Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Hadithah.

Iraqi Resistance Katyusha barrage kills four US Marines near al-Hadithah.

In a dispatch posted at 3:55pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance rocket barrage on a US camp west of al-Hadithah Wednesday morning, killed four American Marines, sources in the Iraqi puppet police reported.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Captain Ibrahim Sa‘dallah al-Hayyali, official spokesman for the puppet police in al-Hadithah, 270km northwest of Baghdad, as saying that four US Marines were killed and three more of them − one of those an officer − were wounded when the Iraqi Resistance fired two Katyusha rockets into a US military camp set up in the al-Hadithah Secondary School.

Captain al-Hayyali told the press that the Americans arrested 18 people who were in the vicinity of the camp − whom they described as “suspects” and claimed were involved in the attack.

Al-Kubaysah.

US forces begin surrounding al-Kubaysah with earthen wall.

In a dispatch posted at 9:35pm Baghdad time Wednesday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation forces began to build earthen walls around the city of al-Kubaysah, 185km northwest of Baghdad at dawn on Wednesday. The reason for the American action was unknown.

The AMSI reported local witnesses in al-Kubaysah as saying that a large number of US military vehicles and power shovels and diggers began at dawn to build an earthen wall around the city. Local residents awoke to the sight of the construction machinery at work on a wall around their town. One witness told AMSI that the earthen wall so far is about 1.5 meters (about 5 feet) high.

Ar-Ramadi.

Resistance bomb targets puppet police in ar-Ramadi early Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:18pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a patrol of the puppet police in ar-Ramadi, 110km west of Baghdad on Wednesday morning.

The AMSI reported that the explosion, which occurred near the puppet provincial government building in ar-Ramadi, wounded one puppet policeman and damaged their patrol car.

Al-Fallujah.

Al-Fallujah under severe lockdown. US forces partition city with cement walls, ban motor traffic, arrest hundreds as population refuses to cooperate with American occupiers.

In a dispatch posted at 3:32pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that for the third straight day, US occupation forces banned vehicle traffic in al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, and imposed heightened “security measures” − i.e., restrictions − in the streets of the city.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported sources as saying that the Americans have divided al-Fallaujah into four parts, separating each zone with a cement wall with checkpoint placed to control all traffic between the zones. The checkpoints are manned by US occupation troops and their local recruits in the so-called “al-Anbar Salvation Council” puppet police.

A source in the al-Fallujah puppet police said that the American ban on vehicles was still in effect and might remain in force for a month at least. Only motorcycles might be allowed out on the streets, the source said.

The lockdown of the city has been accompanied by widespread mass arrests of local residents. In just the last few days, 211 residents have been arrested on charges of “terrorism” − a charge that can bring the death penalty. Many residents of al-Fallujah have been sending their children out of the city to prevent their being arrested in the massive sweeps.

The US occupation forces and their Iraqi puppet allies have been experiencing tremendous difficulties, the sources say, in finding arms and equipment caches belonging to the Iraqi Resistance because local residents have rallied around the Resistance men and are not cooperating with the Americans. Colonel Taha Makhluf of the puppet “al-Anbar Salvation Council” police complained that the local people were not cooperating in the searches, noting that in response they were carrying out more mass arrest sweeps among the population.

Baghdad.

Ending their clashes: Islamic Army, al-Qa‘idah in Iraq sign treaty normalizing reltations between rival Iraqi Resistance organizations.

In a dispatch posted at 4:54pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a Sunni religious leader announced that members of the Islamic Army Iraqi Resistance organization and leaders of the al-Qa‘idah in Iraq Resistance organization said the dawn prayer together and signed a peace accord between the two organizations Wednesday, ending clashes between the two groups.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Shaykh Abu Ghazi al-Jabburi told the press that about 40 fighters and field commanders of the two Resistance groups signed a peace treaty ending their infighting. The representatives of the two groups said the dawn prayer in a Baghdad mosque on Wednesday morning, the Shaykh said, declining to provide the name of the place of worship.

Shaykh al-Jabburi said that the two Resistance groups signed a “binding treaty under Islamic law in accordance with the Qur’an and the practice of the Prophet Muhammad which is to govern relations between the two organizations and to serve as the basis of rulings in disputes between them. The two Resistance groups also agreed on solutions for “some battlefield issues” and agreed to put an end to the escalating propaganda war between the two groups.

