle of al-A‘zamiyah. Two of the shells stuck the base, while the other two hit the al-A‘zamiyah courthouse.

The witnesses said that gunfire resounded in the district for several hours Saturday as American helicopters and warplanes swarmed overhead. The American gunfire set many stores on fire and damaged several civilian cars parked around the area.

The witnesses also complained that the Americans set their trained police dogs on the local people, many of whom were seriously injured as a result of dog attacks and had to be taken to the Medical City Hospital for treatment.

Residents also said that leaflets issued by Resistance groups appeared in several neighborhoods of al-A‘zamiyah calling on school students and government workers not to attend class or go to work for fear that their institutions might be struck by mortar attacks.
