●聖戦士引渡しの圧力に抵抗する部族民
パキスタン軍は北部ワジルスタンの部族民に対するアクションを開始し、APCとタンクの砲火て村の数軒の家屋を破壊した。
部族長老たちとの交渉（ミランシャー近くのジャミヘイルに匿われている6人のアル・カーイダ容疑者の降伏）が決裂した後で、その攻撃は始まった。
軍はまた、市場の店舗を全部閉鎖して捜索を行い、2人の宗教学者を逮捕した。

彼の逮捕はパキスタンとアメリカの情報機関のジョイント・オペレーションの成果である。
イギリスのガーディアン紙は、シェイク・アーメド・サレームの逮捕はアル・カーイダ・ネットワークへ大打撃を与えるものだと述べた。
33才のシェイク・サレームは、1998年に起きた東アフリカの米国領事館爆破事件の主要な容疑者であった。
彼の捕獲には、生死に拘らず、2500万USDの報奨金が懸けられていた。
米国政府とパキスタン政府は今のところ彼の逮捕に関するレポートを否定している。

The Pakistan Army has commenced action against local tribes in Northern Waziristan, using APCs and tank fire to level several houses in the village.
The attack started after negotiations with tribal elders a failed to secure the surrender of six suspected Al-Qaida members at Jami Khail near Meeranshah.
Army troops also shut down all shops in the market and arrested two religious scholars during search operations.
The six Al-Qaida suspects were initially arrested but later freed due to intervention by the local tribal elders.
The Army action began when the tribesman refused to hand over the suspects back to the Pakistani government.
Arrest Of Important Al-Qaida Leader In Karachi Disclosed.
One of the most wanted Al-Qaida leaders, Sheikh Ahmed Saleem, was arrested in July this year in Karachi and was then secretly handed over to the US. The capture was the result of a joint operation by Pakistani and US intelligence agencies.
The British newspaper, the Guardian, in its report stated that Sheikh Ahmed Saleem's arrest was a major setback to the Al-Qaida network.
The 33-year old Sheikh Saleem was a prime suspect in the US consulate explosions in Eastern Africa back in 1998.
A reward worth US$25 million was set for his capture, dead or alive.
The US and Pakistani governments have so far denied reports regarding the arrest, but the British daily with references to its sources said that Sheikh Saleem was among those who were arrested in Karachi in July.
Tribesmen In Kunar Warn Karzai Government
KUNAR (AZZAM):
Tribal leaders in Kunar gave a stern warning to the Government of Hamid Karzai that he should stop US troops from harassing local villagers.
Local villagers have become enraged by the contempt they have received from US troops.
