The SIIC re-elected al-Hakim, who is 57, to the leadership of the party last week, unaware of his medical condition − despite the fact that he is a voracious smoker.

Al-Hakim has been known for his close association with the United States since before the US invasion of Iraq in 2003. The SCIRI armed wing − the 30,000-man Badr Brigades, which had been trained for years by the Iranian military − joined the US military to take part in the occupation of Iraq and then formed the backbone of the American-run security forces in occupied Iraq.

Shi‘i sectarian torture-murder spree continues: 25 more bodies found dumped in various parts of Baghdad Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:51am Baghdad time Saturday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the puppet police recovered the bodies of 25 murder victims dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Friday.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that most of the victims were bound and blindfolded and bore signs of torture. They were shot to death in the head and chest. Torture is a trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-backed puppet security forces whose troops are largely drawn from those Shi‘i sectarian militias.

The sectarian torture-murder spree aims at driving Sunnis out of much of central and southern Iraq, in order to prepare the way for the partition of the country in keeping with partition plans hatched by the Zionists and neo-conservative American think tanks.

The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”

The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.

Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.

They ordered the residents of the village out of their houses, separated the men from the women and children and opened fire on the men.

Television stations that operate under the aegis of the US occupation report that the puppet security forces in Diyala Province are carrying out an extensive “security campaign” in the province. Among the corpses was that of the Iraqi journalist Muhammad al-‘Azzawi, the puppet police reported.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported hat al-‘Azzawi had worked for oen of the legally operating Iraqi TV stations that is run by a Sunni political party that is taking part in the political process instituted in the country by the US occupation. The puppet sources claimed that they had been tortured and beheaded and that US troops, who offered a US$200,000 reward for any information on the whereabouts of the captured troops were still hunting for the third US soldier in the area of al-Mahumdiyah, al-Latifiyah, and al-Yusufiyah.

Mass grave of Sunnis abducted, murdered by pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi uncovered in al-Mahmudiyah Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 6:55pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a mass grave of Sunnis abducted and murdered by the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia has been found by the as-Sadiq al-Amin Mosque in al-Mahmudiyah, 25km south of Baghdad. The as-Sadiq al-Amin Mosque is a Sunni mosque that the Shi‘i sectarians overran and took over several months ago.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) as saying that a force of US occupation troops accompanied by their puppet Iraq army allies found the mass grave in the al-‘Askari neighborhood of al-Mahmudiyah on Friday. After digging up the bodies, the Americans and their allies transported them to an unknown destination perhaps for dispersal to families or perhaps for disposal.

The AMSI called on international human rights groups to pressure the Americans to provide for a genuine impartial investigation of the crime represented by the mass grave and by others like it that have been uncovered in various parts of Iraq where the pro-Iranian gunmen are active.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported that several months ago the pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi seized the as-Sadiq al-Amin Mosque and turned it into a torture center to which abducted Sunnis were brought for slow killing. Many such centers have been disclosed and shut down but little has been said and nothing practical done to curb the Shi‘i sectarian spree of sectarian abduction, torture, and murder, aimed at splitting the country on sectarian lines.