Shaykh al-Jabburi said that the agreement was reached after the intervention of the leader of the Ansar as-Sunnah Resistance organization and the Commander of the Army of the Rashideen Resistance group.

Meanwhile residents of the western Baghdad district of al-‘Amiriya − which was recently the scene of fierce fighting between al-Qa‘idah and the Islamic Army − had now returned to normal. The local witnesses said that armed fighters from al-Qa‘idah and the Islamic Army once again patrol the streets of the Baghdad district − a district not under the control of the US occupation or its Shi‘i sectarian puppet regime.

In a communique´ posted on its website on Wednesday, 6 June 2007, the Islamic Army published the text of the agreement, which provided for:

An immediate halt to all military operations, including captures, between the two sides in all sectors and a complete halt to all forms of escalation between the two sides, including the escalation of the propaganda war.
The formation of a council of adjudicators to rule on any pending issues between the two sides.

Shi‘i sectarian militia together with puppet regime security forces seize Sunni mosques in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 8:12pm Baghdad time Wednesday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that pro-Iranian Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian militiamen seized control of two Sunni mosques in the Baghdad district of al-Bayya‘ at midday Wednesday.

The AMSI reported that the sectarian gunmen took over the mosques after Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militiamen had been withdrawn from the area and replaced with puppet so-called “Order Protection” police − a force that is Shi‘i sectarian in makeup and has frequently backed up Shi‘i sectarian militias in attacks on Sunni mosques in the al-‘Amil and al-Bayya‘ districts of Baghdad as part of the effort to drive Sunnis out of vast areas of central and southern Iraq and much of Baghdad, in preparation for the partition of the country in keeping with plans drawn up by Zionist and American think tanks.

AMSI reported that the Peshmergah Kurdish separatist militia were replaced by Shi‘i “Order Protection” puppet police because with the Kurds there, the Shi‘i sectarian militas had been unable to carry out their campaigns of driving Sunnis from the district. With the takeover of these latest mosques, all the mosques in the district have now been occupied by Shi‘i sectarian militiamen.

The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”

The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.

Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.

Wave of Shi‘i sectarian torture, murder continues: 33 torture victims’ bodies recovered throughout Baghdad Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:33pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet police had recovered the bodies of 33 more victims of torture and murder dumped in various parts of Baghdad. Torture is a trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-backed security forces whose members are drawn from those Shi‘i sectarian militias.

US tank blasts historic Sunni mosque in walled-off al-A‘zamiyah district late Tuesday night, in apparent effort to spark sectarian fighting.

In a dispatch posted at 12 noon Baghdad time Wednesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US tanks fired two artillery shells at the historic Abu Hanifah an-Nu‘man Mosque in Baghdad’s predominantly Sunni al-A‘zamiyah district on Tuesday night.

The AMSI reported eyewitnesses as saying that two tank shells blasted into the mosque at 11:15pm Tuesday night, killing Muhammad Samir, a mosque guard and wounding others. The American attack on the mosque also severely damaged the outer door of the mosque. AMSI noted that there was no fighting going on in the area, which was calm until the American tank shells slammed into the mosque for no apparent cause.

The AMSI correspondent reported that the reason for the sudden assault on the mosque was evidently to attempt to spread sectarian strife between Sunni and Shi‘i Iraqis.

US troops murder Iraqi man and his 75-year-old father in Baghdad early Wednesday morning night.

In a dispatch posted at 10:35am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation troops executed the Iraqi civilian Sarmad Yasin Farhan, 45, and his 75-year-old father in the al-Jami‘ah [“university”] neighborhood of Baghdad early Wednesday morning.

AMSI reported that the Americans raided Sarmad Farhan’s house at 637 al-Jami‘ah at 2:30am Wednesday morning, searching for the son. The US troops stormed into the house smashing furniture and belongings but did not find Sarmad so they moved on to the home of his father al-Hajj Yasin Farhan and captured the father and son together.

When the Americans tried to arrest Sarmad, his father intervened and tried to stop the Americans from taking his son, or at least wanted to find out what they were arresting him for. The Americans took al-Hajj Yasin to another room in the house and sprayed him with a hail of gunfire, killing him there. The US troops then took the son, Sarmad to another room and turned their guns on him, killing him as they had his father and leaving no indication as to why they had come to get him.

The Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq declared in a statement that it was holding the US occupation and the puppet regime completely responsible for the double homicide. The American occupation forces had made no comment on their murder as of the time of reporting by Mafkarat al-Islam.

