US wants to occupy Central Asian resources:
seminar

LAHORE: Speakers of a seminar Sunday warned that the US had invaded Afghanistan only to crush Islamic government there and occupy mineral and oil resources of Central Asia.
The seminar was organised by Hizbut Tehrir (HT) and addressed by Pakistan spokesman HT Naveed Butt, an Urdu daily Editor Mujibur Rehman Shami, Lahore Tanzim Islami Ameer Mirza Ayub Beg, Tehrik Rehmat Secretary-General Tufail Wahla, HT members Prof Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Saleem, and Maulana Abdur Rauf Farooqi.
Naveed Butt said the need of the hour was to strive for getting the US out of the region and stressed that
Muslims might shun the paradigm that the US was the only sole superpower against which nothing could be done.
He emphasised that Khilafat practiced in early Islam days was the only way out for entire Ummah.
He said the Khilafat set forth an alternative ideology and system against the capitalism.
He urged the people not to waste their energies in meaningless demonstrations and burning of effigies, and instead concentrate on becoming good Muslims.
Shami said the government had no choice but to support the US-led coalition.
He said the public and governments had always supported rival forces.
He cited the example of Tehrik-e-Khilafat in early 20th century in which Muslim population backed the Turks while the rulers and aristocrats had supported the British.
Prof Nawaz said that September 11 events provided a pretext to the US for attacking Afghanistan and installing its forces in the region for future occupation of mineral and oil resources.
He said that none of the reasons for attacking Afghanistan was true, and added that it was not possible without the support from Pakistan.
He said the decision to support the US and its consequences had benefitted India, while Pakistan ended up as a loser.
Mirza Ayub Beg said the real target of the US was Pakistan.
Citing former Israeli PM Ben Guriyan's speech of 1967, he said Gyriyan had outlined the plan of World Zionist Movement, saying that Pakistan and not the Arabs was the real enemy of Israel.
He said Israel's security was the foremost objective of the US foreign policy and Israel could succeed in blackmailing the US to attack Pakistan like it had succeeded in planning the attack on Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan had only delayed its destruction by supporting the US-led coalition, adding that instead of choosing instant and honourable death the Musharraf government had opted for a protracted and painful death.
Ch Tufail Wahla said had Pakistan not been a nuclear power, Israel and India would have invaded it much earlier.
He also cited Ben Guriyan saying that Isral and India are natural allies against Pakistan.
