Annual Defense Report for 2001 Now Available
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen's Annual Report to the President and the Congress
is an overview of the Clinton Administration's efforts to ensure the nation's defense
requirements and details the future defense program. It highlights the $227 billion in
additional funding the Administration has provided for defense, and lays out how that
money is being used to protect readiness, improve the quality of life of America's military
forces, and prepare U.S. forces to deal with multiple threats across the globe.
The Annual Report is available on the web at http://www.dtic.mil/execsec/adr2001/ .
A limited supply of paper copies will be made available to reporters today in the Pentagon
Press Office, Room 2E765.
