Al-Anbar Province.
Al-Fallujah.

Resistance bomber kills six puppet police recruits in al-Fallujah attack midday Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 5:56pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance fighter wearing an explosive belt blew himself up amidst would-be recruits who had gathered at a recruiting station in the at-Ta’mim neighborhood of southern al-Fallujah, 60km west of Baghdad, to volunteer to serve in the puppet police

The AMSI reported that the attack, which took place at noon on Sunday, killed six of the recruits and wounded about 14 more of them, most of those severely.

Ambulances raced to the scene of the attack and evacuated the wounded collaborators to al-Fallujah General Hospital. The puppet police, meanwhile, closed off the area where the attack took place and prevented anyone from approaching the recruiting station, which had been opened last week.

Baghdad.

Resistance bomb targets puppet troops in Baghdad.

In a dispatch posted at 9:32pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb went off by a puppet army patrol in the al-Iskan neighborhood of western Baghdad at midday Sunday.

The AMSI reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the blast wounded three puppet troops.

Shi‘i sectarian torture murder spree continues, US troops hand nine more victims’ bodies to puppet police station in west Baghdad Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 3:32pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the puppet police station in the al-‘Amil neighborhood of western Baghdad received the bodies of nine more civilian victims of Shi‘i sectarian murder and torture on Sunday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that US troops handed over the bodies to the puppet police station. All the victims had been killed by gunshots to the head and all bore signs of torture on their bodies − a trademark of the Shi‘i sectarian militias and the US-run security services most of whose members are drawn from the Shi‘i sectarian militias.

The source said that the puppet police, in turn, handed the bodies over to the Forensic Medicine Department for identification.

Newspaper editor found murdered by mosque in Jaysh al-Mahdi stronghold.

In a dispatch posted at 2:58pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the body of the editor-in-chief of the newspaper as-Sabah had been found murdered in the Baghdad district of Madinat ath-Thawrah − nicknamed “Madinat as-Sadr” after the American invasion.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported as-Sabah as saying Sunday that Falih Wadi Mijdhab, its editor-in-chief, had been abducted while on his way to work from his h home in the al-Habibiyah district in eastern Baghdad on Wednesday. The attackers let Mijdhab’s son, Haydar ar-Rabi‘i, and the driver go.

Mijdhab’s body was found by a mosque in the “Madinat as-Sadr” area − a stronghold for the Iranian-backed Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia. It appeared he had been shot to death on Thursday.

The media have been a target in the course of the sectarian struggle against all enemies of the occupation since the US invasion. A total of 227 journalists have been killed since the US occupation began in March 2003. Mijdhab is reportedly the 28th journalist killed in Iraq since the beginning of 2007.

Salah ad-Din Province.
Bayji.

Resistance car bomber blasts US military column west of Bayji Sunday morning.

In a dispatch posted at 9:07pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomber drove a small vehicle into a column of US military vehicles near the American base in the as-Siniyah area west of Bayji, about 200km north of Baghdad on Sunday morning.

The AMSI reported that the American military column was providing protection for a group of new recruits to the puppet regime army. Immediately after the blast, US troops closed the roads in the area and prevented anyone from approaching the scene of the attack, making an account of the nature and extent of casualties impossible to obtain.

Later, in a dispatch posted at 9:32pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported a source in the puppet regime as claiming that the car bomb attack on the joint US-Iraqi puppet column killed three puppet policemen and wounded seven more of them.

Samarra’.

US, puppet troops arrest dozens of villagers in raids north of Samarra’.

In a dispatch posted at 4:14pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that US and puppet Iraqi forces had launched a campaign of searches in the villages located to the north of the city of Samarra’, 120km north of Baghdad on Saturday.

The AMSI correspondent reported that a large forces of US troops accompanied by puppet army troops raided the villages of al-Bu Hamid and al-Bu Khadu, arresting dozens of villagers.

In a dispatch posted at 1:40pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Shi‘i sectarian militias accompanied by puppet “Iraqi National Guards” attacked the village of al-‘Akidat in the al-Miqdadiyah area, 85km northeast of Baghdad, on Sunday morning.

The AMSI reported that local residents resisted the attack by the sectarian puppet forces and that one of the defenders died in the course of the battle.

The attack was part of the offensive against all those who oppose the occupation that was launched by the Jaysh al-Mahdi and other Shi‘i sectarians along with the US-backed puppet regime forces following the suspicious bombing of the Shi‘i Shrine of the Two Imams in Samarra’ on 13 June.

