Baghdad.

Two more Americans admitted killed by US military following earlier admission of eight dead.

In a dispatch posted at 9:21pm Makkah time Tuesday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military had admitted that two more American occupation soldiers had been killed in Iraq, in addition to the eight dead Americans announced earlier in the day in connection with Iraqi Resistance attacks that brought down an American Kiowa helicopter.

Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen kidnap, murder Palestinian father, son in western Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 7:03pm Makkah time Tuesday evening, Mafkarat al-Islam reported Quds Press as saying that that the Palestinian community in Iraq on Tuesday accused the pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia of kidnapping and murdering a Palestinian refugee and his son in the al-Ghazaliyah area of Baghdad.

Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources in the Palestinian community as telling Quds Press that Shi‘i sectarian gunmen abducted Tahsin Ahmad Nayif, 45, and his son 22-year-old son Ahmad on Sunday night. Ahmad is a student in the College of Engineering in Baghdad.

Relatives of the abducted men were later contacted and informed that Tahsin Nayif and his son were being held by members of the Muqtada as-Sadr Shi‘i sectarian movement in the ash-Shu‘lah district of Baghdad. The family members were ordered to come up with a large ransom to secure the release of their loved ones. When the family members told the kidnappers that they couldn’t come up with such a large sum of money, they were told that they would have to recover the corpses of Tahsin and his son.

The bodies of the two Palestinians were found in front of their house in al-Ghazaliyah on Monday, 28 May − an area not far from ash-Shu‘lah.

Palestinian sources said that the Shi ‘ sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi, which controls the area, had announced that anyone who comes forward to pick up the bodies would be killed, and as a result the bodies were still lying in front of the hose as of the time of reporting.

Tahsin Nayif, who held Jordanian citizenship, had moved his family out of Iraq to Jordan, but stayed behind so that his son could finish out the current academic year in college.

More than 200 Palestinians living in Iraq have been murdered since the US invasion of Iraq in the spring of 2003, in most cases the finger of blame has been directed at the Iranian backed Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, headed by the Shi‘i fundamentalist cleric Muqtada as-Sadr.

London announces that five Britons working for puppet “Iraqi Finance Ministry” had been abducted in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 4:17pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the British Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday that five British subjects had been abducted from the puppet “Iraqi Finance Ministry.” That report followed earlier ones that provided contradictory information on the identity of the kidnapped men.

In a dispatch posted at 9:48pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the British Foreign Ministry had said that five Britons had been abducted from the puppet “Iraqi Finance Ministry” by men dressed in puppet police uniforms.

The AMSI reported that among the five Britons were four mercenaries working for a Canadian security contractor for the US occupation forces. The abduction also involved the kidnapping of a German lecturer and the Britons were guarding him.

AMSI reported a woman eyewitness who was in the puppet “Finance Ministry” as saying that the armed men were led by a man dressed in a puppet police uniform with the insignia of a major. They came in demanding: “Where are the foreigners? Where are the foreigners?”

Sources in the puppet police said that 40 armed men closed off the streets around the three-story Computer Science building that belongs to the puppet “Finance Ministry” prior to storming in.

Earlier reports by the Iraqi puppet regime said that the abductees were German; eyewitnesses were quoted as saying that at least three people were abducted and it was believed that they were Americans accompanied by foreign guards.

Sources said that the experts, who work for a department of the US-installed puppet regime’s “Finance Ministry” were stopped at a checkpoint on Palestine Street. The armed men in puppet regime uniforms took them from their car and led them away to an unknown destination.

The American Associated Press (AP) reported Joe Gavaghan, a spokesman for Montreal-based mercenary security company GardaWorld, as confirming that four of its mercenaries and one client had been kidnapped. All four GardaWorld workers were British citizens, Gavaghan said, declining to provide more details.

A spokesman for BearingPoint, “management consulting firm” based in McLean, Virginia, USA, said one of its employees, apparently the client referred to by Gavaghan, was among those abducted.

The AP reported Steve Lunceford, the BearingPoint spokesman, as writing in an e-mail to the AP that: “We have been informed that a BearingPoint employee working in Iraq was taken from a work site early this morning.”

The AP reported that BearingPoint has been serving the US occupation in Iraq since 2003 on a contract funded by the US Agency for International Development.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that body parts of the dead were scattered around the area amidst pools of blood. Twenty-two people were killed and 58 more wounded in the car bombing.
