US tank kills three Iraqi children near al-Fallujah Friday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:46pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a US tank opened fire on a group of Iraqi children near the city of al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, on Friday, killing three of them.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the US military claimed that local residents reported that the children killed by the cold-blooded American attack were aged seven, nine, and eleven years.

The US statement claimed that the three children were killed and an armed man was wounded when one of the American tanks opened fire on three men who were planting a homemade bomb outside al-Fallujah. The American statement said that dust and ruins obscured the view of the American tank men after they fired their guns, and they could not tell whether their gunfire had caused secondary explosions from the bomb that the men were allegedly planting when the Americans attacked.

Baghdad.

Head of al-Qa‘idah in Iraq orders fighters to stay home, not clash with Islamic Army men, following two days of battle between rival Resistance groups in Baghdad’s al-‘Amiriyah.

In a dispatch posted Saturday, Quds Press reported that Abu ‘Umar al-Baghdadi, the commander of the Resistance group the “Islamic State of Iraq,” ordered his fighters to stay in their camps and homes in the aftermath of an outbreak of fighting with the Islamic Army Resistance organization in the al-‘Amiriyah district of western Baghdad over the last two days.

In a statement distributed throughout al-‘Amiriyah and elsewhere in Baghdad on Saturday, 2 June 2007, (a copy of which was obtained by Quds Press) al-Baghdadi told his followers to hold their anger over issues that arose between their organization and the Islamic Army, stressing that there was no difference between the blood of the fighters for the “Islamic State of Iraq” and the Mujahideen of the other Resistance organizations. All such blood is illegal for Muslims to shed, al-Baghdadi emphasized. Al-Baghdadi noted the role that the Islamic Army had played in the Resistance and that some fighters in the “Islamic State” − a group dominated by al-Qa‘idah − had previously fought for the Islamic Army.

In his statement, al-Baghdadi said that a committee of Shari‘ah judges from the “Islamic State” organization and other Resistance groups to ascertain the truth of what happened to spark the fighting and to punish the miscreants. The al-Qa‘idah commander in Iraq said that whatever happens, the amicable relationship with the Islamic Army will continue.

Al-Baghdadi praised the positions of the other Resistance organizations, including the Ansar as-Sunnah and the Brigades of the 1920 Revolution, that have striven to eliminate internecine strife. He urged any fighters in the “Islamic State of Iraq” who have any grievance with other Resistance groups to take that complaint to the Shari‘ah judges of the “Islamic State” who would investigate and see that justice was done.

Shi‘i sectarian death squads murder Sunni religious leader in western Baghdad midday Saturday.

In a dispatch posted at 8:40pm Makkah time Saturday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) had reported that gunmen had killed the Imam of the as-Siddiq Sunni Mosque in the al-Ghazaliyah neighborhood of western Baghdad at noon Saturday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that gunmen shot and killed ‘Ali Khidr ‘Abbas az-Zand in what was only the latest in a series of murders of Sunni religious leaders by Shi‘i sectarian death squads.

Shi‘i sectarian militias blast Sunni neighborhood as part of effort to partition Iraq on sectarian lines.

In a dispatch posted at 5:20pm Makkah time Saturday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that mortar shells blasted into the predominantly Sunni neighborhood of al-Fadl in Baghdad, killing 10 and wounding 30 more people.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the British Reuters news agency as saying that early on Saturday morning, mortar shells crashed into houses in one of the oldest districts of Baghdad. Fifteen mortar rounds hit al-Fadl, killing 10, wounding 30, and inflicting damage on many homes.

One of the most common methods used by pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian militias is to bombard Sunni neighborhoods with mortar shells. Shi‘i sectarian militias are involved in a campaign of sectarian “cleansing,” aimed at driving Sunnis out of vast areas of southern and central Iraq and Baghdad in keeping with plans drawn up by Zionist and American think tanks to partition Iraq.

The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”

The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.

Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.

In a dispatch posted at 11:58am Makkah time Saturday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military admitted that five more of its occupation troops had been killed in Iraq.

The American announcement added that a fourth US soldier had died in hospital of wounds received about two weeks earlier to the south of Baghdad.