In a dispatch posted at 8:17pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that militias armed with light and medium machine guns launched their attacks on the villages east of al-Miqdadiyah Sunday afternoon.

The AMSI reported sources in the puppet security forces and medical sources as sayig that armed groups attacked the villages of al-Ja‘‘ar, al-Jaff, and ad-Dawlab, setting fire to several houses. The gunmen also assaulted the al-‘Izzi area north of al-Miqdadiyah after noon Sunday.

A medical source said that battles erupted as a result of the attacks. Three of the gunmen were killed and a number of local residents, including women and children were wounded and taken to the city hospital for treatment.

At-Ta’mim Province.
Kirkuk.

Resistance car bomb kills three pro-American Kurdish gunmen in Kirkuk Sunday.

In a dispatch posted at 9:17pm Baghdad time Sunday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb went off by the headquarters of the US-backed Kurdish separatist Peshmergah militia in the al-‘Askari district of Kirkuk.

The AMSI reported that the blast killed three Peshmergah gunmen and wounded seven more of them. A puppet regime spokesman earlier acknowledged the attack, but clamed that the targets were Kurdish separatist Asayish (i.e., “security”) forces. Eyewitnesses said that the Peshmergah was the target, however, and that their losses were considerable, but that local puppet troops closed off the area and prevented journalists from approaching.

Earlier, in a dispatch posted at 1pm Makkah time Sunday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam had reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomber blew up near a headquarters of the pro-American Kurdish separatist Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Kirkuk, about 255km north of Baghdad on Sunday.

The correspondent for Mafkarat al-Islam reported Captain Shirzad Mahmud of the Kirkuk puppet police as claiming that two Kurdish puppet Asayish security men were killed and four more were wounded when an explosives-laden car that had been parked near a PUK headquarters in the al-‘Askari (east) section of town blew up.

The pro-American Kurdish separatist PUK is led by Jalal Talibani, whom the Americans have installed as puppet “President of Iraq.”

Al-Basrah Province.
Al-Basrah.

“Southern Iraqi Brigades” declares war on Jaysh al-Mahdi, the “heart of the tragedy” in southern Iraq, which “trains in Iran and south Lebanon to kill Iraqis” rather than fight the occupation as they have proclaimed.

In a dispatch posted at 2:51pm Baghdad time Sunday afternoon, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a group calling itself the “Southern Iraqi Brigades” threatened to declare war on the Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, declaring that pro-Iranian group to be responsible for the attacks on mosques and tombs in the city of al-Basrah. The Southern Iraqi Brigades declared in a statement: “The members of this Jaysh al-Mahdi constitute the head of the tragedy in southern Iraq as they prepare themselves to take over there after the exit of the occupation forces.”

The statement noted that the Jaysh al-Mahdi had penetrated into the security agencies of the puppet regime in large numbers and carry out crimes in their name.

The Southern Iraqi Brigades’ membership is drawn from the Arab tribes and former soldiers as well as independent citizens all opposed to Iranian interference in Iraq and to Iraqi stooges of Iran in southern Iraq. In its statement, issued Saturday, the Brigades declared: “the Jaysh al-Mahdi’s scandalous acts in al-Basrah have caused the deaths of numerous innocent local residents, with more than 30 killed on the first night [after the bombing of the Samarra’ shrine on 13 June] and many others injured, and with their attacks on Islamic houses of worship in which they burned many of them down.”

The Southern Iraqi Brigades declared that the Jaysh al-Mahdi had penetrated into the regime’s security apparatus such as the police, intelligence service, and numerous spying agencies, in large numbers such that they represent as much as 70 percent of those working in those departments. Thereby they have so subordinated the state and its agencies to carrying out its criminal acts on the streets in the south of Iraq that the activities of these criminal gangs that use religion and the name of Shi‘ism in their crimes − of which the Shi‘i people are innocent − have become rampant.”

The Southern Iraqi Brigades declared in their statement that for a long time they refrained from carrying out any kind of acts against the Jaysh al-Mahdi because it noisily asserted that it was making war on the occupation, “making their logic close to our goals, but we have discovered that that what they say has no relation to reality and that they are trained in Iran and in southern Lebanon to kill Iraqis.”

The Southern Iraqi Brigades warned that its guns would be trained on the al-Mahdi gangs and that the members of the Brigades “have been instructed not to have mercy on these murderers now that we have realized that they are the head of the tragedy in the south of Iraq.”
