Baghdad.

Shi‘i sectarian torture, murder spree continues: 17 more torture victims found dumped throughout Baghdad Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:30pm Baghdad time Monday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the puppet police recovered the bodies of 17 more murder victims dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Monday.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the bodies were bound an blindfolded and bore signs of torture − the trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-installed puppet security forces whose members are primarily drawn from those Shi‘i sectarian militias.

Shi‘i sectarian gunmen kidnap busload of students in full view of US-run puppet police Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 11:25pm Baghdad time Monday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that pro-Iranian Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militiamen seized a Kia bus that was transporting students from in front of the al-Ma’mun College in the al-Iskan district of Baghdad at noon Sunday.

The AMSI correspondent reported that the pro-Iranian militiamen abducted the busload of students before the eyes of the campus security guards and patrols of the American-installed puppet police. The gunmen took the female students off the bus and then abducted the males.

Also on Sunday, Shi‘i sectarian gunmen kidnapped a student after he had completed his final exams.

AMSI reported that the pro-Iranian gunmen are making use of the final exam period to abduct, torture, and murder Sunni students in their continuing effort to purge central and southern Iraq and Baghdad of Sunnis. The aim of their drive is to facilitate the partition of Iraq along sectarian and ethnic lines, in fulfillment of plans drawn up by Zionist and American think tanks.

The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)

The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”

The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.

Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.

US admits Iraqi Resistance attacks kill two more US troops.

In a dispatch posted at 10:32am Baghdad time Monday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military announced that two more of its occupation troops had been killed in Iraq, one of them in Baghdad and the second somewhere in Diyala Province.

The AMSI reported a US communique´ as admitting that one of its soldiers had been killed and another one wounded in Diyala Province. Consistent with the American practice of concealing the facts about its casualties in Iraq, the US statement did not specify further details about the attack, such as where in the 17,685 square kilometers of Diyala Province the deadly incident took place. It only added that the attack took place on Saturday, 9 June in the course of “combat operations.”

A second American communique´ disclosed that another American soldier had been killed in the southern part of Baghdad on Sunday, 10 June. Again, the only further details that the Americans released in that case was that the death occurred in the course of “combat operations.”

Diyala Province.
Ba‘qubah.

Resistance car bomber blows up important bridge near Ba‘qubah.

In a dispatch posted at 6:14pm Makkah time Monday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter drove an explosives-laden car up to an important bridge near Ba‘qubah, 65km northeast of Baghdad, and blew himself up.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported the puppet police as saying that the attack destroyed large parts of the bridge over the Diyala River, causing them to collapse into the water.

The source noted that there was a command post manned by occupation troops from Georgia (a former republic in the Soviet Union that is now a satellite of the United States) but it was not immediately known whether the attack was targeted on that checkpoint or on the bridge itself.

Al-Miqdadiyah.

US air strikes in al-Miqdadiyah kill six civilians Monday.

In a dispatch posted at 10:15pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US warplanes struck the Balwar area of al-Miqdadiyah, 85km northeast of Baghdad on Monday.

The AMSI reported sources in the puppet police as saying that the air strikes accompanied sweeps by US and puppet Iraqi troops on the ground searching for Resistance fighters in the area which is frequently the scene of Resistance attacks on US occupation forcs.

AMSI reported that the American fighter-bombers blasted a home in a residential area in Balwar, killing six residents of the house and destroying a number of other houses as well as the building housing the city Youth Center.

US forces shell villages north of al-Miqdadiyah, killing villagers.

In a dispatch posted at 1:11pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US occupation forces shelled the villages in the ‘Arab Jabbur area, north of al-Miqdadiyah (which is 85km northeast of Baghdad).

The AMSI reported local residents as saying that American heavy artillery fired three shells into the village of al-Aswad and the groves and villages nearby along the Diyala River. The reason given for the American assault was that Iraqi Resistance fighters were supposedly hiding in the groves in that area. The US barrage managed, however, to kill and wound several local villagers.

Resistance attacks home of puppet police official in al-Miqdadiyah Sunday night.

In a dispatch posted at 1:11pm Baghdad time Monday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi Resistance fighters attacked the home of Lieutenant Colonel Muntasir Sami Jawwad, an aide to the puppet police chief of al-Miqdadiyah late on Sunday night.

AMSI quoted a puppet police source as saying that Resistance men equipped with various types of weapon attacked the house of the puppet police officer and abducted his son, brother, and nephew.

Babil Province.
Al-Latifiyah.

Resistance bomb disables US Humvee near al-Latifiyah, wounding US troops.

In a dispatch posted at 9:25pm Makkah time Monday night, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that an Iraqi Resistance bomb exploded by a US patrol between the al-Latifiyah Bridge and Bridge No. 77 on the highway from Baghdad south to al-Hillah midday Monday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the explosion disabled a Humvee, wounding the Americans aboard.

Al-Mahmudiyah.

US admits three American troops killed in Sunday night car bomb attack on bridge near al-Mahmudiyah.

In a dispatch posted at 8:43pm Baghdad time Monday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military had admitted that three American troops had been killed and six more of them wounded when an Iraqi Resistance fida’i fighter detonated the car bomb he was driving on a bridge to the south of Baghdad late on Sunday night.

The AMSI reported that the American statement indicated that the US troops were manning a checkpoint on the bridge when the structure collapsed in the explosion. An Iraqi serving the American occupation troops as a translator was also wounded in the explosion that took place near al-Mahmudiyah, about 30km south of Baghdad.