Car bombs reportedly kill seven in Baghdad’s al-Kazimiyah Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 12:33pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet police had announced that at least seven people were killed and 25 more injured when two car bombs exploded simultaneously in the predominantly Shi‘i district of al-Kazimiyah in northeastern Baghdad Wednesday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the two cars had been parked by the side of the road near main squares in al-Kazimiyah when they blew up just minutes apart. The first car bomb went off near the az-Zahra’ Square in the middle of al-Kazimiyah; the second near a parking lot used by shoppers near the women’s prison in the district.

Resistance attack leaves US soldier dead south of Baghdad Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:40am Makkah time Wednesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters equipped with light arms killed a US soldier on Tuesday to the south of Baghdad, the US military admitted on Wednesday.

Resistance bomb kills three puppet troops in Baghdad’s al-‘Amil district Tuesday afternoon.

In a dispatch posted at 9:41am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb went off by a patrol of puppet Iraqi army troops in the southern Baghdad neighborhood of al-‘Amil on Tuesday afternoon.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the bomb killed three puppet troops and wounded two more of them in addition to destroying one patrol vehicle and damaging a second. Local private cars and surrounding buildings were also damaged.

Also in al-‘Amil, a puppet regime source said that three civilians were wounded when a mortar shell of unknown origins blasted into a home on Tuesday evening.

Puppet regime announces 105 arrests on Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:18pm Baghdad time Wednesday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the puppet regime had announced that it had officially arrested 105 Iraqis in various sweeps on Tuesday as their effort to suppress resistance to the US occupation continues.

The AMSI reported the puppet regime as announcing that 52 citizens were arrested in Baghdad, 31 in Ninwa Province, 15 in al-Anbar Province, 4 in Salah ad-Din Province, and 3 in Babil Province.

Diyala Province.
Al-Khalis.

Five puppet troops, police killed in clash with Resistance in al-Khalis before dawn Wednesday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:34am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters battled Iraqi puppet police and troops near al-Khalis, 57km north of Baghdad early Wednesday.

The AMSI reported medical sources and sources in the puppet regime as saying that a puppet regime force backed up by American troops raided the al-Kubat area to the east of al-Khalis early Wednesday, sparking a violent battle with Resistance men in which light and medium weapons were used. American helicopter gun ships also took part in the fighting, blasting positions of the Resistance men in the area, the puppet sources said. Five puppet troops and policemen were killed in the battle and eight more of them wounded.

Babil Province.
Al-Musayyib.

Resistance bomb targets puppet police in al-Musayyib late Tuesday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:41am Baghdad time Wednesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a puppet police patrol in al-Musayyib, 70km south of Baghdad on Tuesday evening.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the blast wounded a puppet police captain and three other puppet policemen.

Al-Hindiyah.

Puppet official resigns.

In a dispatch posted at 12:27pm Baghdad time midday Wednesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Engineer Husayn Kazim, the puppet governor of the town of al-Hindiyah, 100km south of Baghdad, submitted his resignation from the puppet governing council of Karbala’ province.

The AMSI reported Kazim as saying that he was resigning because of rampant corruption and partisan cronyism as well as the poor public services and endless crises that the district had to face. The puppet provincial council hastened to accept the resignation. AMSI added that the puppet Chairman of the al-Hindiyah town council also submitted his resignation.

Ninwa Province.
Al-Mawsil.

Gangs of thieves, kidnappers, murderers roam streets of al-Mawsil with knowledge of puppet police, Peshmergah.

In a dispatch posted at 3:29pm Makkah time Wednesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that gangs of thieves and kidnappers have appeared in the streets of al-Mawsil, Iraq’s third largest city. Local media sources report that the gangs operate with the full knowledge of the puppet police and the pro-American Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that gangs of thieves and kidnappers now roam the streets of the city, robbing, abducting, and killing people with the knowledge of the puppet police and Kurdish militia. Local residents confirmed that more than 13 children had been abducted just this month, their kidnappers then demanding ransoms of up to US$50,000 (75 million Iraqi Dinars) for their release. Religious scholars, merchants, doctors, and well-known teachers have been killed in the wave of murders sweeping the city.

Meanwhile, Mafkarat al-Islam reported, a well-known Iraqi Resistance organization issued a statement declaring that it had nothing to do with the killings and threatening what it called the “gangs of the Peshmergah and Shi‘i sectarians” who are trying to sully the image of the Iraqi Resistance in the city.
