Iraqi Resistance bomb destroys US tank in southwestern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 11:09pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported a media source as saying that an Iraqi Resistance bomb had destroyed a US tank in southwestern Baghdad.
The AMSI reported the source as saying that the bomb went off by a US patrol as it drove along the road between the “Baghdad al-Jadidah” and the “7th April” districts. Another witnesses said that the blast wounded several of the crewmen aboard the tank and indicated that US troops then surrounded the area. The “7th April” district is the location where the Americans maintain one of their network of military bases in the occupied Iraqi capital.

In a dispatch posted at 10:34pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a sniper belonging to the puppet “Iraqi National Guards” shot and killed a local woman in the al-‘Amiriyah neighborhood of Baghdad on Tuesday.
The AMSI reported that the puppet “Guard” sniper killed the woman as she was walking across al-Munazzamah Street.
The correspondent reported that US troops began sealing off the area of al-Munazzamah Street, cutting if off from al-‘Amal ash-Sha‘bi Street with a high concrete wall, as the Americans continued implementing their strategy of partitioning Iraq along sectarian lines, having walled off the Sunni district of al-A‘zamiyah some weeks ago. The correspondent noted that the walls, which cut off neighborhoods and districts and force residents and visitors to go through a small number of controlled checkpoints, in effect turn whole parts of the Iraqi capital into prisons.
US forces also began walling off the districts of al-Ghazaliyah and the al-‘Adl Neighborhood, blocking residents from returning home from work as they carried out their construction. Long lines of up to 500 cars backed up as residents attempted to get home and then had to give up and drive off to other parts of the American-controlled Iraqi capital.
Efforts to split Iraq along religious and ethnic lines are part of the plans that US and Zionist politicians have long been cultivating with a view to fragmenting the Arab region.
The idea of “the dissolution of Iraq into a Shi‘ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part” was voiced by veteran Zionist military correspondent Ze’ev Schiff in Ha'aretz on 2 June 1982 and was a part of the divide-and-rule strategy laid out by Zionist writer Oded Yinon in his “Strategy for Israel in the 1980s,” published in Kivunim (Directions), A Journal for Judaism and Zionism, published by the World Zionist Organization in occupied Jerusalem in February 1982. (It was translated by the late anti-Zionist writer and activist Israel Shahak and is widely available.)
The idea of splitting the Shi‘ah in Iraq from the rest of the country was a cornerstone of the neo-Conservative strategy laid out in “A Clean Break” a paper drawn up by American Zionist government officials Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, David Wurmser, and Paul Wolfowitz in 1996 for the then Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Then in 2000 the neo-Conservative Project for a New American Century wrote Rebuilding America’s Defenses on the basis of the “Clean Break.”
The American version of the strategy for a partition of Iraq appeared in the article “The Three-State Solution” published in The New York Times on 25 November 2003 by Leslie Gelb (President Emeritus of the US Council on Foreign Relations). The same idea was reiterated, this time with “bi-partisan support” in the article by Gelb and US Democratic Senator Joseph Biden in “Unity through Autonomy in Iraq,” in The New York Times on 1 May 2006.
Then on 8 October 2006 the London Sunday Times reported that the partition of Iraq along religious and ethnic lines was one of the suggestions that the Baker-Hamilton commission was advancing.
Sectarian murder spree continues: 18 more bodies recovered in Baghdad Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 10:15pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that Iraqi puppet police patrols retrieved the bodies of 18 more victims of sectarian kidnaps and murders that had been dumped in various parts of Baghdad on Tuesday. Thirteen of the bodies were found in the Baghdad district of al-Karakh. All the victims had been shot to death.
Mysterious bomb explodes in market Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 8:53pm Baghdad time Tuesday evening, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that a car bomb went off near a market in the ash-Sha‘b district of Baghdad on Tuesday.
The AMSI reported that the blast killed at least eight people and wounded 20 more, according to a source in the puppet regime.
Bomb destroys US Humvee in as-Sayyidiyah midday Tuesday.
In a dispatch posted at 3:27pm Makkah time Tuesday afternoon, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that two bombs exploded by a US military patrol in the as-Sayyidiyah district of southern Baghdad at midday Tuesday.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a source in the puppet police as saying that the two bombs went off by a US patrol that was passing the ad-Darwish junction in as-Sayyidiyah at noon. The blasts destroyed one Humvee, the source said, but added that he had no information on the nature or extent of US casualties because the Americans sealed off the area immediately after the incident to conceal such information.
US admits deaths of two Marines in al-Anbar Province Sunday.
In a dispatch posted at 11:56am Baghdad time Tuesday morning, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the US military had admitted that two American Marines had been killed somewhere in the 138,501 square kilometers of al-Anbar Province.
The AMSI reported the American notice as claiming that the two Marines had died in what it called a non-combat situation while they were taking part in military operations in al-Anbar Province on Sunday 1 July. In keeping with the US practice of concealing facts regarding its losses in Iraq, the American statement provided no further details on the deaths or why the announcement of their demise had been delayed.
Bomb sets US tank on fire in eastern Baghdad.
In a dispatch posted at 10:54am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a bomb exploded by a US patrol in the al-‘Ubaydi neighborhood of eastern Baghdad, setting one American tank ablaze.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported the puppet police as declaring that US forces surrounded the area where the attack took place making it impossible to ascertain the nature or extent of US casualties.
US helicopter shot down Monday; crew reported evacuated.
In a dispatch posted at 8:42am Makkah time Tuesday morning, Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the US military admitted that the Iraqi Resistance had shot down a US Kiowa Helicopter to the south of Baghdad on Monday.
Mafkarat al-Islam reported a US military communique´ as saying that a US Apache helicopter evacuated the crew of the Kiowa, which had been shot down. After that, US fighter airplanes destroyed the helicopter using two 500-pound bombs.
At least 12 US helicopters have been shot down by the Iraqi Resistance in 2007.

Shi‘i sectarian Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen destroy residential homes in al-Iskandariyah in full view of puppet security forces.
In a dispatch posted at 11:28pm Baghdad time Tuesday night, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that the Iranian-backed Jaysh al-Mahdi Shi‘i sectarian militia blew up three houses in the village of al-‘Asriyah near al-Iskandariyah, about 40km south of Bahgdad on Tuesday.
The AMSI reported that the Jaysh al-Mahdi gunmen carried out their attack despite the presence of American-backed puppet troops and police all around the area who did not interfere in their sectarian attack.
Al-Iskandariyah has seen numerous sectarian attacks on the Sunni population in which homes and mosques in the area have been destroyed, including some houses right in front of the local puppet police station.

Resistance bomb targets puppet police chief’s motorcade in Kirkuk.
In a dispatch posted at 12:48pm Baghdad time midday Tuesday, the Association of Muslim Scholars of Iraq (AMSI) reported that an Iraqi Resistance car bomb exploded by the motorcade of the puppet police chief in the city of Kirkuk in northern Iraq on Tuesday morning.
